8−24−15UPDATEINRESPONSETOMIKEGREEN’S COMMENTBELOW(OWNER, PREMIERROLLOUTAWNINGSOFPALMBEACH, INC): 1.) His statement is completely inaccurate; in fact, we’re a disgruntled«prospect customer» of his who after extensive research, we ended up buying our super high quality, Florida Building Code Approved retractable awning from a diff much more honest & reliable retractable awning company and we couldn’t be happier! We’re not a competitor(in fact, I just retired after 35 years in my own business), and when we found out that he lies, cheats, intentionally misleads and deceives consumers, that’s when we became so compelled to write such a review in an effort to warn any of his future victims. All just lame EXCUSES Mike! 2.) He disputes nothing I had said originally since everything posted below in my original review on 1−25−15 is 100% TRUE! Call the Florida Building Commission in Tallahassee, FL at(850) 487‑1824 to verify the most up-to-date Florida Building Code — wind load requirements for retractable awnings(btw — they just updated this code again in the new 2014 Florida Building Code put into law June 30, 2015!). He simply CANNOT prove his retractable awnings are Florida Building Code Approved, specifically to be able to withstand 115MPH winds while the awning is fully open… so basically he fraudulently sells and installs ILLEGAL awnings… okay, go ahead and buy one, but ATYOUROWNRISK! Look for yourself(2014FBC Sec 3105.5.1) … 3.) He absolutely uses very sleazy sales & marketing tactics like increasing the price 40% and then reducing it 40% when he does a written estimate for someone. He advertises that his so-called 40% OFF special is ONLY good until the end of the month, when of course, he uses this sleazy marketing tactic every single month. Sorry, Mike but you’re shady like a Used Car Salesman or Stockbroker Pushing«Penny Stocks!» 4.) In our opinion, Angie’s List is more of a sham… contractors like Mike at Premier Rollout Awnings of Palm Beach, Inc. are highly rated there ONLY because they pay for advertising and YOU pay to «belong» to Angie’s List… um, no thank you when other places are free; Unilocal and other places like this online provide more accurate and more unbiased reviews from real consumers for free! His so-called«awards» from Angie’s List are a.) a joke — all old from years past and b) «bought» since he’s the ONLY retractable awning company that actually is stupid enough to pay to advertise in their printed magazine and online. _______________________________________________________________________ STAYAWAY from this guy and company, Premier Rollout Awnings of Palm Beach, Inc! We had a very bad experience with Mike & Premier Rollout Awnings of Palm Beach, Inc. It turns out he’s basically a guy who LIES&CHEATS just to make the sale! His ads say he’s been in business selling awnings since 1986, but we checked with the state of Florida and he’s been in business since 2003(which is actually okay being in business for 11 years but why does he lie about it???). He claims to be the only retractable awning manufacturer in Palm Beach County, but we found out that’s not true either. He pretends he gives you a 40% off discount(like his ad says, but it’s «only good through the end of the month») but we checked his ads from previous months and even previous years, and his ad always says that… on the estimate he did for us, he just jacked up the price 40%, and then simply deducted 40% off. Wow, what a sneaky dirty trick! Then, he told us that his awning only included a stupid hand crank for that price, but if we wanted a motor, wind sensor and remote control, he would gladly add them on for an additional price(while the other companies just include all 3 with theirs). Lastly, his ads say his retractable awning is Florida building code approved. Then, we were shown the actual most up to date FL Bldg Code for retractable awnings by a representative from another company(not Mike from Premier) and it turns out that Premier’s awnings are NOT Florida building code approved, so Barbara and everyone else who has Mike’s Premier awnings… they’re actual illegal according to the state of Florida!!! We know… we called The Florida Building Commission in Tallahassee, FL to verify. That code that Mike talks about(the one he mentions in his ads) is NOT the FL Bldg Code for a retractable awning!!! Also — at least on our estimate, he was MOREEXPENSIVE than the other local retractable awning companies we had come give us estimates. We hope everyone sees through this guy & his sneaky tactics! BEWARE!!!
