Ordered in delivery from here for the first time today and it was DELICIOUS! Around West New York there really aren’t many good choices when it come to delivery — and this will definitely be one of our go to places from now on! We had the pulled pork sandwich — the pork was cooked perfectly and the bread it comes with is yummy crunchy goodness! The fries are also nice and crispy! Also had the chicken which was seasoned and cooked well!

Great little joint, especially for takeout. The real deal of BBQ. Very smokey, not saucy. Amazing ribs, pork belly. Really liked chicken as well. They also have brisket and lots of other things I did not get to. Worth making your way over and getting some barbeque.

As soon as I walked in the owner greeted us and asked if this was our first time here, which it was. He gave us some brisket and ribs to try on the house. I got a whole chicken and my buddy got the brisket sandwich. Everything was sensational. This place is the next best thing. Definitely be back!

I must say for the first time time trying out this place the full rack of ribs we order was pretty good. The small splash of bbq sauce added a great flavor to the meat as well. I would add to the Mac & Cheese was also a good addition to the meal.

dayummmmmm, that was some great BBQ. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, but if I had to pick a winner, I’d go with the pulled pork. The ciabatta bread it’s but on is delicious, the BBQ sauce is great too. Not too sweet, not too smokey. We also ordered the Yucca fries, which were good, but not necessary because the regular fried the sandwiches come with were fantastic and plentiful. Ordered from Grub Hub, and will be ordering from them again :)

Oh man. Tasty. I ordered here twice. For some reason, the first time was not great /a bit dry… but I gave them another chance and oh man the food tasted amazing. When they do it right it’s awesome.

It’s great to see the NY tri-state area stepping up their game when it comes to quality BBQ spots. While I don’t mind coming into Manhattan or Brooklyn for some BBQ, I’m glad that we now have one in West New York/Union City, NJ. My wife and had a craving for some BBQ and found Louie’s on a Unilocal search. Instead of ordering delivery, we decided to check the place out in person. Louie was there working on a rack of ribs when we got there. He gave us a few samples from the ribs as well as the pork belly and brisket. The ribs and brisket melted in our mouths they were so rich and juicy. I might even say they would give Texas BBQ spots a run for their money. The mac and cheese was ridiculously cheesy; a nice accompaniment to the meat pile we had. Looking forward to order from here again!

I ordered the brisket and burnt ends. All ends was just fat. The brisket was a little chewy. Nothing really stand out of this place. There are way better BBQ in jersey.

I don’t like giving 5s. But it is well earned. There is more than one reason to say the Lords name out loud. Holy smokes! I am a little alarmed for a day will come and this place shall be overran by BBQ junkies getting their fix on. If word gets out I’m going to have to pay for a pass just to get in. Louie, if that is his real name, is selling something I could not imagine up here in West NY. It Is as good as anything I had in Texas or Tennessee. Now, you may have had some better BBQ and that is appreciated and understood. But, it’s not going to be around here… and you will be questioned on your criteria used to make your opinion. It’s that good a debate is reasonable. Brisket — Bangs Soup — Bangs Corn Bread — Really good Beans«black» — Bangs Side note, my sometimes vegetarian, sometimes gluten free, sometimes sugar adverse, always an animal loving advocate wife ate ½ my brisket sandwich. I’m still hot over that and will get a 5 day golf vacation because of that poorly played choice on her part.

I have been here multiple times and each time the quality of the food has decreased. This will be the last time that I go here. The food is over priced and the quality absolutely sucks now. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are out of business within the next two months. DONOTGOHERE!!!

I went searching Unilocal for something different than the usual places to eat. Didn’t want fast food. Didn’t want spanish food. I wanted something different… what’s this, BBQ? In West New York?!? Ok, what’s the ratings? 5 stars, clean, 5 stars, friendly, and another 5 stars? No way, these have to be old reviews, nope, all within the past month. Now I am intrigued. These people must not know what BBQ is, but wait, check the menu. Hmmmm. pulled pork sandwich, brisket, ribs really… sounds like BBQ to me. Let’s see what all the hype is about. Louie’s BBQ, here I come. Short walk from the hustle and bustle of Bergenline. Arrived at the easy to find establishment, and immediately felt like maybe this place was on the up and up. The store front was inviting, well lit, and had a big chain feel from the professional looking sign, brick treatments, and large windows. But… when you enter that all changes. You get a minimalist feeling from the small dining space, with a few small tables, sparce décor, and the counter area which doubles as a stand and eat bar when the place gets busy. It’s as if you are in the kitchen, look around, you are in the kitchen. And nothing is hidden, from view. You get to see where your food is made. No wondering how clean the food prep area is, you can see it for yourself. You are greeted by a very friendly staff member, who turned out to be Louie himself. So far, so good. But how’s the BBQ? So I placed and order for the pulled pork sandwich with fries. Wait, how big is it… I will take two. «Here try a sample» says Louie as he offers me a very tender, moist, cooked to perfection piece of REALBBQ! Did I mention the flavor? Nice smoky flavor, melts in your mouth. While waiting for my order to be made, the pride of his craft began to show in Louie’s personality. This is a man who knows his BBQ, knows the cuts, and methods of cooking great food. Texas and South Carolina styles blended to create the best pork BBQ I’ve experienced North of the Mason Dixon line.(Google it) Wait, these sandwiches are huge, guess one is tomorrow’s lunch(which was just as good the next day) And all for right around 20 bucks? I can’t wait to try the other menu items, but I am not sure if I pass up another sandwich to try the other offerings. If you have never had real BBQ, go to Louie’s. GREATJOBLOUIE!!! Keep up the good work. If you cook it, they will come.

