The service was not good. The overall atmosphere was stressful and chaotic. We got bruschetta as an appetizer which was basically a giant plate of pico de gallo with a small amount of basil and FOUR tiny pieces of bread. I got chicken Marsala as my meal and it honestly reminded me of Golden Corral or something. The smallest little cafeteria scoop of mashed potatoes, a few green beans, and some sad. Overall, extremely subpar and overpriced.

I have only ever had the pizza but it was fantastic! The white pizza was a hit with the kids.

Cute little restaurant. Delicious food. The service is horrible. HORRIBLE!!! The servers are arguing in front of customers, had to ask more water, a dessert menu, no one approached the table for like 20 minutes, the service is just atrocious. Will never return here for jay reason! So inattentive, moody and just rude.

Absolutely horrible service. We went for valentines dinner. It took ten minutes for the hostess to show up and seat us right next to the front door. After a long wait to order we waited over an hour for appetizers to appear. My Mediterranean salad was okay. Nothing special with too much oil and vinegar. My wife’s calamari was good. Then another 45 minutes for our entrees, which were fine. Apparently the kitchen was backed up but our waitress just wandered around and never explained the delay. She did tell us that she forgot to bring our appetizers. Finally, it took quite a long time for the waitress to pick up our credit card after we repeatedly requested our bill Maybe it was an off night but an apology or an offer for a free glass of wine would have eased some of the bad impression. But that didn’t happen I have no interest in returning.

Don’t bother. The food was just so-so, with the sauces«young.» But the service was atrocious. Apparently you are allowed but a single piece of bread. I ordered a veal dish which came with mashed potatoes; I asked if I could have a different starch, such as perhaps a little pasta, and was told I could not substitute. I also asked what the vegetable was and was told broccoli, but the plate arrived with green beans. The least expensive glass of red wine is $ 9; a mediocre Chianti that sells for $ 6 a bottle. The portions were tiny. We had a lovely view of a ~50″ TV, mounted to an unpainted piece of plywood, displaying, of all things, the security camera views of the restaurant. For a white-tablecloth place that aspires to be upscale, this place has a long way to go. For ~$ 35 or so a person, they can offer to substitute a little pasta for potatoes(for crying out loud, I had a pizzaiola — they didn’t even need to spring for more sauce), and afford to give you more than one lousy piece of bread. A spectrum of wines from, say, $ 7 to $ 12 would be better than the current offerings of either $ 9 or $ 10. And the servers ought to know what vegetable is being plated with the entrees. We will not be back.

Café Centro is another of many italo-american restaurants in West Palm Beach. No, it’s not Italian, it’s «Jersey-Italian». Now that we got that clear, it’s a honest place. Food is decent to good, prices are reasonable for PBC. When here I prefer to get an appetizer or a salad, I think they are good values(plus I am not a fan of marsala-francese-piccata-alfredo and all that stuff that many down here think is Italian. I don’t mind stopping here when in the area but I don’t drive to it on purpose. Great to see how the Northwood neighborhood is getting revitalized with all the businesses that opened up in the last 5 years.

I visited this restaurant last night. The hostess was very condescending upon greeting us and gave us a hard time because they hadn’t spelled our reservation name correctly. She acted like she almost could not sit us even though there were three empty tables within eyesight. Two of the meals at our table were not cooked properly and one was uneatable Also, the $$ sign is not correct, this restaurant is at least in the $$$ range for prices.

We just got home from the restaurant and now my wife is cooking herself some dinner. The shrimp was poorly defrosted frozen the carbonara was not carbonara, and if you ask for a manager there was none to be found. After making a reservation to listen to the live music we were put in another room completely without. Although the service was very good, thank you Tor and the restaurant was clean it is very seldom that we go to a place where we can not eat the food.

Good restaurant. There is no kids menu. Ambiance is lovely. Very friendly waiter at the door. Food was good, but the no flour chocolate cake was hard and heavy!!!

My wife and I elected to try out Café Centro in Northwood on December 15th. The restaurant has tasteful décor and the servers are professional dressed in classic high end wait attire. But that’s the best part of our experience. I ordered the Mediterranean Salad which is was OK. My wife ordered the Grouper dinner which included some type of mashed potato and green beans. She was very disappointed with the flavor of all three items saying it lacked taste and flavor. She thought the mashed potato was Betty Crocker’s instant box brand. I had the Veal Masala which lacked both flavor and the proper ingredients, mostly the lack of Masala wine. There was just no flavor in the meal at all. Even the Alfredo Fettuccini I ordered had no flavor. Bland is the understatement for our dinner. You get one roll apiece for your starter that was acceptable but not great. But my biggest complaint for this restaurant is the hidden«service fee» they added in the middle of the check for 20% of the entire bill including tax. Really!!! You charge an automatic 20% service fee without any disclosure and then have a line on the bottom of merchant receipt asking for more gratuity when they return with your credit card. Skip this place and go to Carrabbas Italian Grill and save yourself a lot of money. All smoke and mirrors façade with no culinary experience coming from the kitchen. This was my first and last visit here.

Went out on a Saturday night with 3 other girlfriends. One of my friends suggested the place. Nice ambiance with a piano bar. Had a couple bottles of red wine and the appetizers were very complimenting. Great entertainment. Truly enjoyed the evening! We already made reservations to cone back!

