Amazing food, great ambiance and great service. EVERYTHING is homemade and delicious. I especially like the desserts– homemade sorbets are to die for.

Had dinner here. Absolutely nothing that would make me want to come back. I had looked at their menu online and planned to order the shrimp, but when we looked at the menu in the restaurant and then asked, they didn’t have any. The waitress highly recommended the lobster, which is the meat from two very small claws and a tail split in half in a tomato au jus for $ 29. Based on her recommendation, three of us ordered the lobster and all thought the meat in the tail was undercooked and mushy. The tomato au jus was pretty tasteless. The lobster came with spaghetti squash and as I not a squash lover, I asked if I could have the potatoes that came with another dish. The waitress said I would love the spaghetti squash, as it went so well with the lobster. As soon as I tasted it, I knew I didn’t like it and ask her if I could have the potatoes, which were better. I didn’t see the bill, but learned today that they had charged $ 5. for the potatoes. Really? I doubt that anyone in our group will be back. I know we won’t.

What a gem. We stumbled across Global Palate while on a family vacation to New Paltz, and we couldn’t have been luckier. All three of us agreed that it was the best meal of our week-long trip. We were there for brunch. The menu was right up our alley – local, high quality ingredients. Among our selections: a local-mushroom and cheddar omelet; nettle soup; an excellent salad; a waffle with seasonal berries; and some unforgettable house-baked breads. Dessert(fresh blueberry pie with homemade ginger ice cream) was equally fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

When I discovered my absolute favorite Indian restaurant had closed in New Paltz, I was very disappointed. It was always a nice treat to drive the back roads for an hour to get away to a cozy restaurant with tasty menu selections, and gluten free items. Upon searching the area for another spot in the area, the Global Palate popped up, with gluten free items listed right on the menu. We took a chance, and drove the hour + in hopes of another celiac-friendly destination spot. I was so pleased with the Duck entrée, wine selection, friendly staff, and cozy dining area, I’ll definitely be back soon.

I forgot about how much I like this place. If you want great night out for real fresh and wonderful food this is a shining star. Started with a freshly prepared clam/corn chowder not too heavy just right my wife had the Ceasar salad again fresh an well prepared. A pork chops again nailed it ! Thi lobster bowl NICE! But desert blew me away… this chef really loves desert has to have 30 or so ice cream concoctions but we zeroed in on the banana chocolate peanut bread pudding(sounds like too much but believe me it works)

I ate dinner here tonight. Very small portions. And it is NOT cheap. The décor is uninspired. The food tasted good although the way they presented the bread for example was bizarre — I wish I would have taken a photo. 4 teeny tiny slivers of bread folded into a napkin with a pat of butter about a quarter or half of a teaspoon sized. Presented like it was this special thing. For two people. The turkey pot pie tasted good and was well made but basically very small. One of the strangest dining experiences I’ve had.

A musty odor upon entering the restaurant should be corrected… Food was creative and well prepared but extremely small portions(Reminded me of 1980s Nouvelle). Home made ice cream very good but miniscule portion… short pours on the wine as well. Will give another chance…

Excellent food. Excellent bar. I am a martini fan and this place makes a real martini. They have top shelf gin, vodka, bourbon, and big glasses. Great food and good sized drinks is always a winning combination. It’s also a nice looking place — very sharp and classy. It is worth the money.

I can’t believe I am the first person to review here. More people need to discover this place. First of all, I would give it 5 stars for cuisine and service. I gave 4 because the ambiance needs a little help. Our server was delightful and attentive without hovering. My husband thought she was the owner because she was so knowledgeable. She steered us away from one wine and towards another which was terrific. The menu was innovated and fresh. The execution was flawless from apps to desert. Here is my ambience critique: The music selection was perfect. The whole place needed the help of a designer. It is in an amazing old house but lacked that feel of history, roots, or significance which could so easily be brought out with such great bones. But the saddest drawback was the horrific smell of floral Glade plug in. Nothing is more unappetizing. If smell needs to be enhanced, at lease use a food scent like vanilla or something. But overall, totally worth stopping in for.

I have been driving past this place since I started working nearby and I was intrugied. I stopped by Thursday and was thoroughly impressed. Before stopping by I reviewed the menu online and everything looked amazing. To my luck, they had a prix fixe menu on Wednesday and Thursday. For my appetizer I had a wonderful spinach salad with local peaches. My dinner was a delicious goat cheese quesidilla. For dessert I had a strawberry peach cupcake. The cake was a bit dry, but still so good. There were fresh strawberries in the icing. it was the best icing I’ve ever had. I must go back.