Finally my search for that perfect brisket is over. Louie has it. Wow. I didn’t expect it in(unfamiliar to me) West New York. I was hungry coming off the ferry boat at Port Imperial and Unilocal came to the rescue. BBQ nearby? Sold! But I’ve been disappointed by so many BBQ places in NJ/NY. Well, no more. This place is it. I had one of the juiciest, most tender, perfectly seasoned, thickly cut brisket ever. One bite after another I was in heaven. How the hell do you make this tough piece of cow part melt in your mouth? Oh thanks Louie! Louie was super nice and I can see he is passionate about his rubs, methods, what have you. That’s what we need from a real BBQ place. Pork ribs were fantastic too that Louie kept feeding me at no charge. I am salivating as I write this. I have to try other meats too but one of the best briskets ever in my life gets 5 stars in my book.

I ordered the family meal of a whole chicken and 6 ribs with rice and beans as a side. All I have to say that this is the best ribs I have had in a long time. They give me a test of the pulled pork and it was amazing. The rice and beans was great especially with the sausage and pork chunks in the beans. This really makes the beans taste so great. The hot sauces also had great kicking flavor. I truly recommend this restaurant to everyone that loves eating pork and chicken.

As a resident of Texas, it hurts me greatly to write this next sentence. One of the best BBQ places I’ve ever been is Louie’s BBQ Pit in West New York. Seriously, my fingers tensed up, cramping, and the letters were all jumbled. It took eleven tries to write that. I think the BBQ Overlords of Texas were somehow trying to control my fingers, keeping me from expressing my true thoughts. First, Louie is a really nice guy who is a master with the meat smoker. I tried pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and pork belly. The ribs didn’t float my boat, but that story ends there. The pulled pork was incredibly juicy. The thought of the pork belly is making my mouth water at this very moment. The brisket is in a class by itself. Brisket is Texas at places like Rudy’s is really only useful as sandpaper. Really good brisket comes from the hallowed places like Franklin’s in Austin or Salt Lick in Driftwood. But there’s a new king of brisket. Louie has taken that regal title. It’s the most delectable, juicy, tender, and tasty brisket I’ve ever eaten. Louie is working in a sauce, too. He had three for me to taste. One is his own recipe. It has a little heat, a little sweet, and a tang of vinegar that’ll rock you from your head to your feet. If he gets this sauce into production, I’ll take it with me next time I go to Franklin’s or Salt Lick. I’m looking forward to my next visit to NYC, so I can bounce across the river and get some of this amazing food. I have no doubt the next time, the ribs will be closer to the tenderness of the other stuff I tried. They were good, and hold up to a high standard, but they were definitely overshadowed by the other meats I tried. Next time I’m going«hog wild» and shooting to get the meat sweats when I leave there. I’d like to see some more seats, and maybe a place to curl up in the corner after my meat sweat nap kicks in. Thank you, Louie. You have a magic touch.

Did take-out from Louie’s last night, we got the $ 55 family meal, which comes with beef ribs, chicken and pork ribs. The beef ribs were juicy and well seasoned. The pork ribs were tender and delicious. I didn’t get to try the chicken since they were quickly devoured by my friends. The food portion is HUGE, which kinda justified for the cost. Will have to plan a return trip to try the pulled pork and chicken next time.

Got Dinner Delivery from Louie’s tonight and was super excited considering all the positive reviews on Unilocal unfortunately the main entrees just felt flat. Got a half chicken and ribs and both were super dry. Just felt like they were cooked a while ago and then thrown into the oven :(a shame because I spent 35 dollars just to meet the minimum delivery to Hoboken but the food just wasn’t good enough. On a positive note, the chicken croquettes and the beans were phenomenal!!! **owner reached out via Unilocal and offered a free meal next time or refund. Took a partial refund of 12.21 for my 35 dollar tab. Not bad I guess !
