The food here is pretty good. The service is not up to par at all. If you can deal with the slow delivery it’s worth it.

I notice the multiple poor review for this place can be sum up to a communications issue. I’m a regular customer and from experience communication is an issue. However, communication is a 2 way street. Yes, communication is a challenge ‘given’ that the employees are ‘English Second Language ’ individuals, than, it’s incumbent upon you to utilize your communication skill to address this issue. I have encounter these situations on many occasions and repetition may not be the best action. Every situation may need different solutions and not a generic response. As to their food, price and customer service, they are no better or worse, that is, average. June 12015

Service and quality has gone down. The new owners changed a lot. Even prices went up, food tasted different last time I ordered. I won’t be returning.

Ordered a simple meal to be delivered. 30 min later, no food, so I call back and get a response that it’s out for delivery. 20 more minutes, nothing. I call back and it seems the driver can’t find my house. After a bit of back and forth he swoops up my stairs, practically throws the bag at me, takes the money and says«your house is so hard to find». No thank you or anything half way decent. Here’s the kicker, my house is just down the road from them, 1 minute drive. On top of it, food was drenched in salty sauce and the whole bag was wet and dripping. Yuck! First and last time I call them.

We’ve been getting take out from this place for about 2 years now, but its seriously gone from bad to worse. The last few times they«forgot» to send me part of my order. The last order I placed on 1⁄6 came out to $ 38.55. They over charged us for boneless spare ribs(they charged me for spare ribs). Ok fine, I let it go. Then when we couldn’t even eat the ribs b/c they were soooo dry and rubbery, it seemed like there were microwaved and doused in sauce. But it was my birthday and we didn’t feel like making a fuss. Well now, I’m dealing with the bank b/c they charged us twice! Once for $ 38.55 and another charge for $ 21.88. The order came out to $ 38.55, and that’s the amount my husband signed for. However, when you pay for your order, you have to hand over your card and they swipe it. Be ware! Check your receipt and make sure you get what you pay for.

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because of the price and the food. I’ll be honest with you, I want to rate this place higher but I simply can’t. THEPOSITIVES The food itself really isn’t bad. I thought their combination plates were pretty good and deserve some praise. The menu has a wide variety of choices, the price is superior compared to some of the other Chinese take out places I’ve been to, and they even offer complementary food for spending certain amounts of money(IE. Two Egg Rolls with an order of $ 20 or more). THENEGATIVES Well first off, this isn’t the place to dine in. There are 3 wooden tables to sit at if you choose to but that really isn’t the main focus of the restaurant, so I’ll give them slack. The parking is horrible. If you choose to pick up an order during 3 – 6 pm, good luck. The area to park is limited and small on the backside of the place. The parking is shared by 2 other stores along the street and can be very packed. So you must be wondering to yourself at this point in the review, «this place doesn’t sound TOO bad, it probably at least deserves 3 stars.» The problem is with the customer service. Now for a take out place like this, the phone communication is very crucial. When I try to call and verbalize my order, there always seems to be a disconnect. For example, I’d say«Can I get the Shrimp w. Broccoli combination plate.» and they’d repeat back«Chicken w. Broccoli?» There were definitely times when I’d call and repeat my order to clarify, and still not be convinced they got it right. So one time when I ordered, I picked up the food and came back home and. where’s the fried rice?! I called back the restaurant and I told them the food item wasn’t in there and they insisted they packed it. OK. I’ll let this one slide. On another occasion, I called, came to pick up the food, ready to pay the bill and.20 dollars?! I definitely just ordered 10 dollars worth. It turns out the lady on the phone misinterpreted my clarification of the order and ADDED another order. That was the last straw. Bottom line. I gave this place a shot. I really did. But multiple mistakes and head-scratching incidents have caused me to defer from visiting again.

Take out for sure. Eat in for Lunch, okay. Patronized 5 times. Friendly. Great lunch specials. Simple things divide the good from bad when it comes to Chinese/Cantonese food. The hot and sour soup hits the spot. Egg fu yung and shrimp with broccoli are right on. And can you beat the price for a well balanced meal? I think not. I’ll be there again soon. Thank you China Garden.
