One has to be very careful in choosing an orthodontist as you will be stuck with the office for a year or more. Out of the whole year the office was on time just a few times. Today we have been waiting for an hour and have not being called yet. They understaffed and therefore unable to see patients on time. Moreover, they are closing the office on Saturdays and we have only 9 – 5 Wednesday or Monday choices now. Who can make it during working hours? Jobless people…
Would like to add one more story — When we started with this office, I had a fixed price insurance — I had to pay only $ 2400. I also had another insurance, which paid out $ 1400. Silly me, I thought I would present both insurances and will have to pay the difference between 2400 and 1400. They told me no, they would take my 2400 and 1400 from another insurance (basically they took both of my insurance as an add up). Fine. did that. Now, almost two years later they are telling me there is an outstanding balance of $ 900 from $ 1400 insurance (I guess they forgot to claim). Thankfully, now I have another new insurance that has an additional $ 1400 for orthodontics, so I am telling them claim $ 900 from this new insurance. Fine. They forgot to even file the claim (again), so now is the day my daughter has an appointment to remove her braces (few weeks after my other insurance company agreed to pay $ 900), she comes in and they tell her that they will not take her braces off until I pay $ 900!!! I am like WOW people, I paid my 2400, I gave you my two various insurance — each with 1400 approved and you forget to claim or file the claim and now you keeping my daughter (15 year old) as a hostage. Why bother to call me beforehand — my daughter has no choice but to remove braces and I have no choice, but to pay as they threaten not to remove them!
Never-​mind, that she took a full day off from high school — who cares about 15 year old time? — and took light rail and walked to their office (total of 45 min ride). I was so mad… had an unpleasant conversation with their office manager, made my daughter to come back, so they to remove her braces — my insurance did pay $ 900 after they filed the claim. Never coming back.
