My mom and I were excited to try this place out since we were in dire need of our Spanish fix, and was excited to know a place like this existed. HOWEVER, this place is horrible. Extremely overpriced & food isn’t all that great. Their sandwiches are extremely salty and cold, even when we asked to heat it up. The customer service was annoying. When a customer is speaking and especially ordering something, it’s common sense to just listen. The other employee behind the counter wouldn’t stop talking over us. Will never return to this place.

I like how this is a nice coffee shop to have a cup of coffee and read a book cause is so quiet and the music is so relaxing, I also like how the waitresses make you feel like home, they are very polite and efficient, I recommend this place to everyone btw the food is delicious as well.

I love this place! The food is authentic and they have true Spanish products!!! This place is just awesome! I am from Spain and nothing ever compares to the food my mom makes. This place comes in a close 2nd! The empanadas were amazing and best of all, not fried! The croquettes were to die for! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Mainly a Spaniard cuisine complete with tortilla española, quiches, sandwiches on artisan breads and imported cheeses and European products. The food is tasty. I ordered a tortilla espanola with potato and veggies and a sweet plantain and white cheese quiche. Fresh squeezed orange juice as well. Unfortunately the service is poor. The employee taking the orders and heating the food served my quiche and tortilla espanola half cold. And was too involved in her conversation with her co-worker to let me cut in on the conversation to order my drink. I waited over a minute and a half to say what I wanted to drink. The seating at the tables was also dirty, full of crumbs. And there are only two other customers here, which certainly gives time to clean up.

Great spot to have have some treats in. Stopped by on a friday night that wasn’t very busy and was able to enjoy some tasty ice cream and a delicious warm churro. Only complaint is that the staff was a little hard to get a hold off because they had family or friends in the establishment at the same time and were having their own side conversations. However they did answer all our questions when we did talk to them.

This restaurant doesn’t belong on Bergenline, but it’s service does. To be fair I went here on a Saturday afternoon, that being said the food is delicious if you can get one of the 5 people behind the counter to acknowledge you. When I finally got someone’s attention, the tortilla espanola(papa & papa y chorizo are my favorite), the croquetas de jamon and any of the many varieties empanadas make a great trio. This place also delivers which is a plus when you get bored of ordering in pizza or chinese… or if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of waiting 10 minutes to pay for your food because there is only one register and 12 other people who all want to be rung up at the same time.

Thank you, Unilocalers, for putting Vesso on the map! I was looking for a cozy, clean place to grab a coffee before teaching a class on a Sunday afternoon. Vesso is clean, pretty and has a variety of snacks, food and drinks. There’s different seating: small bistro tables and higher ones with bar stools, as well as some big armchairs. I tried their empanadas(seem baked): chicken and spinach taste the best, bacalao and queso are OK. Their cortado is strong, and the women who work there are always nice and friendly. I never felt rushed out or bothered. I saw people eating seafood paella and soup. There are also sweets(cakes) and croissants /danishes available.

Good Hot chocolate although I would have preferred it a bit thicker, Churros are a bit chewy but very tasty. Wide selection of pastries and small bites, Very comfortable and clean. All in all a good place for a quick snack, after dinner dessert or bracing espresso.

Empanadas are greasy. Quich doesn’t reheat well.

Sometimes, you are just looking for that perfect place to sit back and have a great cup of coffee, some tasty nibbles and read the paper on a snowy day. Ok, so maybe I don’t read the paper but I really want to just so I have an excuse to hang out in Vesso’s all day! Great service, great food, great atmosphere. I love the ham and cheese empenada and the quiche is amazing too. I have yet to try the pastries but they look amazing. There is a daily soup and everything is quality ingredients. They also have a small grocery part where you can buy some specialty oils, meats and olives, things like that. If you are ever wandering down Bergenline and want a casual but delicious nosh, drop into Vesso and you won’t be disappointed.

This place is great! First found out about it via a flyer that was in our door. The bread pudding is absolutely amazing and so are the guava pastries. Haven’t tried their quiche yet, but it looks really yummy as well. All the employees are always really nice and explain what things are, since I’m not familiar with a lot of the foods :). Great place to check out for quiche, coffees or pastries.