WOW!!! An absolute GEM. I really don’t know where to start and say something about this place. «Café Centro» is a place where you will meet original people, fine dine and have a blast with the wickedest entertainment in town. Been there a couple of times and tried mostly everything on their menu, was never disappointed. Make sure you give them a call and make reservations for the weekend, it gets pretty packed. As for New Years reservations are 2 months prior. My favorite spot!

I would only recommend Café Centro for their Entertainment only… Great music. The food on the hand, lacks any flavor. I hardly ever send food back but my fish dish went back. The waitress did replace my dish with a pasta bolognese which a jar of Ragu tastes better. No spices, no flavor Instant heartburn… Our party of four were very unhappy with… next time if I go back, I would just go for drinks and the music.

The waitstaff was amazing make sure you ask for Tor There was a party there and as stated in other reviews everyone was quite wasted but it did add to the entertainment factor. I had the duck in a pomegranate sauce as recommended by the waiter and it was quite amazing. We also had the Bolognese with angel hair pasta it was quite good in fact we had it for breakfast just throw it in a frying pan and cook it till the pasta gets crisp mmmmm mmmmmmm good The cocktails were quite good but as stated quite expensive but they do know how to make a very good dirty Tito’s Martini three on the stick one in the bottom so you have something to look forward too. I definitely would recommend the place it does have a very cool vibe and the food was quite good

I love this place it has awesome atmosphere which is fantastic for a date night or dinner with friends. The food was excellent as was the service. There were 4 of us for dinner and we all absolutely loved our food and had a great night. I found the prices very affordable and a great variety of Italian dishes to select from. I look forward to a return visit.

The stars are for the entertainment only. The waitstaff and food were terrible… or at least our waiter and the woman helping him were terrible. We were brought here by friends who swore by it and even they were annoyed ten minutes into our visit. The waiter was rude, condescending, and kind of a jerk. He also kept touching me on the shoulder and arm and I was ready to lay him out if he kept it up. It wasn’t a sweet, friendly gesture. It was intimidating and condescending and very apparent in his attitude when he came to our table. He also rudely called out our friends when they weren’t aware of a policy change that was obviously very new and it made everyone at the table uncomfortable and I felt bad for our friends, who are better people than I am because I was ready to rage and walk out. Our friends deserved better than that. The rest of us were just along for the ride and I can tell you that none of us were impressed enough to consider ourselves future customers. The woman who helped deliver the food(maybe a hostess?) reached over me to give food to the person next to me and shoved both her armpits in my face(like, boxed in my head with her arms) without excusing herself or giving me the chance to move out of her way. It was in the 80s and had been raining, so, yeah the weather made an impact on the status of her pits. The food was bland at best. I wasn’t impressed. The entertainment was good, but the crowd skewed old and the poor guy had to play the same old standards you’ll hear at your grandparent’s mid-priced country club. He’s talented, though, and made them bearable if not actually fun(although there’s no saving Bad Bad Leroy Brown, I’m sorry. I don’t know why someone requested that) until he could move on to some more modern stuff. I don’t know if the crowd is always so 65+, though, and we’re not making the drive again to find out. The entertainer deserves a better venue because he’s talented and fun and knew how to work the crowd. The place itself is too small to shove in that many bodies. People were wedged in against the walls and windows and there is only ONE bathroom for each gender. Like, not even stalled bathrooms. Just one toilet. The music does get pretty loud for such a small space. Maybe it was a bad night, I don’t know. But considering the drive required to get there, we won’t be back to see if that was the case.

Greeted warmly with no reservation. Nice décor. Olives on the table and quickly served a nice garlic/parmesan rolls. Not dripping in butter and garlic so enjoyed. Wines by the glass were fairly priced and decent. Cocktails were overpriced so opted out. Delicious beet salad with arugula and goat cheese. Very delicate vinaigrette. Star was the grilled duck breast with pomegranate sauce, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Absolutely fantastic. Wife had the grilled salmon and spinach. No complaints and took some home. Nice ending with a delicious Sandeman port.

We went on a Saturday night and had an absolute blast here. There is entertainment(weekends only, not sure) but it’s kind of irreverent and free flowing with a talented singer/performer that also plays the piano. A regular customer also plays the piano well and freed up the«pro» to moved around the room and to the outside patio. This is not a sit and watch the show and applaud. It’s like a happening with some customers joining in song, clapping and dancing when the feeling moves you. The bartender hits the tambourine and gets the hanging bar lights to swing to the rhythm. Later in the evening they set off some fireworks in front of the building. We’ll get to the food in a second but this place is for the 35 to 60’s year old crowd and made for fun! Also, all of the above takes place while you’re still eating and drinking and that makes it all the better. Our waiter and the service in general were excellent and one server will pick up the slack for another so you’re always well handled. We had a couple of Caesar salads and Spring salads. I’m finding all Caesar salads in restaurants are just average. Haven’t had a good one since it was made table side. Nonetheless, our table had for entrees; Mussels, Osso Bucco(very tender), and Linguine alla Carbonara. All were really good, served hot and prepared in a classic Italian style. The food is good(and relatively reasonably priced) with excellent service and deserves 4 stars. The vibe, music and fun earns a strong 5 stars. I haven’t had this much fun since I saw my mother-in-law’s picture on a milk carton.
