So I have eaten at this establishment on a few occasions and I am consistently disappointed. First off, they mixed up my order one time, and another time demanded I use their atm machine to withdraw money because I had not reached their«$ 20 minimum to use debit card rule». I had to incur $ 3 atm fee plus fee from bank to eat at this already overly priced deli. But in all honesty even if I had $ 20 worth of food, The credit card machine was probably broken anyways(it’s always broken). However, the straw that broke the camels back was when I ordered corn beef hash and received a mountain of potatoes(under cooked and bland) and 6 pieces of corn beef(over cooked and bland). The food was so inedible, I paid for it, and walked out. Completely left untouched on the table. So mortified, I had to get out of there. Worse $ 10 ever spent and surely will be the last ever spent there. Do yourself a favor and go to the other 10 delis in the area.

I arrived when they opened one Saturday morning and found they weren’t open yet. Was surprising to see bagels are delivered and sitting outside their door. To me if an establishment wants to call themselves a bagel shop(and deli) they should make their own bagels. Bagels are dense.

I love coming here sometimes. The bagels are really good. I usually get Taylor ham on a roll, salt, pepper, ketchup, and tabasco sauce… try it just once it’s amazing…

I was around the area after a doctors appointment and stopped by this place for lunch. First off let me start by saying the lady in the front taking orders was so helpful and nice. I had the most DELICIOUS sandwich,(chkn cutlet, fresh mozz, bacon& russian dressing) truly amazing! Definitely will be back to try their breakfast sandwiches. Thanks Northfield bagel staff!

I have yet to try their sandwiches but I’ve had their breakfast bagels and they are AMAZINGGGGG. Would recommend this place to everyone. I order the Taylor Ham & Cheese and its delicious. The bagel is soft enough to bite into and the ham is not dry at all. My only complaint is that its greasy but beside that i love it

I stopped by for a sloppy joe. It comes with cold slaw and the cole slaw was actually great. The sandwich was meaty and well work the price. I can say i will return. The roast beef is just not for me but the sloppy joe was still good. Lol the have a sit down section and the place is pretty clean. They offer a lot inside and the parking lot os a plus. A huge plus!

I thought this place was going to be off the charts but ended up disappointing me. Bagel bread is rubber, i got a smokey joe triple decker and it was too cheese powered. I got a taylor ham egg and cheese on a bagel, the smokey joe, and a tea and it came to be 23.00… When paying for it the lady didn’t flinch while collecting my money. I waited for a receipt but it wasn’t given. I confronted the woman and she just punched numbers into the computer and gave me my true total which was 15. Very unprofessional. Do not appreciate that she didn’t apologize either

To me this place is excellent for breakfast & lunch, pastrami and corned beef is to die for! As soon as I came in I was greeted. Everyone seemed pretty friendly and at my service. I’ve been here 3 times & always leave satisfied.

I was looking for a place to have lunch for a few minutes and luckily stumbled upon Northfield Bagels and Deli. There is a big selection of sandwiches for you to order from plus various baked goods such as bagels, muffins, brownies, and different pastries. «Smokey Joe» Triple Decker: Delicious! It’s hard for me not to order a sandwich without meat in it, but this was enjoyable. The sandwich is essentially nova, cream cheese, Swiss cheese, whitefish spread, lettuce, and tomatoes on rye; think of a lox bagel but without any onions or capers. While it isn’t as thick as the sandwiches with meat in them, this is a tasty, filling, and relatively healthier option. It’s served with two pickle halves. You pick your own drink from their fridge. Corned Beef and Salami«Sloppy Joe»: This is the type of sandwich that non-New Jerseyans(what do I call people from this state?) like myself expect when we visit or move to the NJ/NY area. This sandwich has thick layer of shaved corned beef on top and a thick layer of shaved salami below the middle slice of bread. Russian dressing and cole slaw is also added to the sandwich, the reasoning behind it being called the«Sloppy Joe.» Like the other sandwich, this is also served with two pickle halves. There’s enough parking spaces next to the restaurant. There was only one couple who ordered before me, but my order still took about 15 minutes. Still, the wait was worth it to me. The lady working the cashier is nice. Note that you order first, grab your drinks or whatever else, then pay after you’re finished eating. Don’t leave your plates on the table; either throw them away or throw the trash then stack them on top of the trash if you’re given real plates. Food is reasonably priced and tastes great. It’s all the way down Northfield Avenue, but the location is on the corner; keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss it.

