By far one of the best school of the arts in the country. They truly exceed expectations and consistently provide a great educational experience for very talented children of Palm Beach county.

An outstanding school, ranked #46 in the nation by US News for its academics, is also one of the top performing arts high schools in the nation. One of the first high schools to receive a GRAMMY® in the Schools designation, Dreyfoos auditions students from around Palm Beach County for Music(Band, Orchestra, Piano, Jazz, Vocal), Theater, Dance, Fine Arts, Digital Media, and Communications. My middle son was a two-time Florida All-State Jazz musician who graduated DSOA a couple of years ago. It’s an amazing place, with smart, talented, outside-the-box kids who excel in all areas. It’s also one of the most diverse and tolerant schools I’ve ever seen. There is always something amazing happening in every nook and cranny, from the dancers doing college auditions on stage today to the students in the vestibule of the fine arts building working on life masks to the top science teachers in the state working upstairs. The campus is a combination of the charming old buildings that housed Central High School back when Burt Reynolds was a student there, and a college, before Dr. Dreyfoos donated the money to move Palm Beach School of the Arts to its permanent home nearly 25 years ago. It’s a special place, worth applying for under the magnet program, if you’re a high school student with talent, and a wonderful place to go and watch and listen and marvel if you’re a member of the public who will be impressed by the quality of the work being done by these exceptional young artists.
