I go to Veracruz at least once every two weeks. I am completely biased because it is a great taco spot with so many offerings. You can order tacos al pastor, tacos de lengua(tongue), pork, chicken, everything under the sun. The main driver for me is the«GRINGA» which is a $ 6 grilled quesadilla PACKED to the brim with cheese and any type of meat you want. Go for the green sauce. I will say though, the tacos al pastor as of late have too much rice. It is a very latino spot as in, they barely speak english. The clientele is mostly Mexican, Salvadorian, or Guatemalans that live in the area. This Veracruz is in the heart of Latino Hudson county right off of Bergenline. If you want to come here before its fully gentrified, come to Tacos Veracruz. There are 4 taco spots in a 1 block radius and I will choose this one 10 times out of 10. Its a no frills coma inducing meal with every possible choice of jarritos, or jugo de tamarindo. On weekends you’ll have a marriachi come in and sing a few songs. They do take out and delivery also. Very quick.

Loooooove this authentic taco joint. Want some real tacos? this is the place! When you sit down they bring you tortilla chips and dip. A green jalapeño sauce, roja spicier sauce and salsa. I usually get the broiled pork and chorizo tacos. There is pineapple bites in the broiled pork and flavors are delicious and tender. It comes with lime, slices of turnips and these green slender veggies(have no idea what they are) they don’t skimp out on the meat so 4 tacos will fill you up. For drinks I always get their grapefruit jarritos! You will leave happy and fuzzy inside ;)

I am A Mexican American born on the border of Texas and Mexico! I’ve been living in this area for 4 yrs and I have been disappointed by the Mexican Restaurants around the area! I had not been to a restaurant that gave me that home made Authentic Mexican Sabor until I was told about this one! So far this has been the best Mexican Food in the area Hands down! The reason why I gave a 4 star instead of the five was for the service, waitress was in a hurry. But other than that it was delicious! The Plate of Alambre was delicious!

This place has a lot of potential. The chips and sauces you get when initially sitting down are delicious. Portions are great for the price. Food was a little bland for my taste. I found myself adding salt to the carnitas tacos(something I never do to my food) I would give this place a second chance to see if maybe they were having an off day.

Food is fresh, price is good, waitresses are nice. Been here about 6 times now and haven’t been disappointed. The guacamole is awesome!

I’m so glad I chose this Mexican restaurant tonight. There’s a ton of Mexican restaurants in West New York and sometimes they’re s hit or miss. I ordered the chicken flautas, which usually come with four flautas per order so I was happy to see that I had five flautas! I felt like I won a prize lol! Anyway… The food was great, crunchy topped with cheese and crema. The green and red sauce were both pretty hot, just different in flavors but both tasted great.

Was brought here by recommendations by a good friend who knows his authentic Mexican food. Ever since the pregnancy, I just want guac and tacos! And we have tried many places around the area of WNY and yummmm this is def on top! I got the guac– great portion & chicken tacos. Just juicy and it just tastes so fresh! Good eats!

Some of the best tacos you will eat outside of Mexico, I think. Featuring standard ingredients(chorizo, carne asada) but also goat meat, tongue, etc. The salsas are also phenomenal — they smell as if they just picked the chilis and crushed them moments before serving. A nice clean restaurant with GREAT Mexican food — some of the best on the area.

The portions were HUGE and the food was awesome. Well, at least for me. My bf and i moved recently to an area away from his tacos. When we went to visit a friend in WNY, he had twinkles in his eyes. «can we move here» is what he said and I said, «one mexican is enough for me» but after stumbling across this place, and realizing how much I missed jackson heights mexican food, i might have to rethink my options. i make mexican food at home, and never comes out like this authentic place. Loved it and definately will go back… I’m not gonna lie, there are many choices there and I might have to try other places, but this place will always be #1

Was looking for another mexican place and decided to try this place based on the reviews. Had the steak burritos, they were great. Although like someone mentioned, they are different, no rice, beans, guacamole, ect… and there are 4. I’d like to think it’s more authentic since I hear the big single burritos with everything but the kitchen sink inside is an american thing. I know spanish(im colombian) but there were some unfamiliar stuff on the menu which I also see as a good sign of authenticity.

My dad introduced my mother and me to this restaurant during the summer. He ordered the tacos because well, I don’t think they can really speak English and since my pops is fluent in Spanish, he took care of ordering the food and shit. He got us the grilled chicken tacos and the beef tacos. Both were just so, so amazing. This isn’t your typical Chipotle, Qdoba tacos, I’m talking legit, real deal, Mexican food. All that and a bottle of Coca Cola. I was in heaven. So why the four stars instead of five? Well, I’m big on the food AND the service/location and I found that the service was eh, okay. I don’t know if it’s because we were the only Asians in there, but everyone just kept staring at us, even the people that work there. Shrugs* Anyways, if you’re ever in the area and craving some tacos, get them here.

This place is delicious! Speaking from my Mexican bias — it is the beacon of hope in the NYC area. If you’re ever in West NY you have to stop by and try their cabeza, lengua and chorizo tacos! Spanish is almost a must since their English is limited — but honestly, that’s a sign of their authenticity.

This place has the best authentic mexican food in the NYC metro area. The salsa is perfect! I have lived in the area for 7 years now and I have eaten at lots of mexican places that are close by. This one is the best and it seemed to be very clean too. That’s always a plus for mexican joints. It is in shady part of town but if you go during the day, you will be in good shape. No beer though… :(
