Buena comida, buen sabor, bien de precio. Bajo en grasa. Apto para gente que cuida su figura ya que puedes modificar los platos. La carta no es muy amplia pero es sazón casero.

My boyfriend I were getting our oil changed at the Honda place down the road, and wanted to grab some food and watch the Colombia v Greece match so we stopped in here. The food was delicious and cheap and the service was great. We’ll definitely be back for breakfast sometime soon!

Horrible service and they try to overcharge you. They include tip in your bill and lie about the percentage of the tip. They tried to charge 101% tip –_– Most of the waitresses are rude and the manager is incompetent. The only good thing about the place was the dessert. I give it one star because I must give a star to put in a review.

Good food, good prices, very good service! We went here on a fantastically-priced Groupon deal, but the regular prices are pretty great too. It was a Tuesday evening, and El Carretero was pretty quiet. The interior is very casual. There is a counter full of mouth-watering baked goods, another counter, with seating, where they have coffee, soups and tapas-type food, and wooden tables and chairs. There is a large mosaic in the back. We were seated right away, by a pleasant young woman, who hesitantly asked if we spoke Spanish. No, we said, not a word. Not a problem though, we never noticed a language gap the entire time we were there. The Groupon entitled us to 2 two antojitos, two entrees, and one dessert. I started with the beef empanada, and hubby had the chorizo. Both were very, very tasty. We also split the chicharron(not included), but I was very unimpressed with it. I decided to save the calories and let my husband finish that one. For our entrees, Dan had the chicken breast with mushrooms, which was served in a dense, cream sauce, and I had the grilled pork loin. Both were solidly good, and cooked to tender perfection, though somewhat bland. For sides we got fries, beans, and fried plantains, I really didn’t care for any except the plantains – but perhaps that is my fault for getting French fries at a Columbian place. Portion sizes were generous, especially for the price. For dessert we split the tres leches, which was somewhat of a disappointment. The creamy milks were tasty, and they took the time to create a cute heart pattern on top, but the cake itself was a little dry. We decided,(ok I decided) to get 6 empanadas to go. When the bill came, the price was higher than we expected, and found that they had included a 20% tip on the full groupon value. Which I hate. Its not that we weren’t going to tip on the full value, we actually left extra. Its the principle of deciding your own tip. Bottom line: if we lived closer, the great prices and service would certainly bring us back.
