The place is OK depending on what you’re looking for. Highly populated Hispanic market which made no difference to me as a black woman, but may bother others. Guess it depends on what you’re used to. I didn’t try any of the food so I can’t comment on that. But there were quite a few stand operating and everyone just seemed busy bustling around either trying to make a sale or find one. Its worth a quick look if you’re in the area.

The food at La Belenciana has been good everytime we have visited! The chicken/potatos and rice is great and has a totally home made taste. We have had different servers each time however they have all been kind and great at their job! Never had a bad experience in several visits. The birds sold in the middle store always catch my eye, cant beat the selections and prices I have seen! I saw other comments mentioning the crowd and children and I do have to agree, most workers have their children as well as the customers and not many are well mannered! Music being played is not in English nor do you hear much English spoken by most!

As a flea market junkie, I had to make a stop at the Sunshine Flea Market. This gem is tucked away in a plaza at Forest Hill and Military. Mostly a Hispanic crowd, this flea market is air conditioned, which in my opinion makes it a step above most. There are alot of kids running around, which makes it difficult to navigate, probably since they have a tiny game room in the back. There are alot of empty booths which disappointed me but the remaining booths are worth a look. There is one lady in the last aisle to the right that has fabulous purses, if you are looking for caliber purses, this booth is for you.