Truly a spectacular spot. We stopped in early; we were the first table of the evening at 5pm but with our baby in tow it was just as well. He was provided a high chair & a very warm welcome from staff. Our cocktails were divine and meals superb. I can’t wait to go back and further explore this inventive, creative menu by chef Jessica, esp for brunch. Bravo.

A solid 4 stars! Went here for my mom’s birthday brunch. We sat outside on the patio right in the front. She ordered a heirloom tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella omelet with multi grain toast and small heirloom potatoes. My dad got a classic BLT with all local ingredients, potato and dill toast and heirloom potatoes as well. I got the triple summer squash, garlic chive and local goat cheese omelet with a mixed green salad w/raspberry vinaigrette as well as some apple wood smoked bacon on the side. For dessert, we shared blueberry and peach pancakes. Overall the food was DELICIOUS! The portions were just right and very filling. Food presentation was executed very well and we read that the restaurant sources many local farms for its ingredients. I am taking off one star for the service. Our waitress was nice but she seemed to be in a bad mood and wasn’t too friendly. The patio was nice but could have used a good sweep. We were given seat cushions though so it was fine. Overall, recommended for the food and the lovely atmosphere!

Here is a Chef with a true appreciation of the intrinsic qualities of each and every item she prepared! It was without question one of the best meals we(party of five) have had in a long time! The cocktails were creatively named(oo lala a French Blonde Martini) and perfectly balanced. The wine list included a few local options, and we went with a NY grown French Cab, but there was an extensive list. We sampled a smoky, tender prawn appetizer that had my olfactory senses firing full blast – that grilled charcoal whiff – ahh! The prawns sat on a crisp, tangy bed of fresh fresh greens. The quail egg trio appealed to the experimenter in me., one of them partnered a tiny sunnyside up egg with miniature red and yellow, fresh off the vine tomatoes, another of the trio was a tiny pickled egg parked squarely in the center of a sharp and tangee kimchee-like combination. The lentil soup was pronounced ‘incredible’ by my European husband and his mother. Hand foraged mushrooms in brandy was a bit butter-heavy for my taste, but it disappeared quickly, regardless! Two of our main dishes included special duck prepared two ways and grilled porkchops with aromatic sauerkraut bursting with the aromas of caraway and vinegar. Somehow, Chef Jessica must have read my mind, because the light dessert I was craving was the special of the night: her homemade peach sorbet, dressed with blackberries and a touch of fresh whipped cream. I don’t think it contained one speck of added sugar and was one of the most perfectly refreshing things I have tasted all Summer. Kudos to Chef Jessica for preparing her foods without the common heavy handed use of salt, sugar, and other flavor enhancing tricks. A meal here is definitely for a discerning palate. Food is prepared to engage all the senses. Service was moderately slow, but completely appropriate and pleasant for savoring a special meal and special occasion. Overall, one of the best places we have discovered in the Hudson Valley. I plan to visit often, as the menu, per the waitress, is ‘constantly changing’ – and, besides, I didn’t get to taste everything!

The food was superb and innovative. Particularly impressive was the parpadelle, which was fresh made with local fresh herbs and sugar snap peas. The ambiance was of a country farm house and the service was superb. We start out with fresh biscuits straight from the oven. Cannot go wrong with that, eh? Appetizer: grilled Belgian endive with asparagus and roasted red peppers. Delicious, light, and perfectly seasoned. As mentioned, I got the parpadelle entrée, and my husband got the pork sliders. Both were fantastic. The homemade pickles with the sliders were especially noteworthy. Finally, for dessert we had the rhubarb and strawberry crumble with ginger ice cream, which was excellent. Highly recommended place!

Astoundingly good food. Gluten free fried calamari! Gluten free brownie sundae! My boyfriend and I shared the steak, which was more than enough food. Cute setting. Server was good at her job but juggling too many tables, so slow meal. Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I planned our anniversary trip to the Hudson Valley around dinner at Global Palate. We were not disappointed. We started our meal with a round of drinks including their Caramel Apple Martini: $ 12 and worth it; delicious and strong though drinkable. We shared three appetizers including the lobster french onion soup, the global palate salad and the salmon and mushroom potstickers. The potstickers rocked my global palate, would have loved a second order. For the entrée we shared the Lobster tortellini and the Global Palate burger. Both excellent. We ordered the burger medium rare and it came out more rare, which we didn’t mind. For dessert, we shared the gluten free brownie with ice cream. they have a huge selection of specialty ice cream flavors made locally. Many gluten-free choices on the menu. So glad we got to celebrate at GP and looking forward to next year for another trip.
