Master Cleaner

We have been using this location for a few years now and have not had any issues. I have my dress shorts done here and they always come back cleaner than when I would take them elsewhere. While I have not taken any of my high end items here for cleaning or alterations I have had no problems with my day to day and midrange pieces.
The service is good and the manager is always friendly towards me.

I basically only get my cotton/​linen shirts done here and have always been satisfied. Very nice owners but parking can be challenging.

Not only ecologically oriented, but kind and accurate. He will deliver or you can pick up. His prices are fair and if you have an issue price wise, you just talk to him

Once again MasterCleaners to the rescue. Just picked up my clothes and much to my delight all the stains (even the ink) came out. My good suit and white shirt look as good as new. Thanks for saving me a bundle on replacing them. You are the best!

I have had 2 extremely poor experiences with Master Cleaner in West Orange, NJ in the last 3 months. I took 31 items of clothing to this local cleaners with the logical expectation that they would be appropriately dry cleaned. None of the clothes taken to this cleaners were stained, damaged, or had any foul odors. However, when I picked up my 31 pieces of clothing, they all had a «chemically burnt» odor to them. I put so many items in the cleaners at once as I was preparing for a long trip. The clothes were ready on time and I picked all the clothes up 10 min before closing only to find that I could not wear ANY of the clothes for my trip the next day. I called Master Cleaners and spoke to the owner. After 15 minutes of explaining the issue and the language barrier, he told me to come back now and he will check them to see if they had an odor. I explained that I did not need him to «check for an odor.» I was confident that there was a strong chemical burnt smell and that I was leaving for a trip in the morning but would return the items next week when I came back from my trip. Well… I took all the 31 items of clothing back to Master Cleaners 1 week after the incident. The owner remembered my complaint call, but he still proceeded to take 10 minutes to smell each item and tell me that he only smelled the chemical odor on 23 pieces. Trying to maintain my composure, I explained to him that, «the entire cleaners smelled like the chemical and he may have been used to the odor. But, the only resolution to my issue was to re-​clean all of my items.» With reluctance, he finally agreed. However 3 days later, I picked up my clothes and approx. 20 items did not have the burnt smell; but all the others still had the same chemical burnt smell. I lost confidence with Master Cleaner’s ability to properly dry-​clean clothes. I had to take the remaining 11 items to a «real» dry-​cleaners because Master Cleaner in West Orange does a horrible job at dry-​cleaning clothes!!! It is the closest cleaners to my home & despite the pick-​up/​delivery service the owner offered me, I will NEVER return to Master Cleaners again!

I know the owner and his family personally. I’m a customer of their store in Cedar Knolls, and have been for many years. He was distraught when he told me about the bad reviewer who said he is «the worst» dry cleaner. He tells me that reviewer came to his store to alter a dress. After spending nearly thirty minutes with her, she asked how much it would be. He told her what the price would be, and she was flabbergasted. Then, she demanded that the work be done for twenty dollars. she kept taunting him with the twenty dollar bill held in the air in front of his face. He insisted that it would be more and then she through a tantrum. «F — you» a couple of times, and left the store screaming. He followed her to speak to her, and knocked on her car window. She sped away. Two sides to every story, right? Anyway, I too have never had a problem for many years, and know them to be honorable people.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. My only gripe is the parking lot.

THE WORST establishment in West Orange! The man who runs this place is absolutely psychotic! I went to know how much he will charge me to get my dress pants altered and he insisted in putting pins in place so that he cud alter it and when I told him I do not want to get it done there (b.c I felt like I was being forced), he was furious! He began cursing at me and when I left he followed me to my car and BANGED on the window with his hands! It was so scary! I was trembling when I called my parents and they told me to come home ASAP! So i highly DO NOT recommend going to this place for ANY reason! There are so many other dry cleaners that are run my normal people in WO!