Corned beef and pastrami sloppy joe. That’s all there is to say. Unreal for a local bagel shop.

Not good. The staff is RUDE and the prices are ridiculous. They rip you off. Order one thing and they will charge you for something else if they can make an extra buck. The place is dirty and the staff next to incompetent. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and have seen a lot of crap, but I have never seen someone be treated as rudely as I have at this store. I am NOT going back.

Bagels are great, when they are fresh. Sometimes they are fresh and sometimes they are not. They customer service is okay.

I’m writing this strictly as someone who has had breakfast here — breakfast sandwiches and bagels — not the large hungry man sandwiches. I have passed this place for 2 years and its convenience made me stop in. The bagels weren’t very fresh; they were hard and tasteless, but the egg sandwich was decent. The place looked super depressing, even with its bright colored signs and sandwich boards. It just had this lonely, dark feel to it. It also had the cooked meat smell; not the one that makes your mouth water, but the one that makes you want to gag. I also think it’s very overpriced. We paid $ 12 for a stale bagel with tasteless veggie cream cheese and a mediocre egg sandwich. Note: they have a cash minimum.

While visiting the nearby Turtle Back zoo in West Orange, I came to this little deli for a quick bite. There was a rather large parking lot connected to the deli which was rather convenient. We were greeted by friendly staff when we first walked in. My omelette was tasty so was hubby’s roast beef sandwich(loaded with roast beef). I do wish there were more condiments such as mustard and hot sauce displayed in the common area of the dining room.

Went here today for lunch on the go. I will not be returning to this business again, even though it is conveniently close to my office. Unjustified pricing that were not explained or listed on the menu. I can easily go elsewhere for the exact same offering! This is what happened after ordering my simple lunch on the go: I called in an egg white omelette platter(comes with home fries and toast). This is listed on the menu as $ 4.75. I asked for peppers to be added to the omelette. I got to the store and was ready to pay and she tried to charge me $ 8 and some change. I expressed my confusion about the price to which she responded that was incorrect. She then changed the price to $ 6.95. I grabbed a menu from the full menu display in front of the register and showed her the egg white omelette platter listed for $ 4.75, to which she said the additional cost was for peppers. «$ 2 for peppers!!!» I paid it and rushed back to my office. I realized after I returned that adding meat to the platter is $ 2, so why was I being charged $ 2 for peppers? I called the store to express my frustration and confusion at being charged $ 2 for simple addition of peppers, which was the same cost as meat. FIRST she informs me that the menu was WRONG and outdated. Yes, the same menu I grabbed ATTHEREGISTER to point out the pricing. She said the pricing was on the wall for $ 5.50(which of course in no way matches the millions of printed menus, how is a customer supposed to know that?) and that I was being charged $ 1.50 for the peppers. $ 1.50 for PEPPERS!!! She did not have the kindest disposition at all. I felt she was making up her own prices. First almost $ 9 for the meal and suddenly down $ 2, though still significantly more than it should have been. I will never return again. The food was good but I cannot tolerate unjustified practices.

I stopped off the highway on the way home from a business trip in PA. I had to pee so freakin’ bad and I was starving. When I got off the highway, I stopped at a gas station, which didnt have a bathroom available. However, the worker told me about this bagel store and that was a great hook up! The place is nice looking, clean, and has tons of options to fatten your gut! Plus, anywhere that kept me from pissing myself gets a bonus star in my book!

One of the better bagel shop /deli in the area, very clean and good food. I love their breakfast sandwiches and my wife always gets their corn beef or pastrami(which they say they make on site).
