Good pizza, yummy fried chicken. Everything we ordered was good, workers very nice and clean tables. Which is a must.

It’s a buffet setup. Pizza, salad bar, plus fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Food was good and hot but nothing that makes you go «OMG… in my mouth right now!». The dessert pizza was decadent and I definitely felt stuffed walking out. Ok, the dessert pizza was good enough that my 85 yr. old grandmother felt inclined to save the last half of her dessert pizza in a napkin and put it in her pocket. That counts for something, right? If you’re good and hungry… stop here. They do have a decent selection of pizzas and the cool part is that if they don’t have they type you want out… you can just let them know. They will cook a fresh one and deliver you the first piece.

I was spending the day fishing near West Point with friends and we decided to drive into town for lunch. Pizza Ranch was the unanimous choice. What could possibly be bad about a place where you can have pizza with a side of fried chicken? We arrived right as the buffet opened, so there was not much food out yet. One of the servers politely asked if we would like any particular pizzas at the buffet. We asked for the newest sweet chili pizza and several minutes later they brought it to our table so we could have the first crack at it before it hit the buffet. Now that is incredible service! It was a very unique, but delicious pizza. Everything at the buffet was nice and fresh since it was just being stocked for the afternoon. Normally fried chicken from a buffet line is rather dry, but it was very moist and delicious today and the mashed potatoes hadn’t developed that nasty crust around the edges of the pan yet. The cactus bread dessert pizza was the highlight of the meal. I had to go back for seconds, then thirds of this delicious cinnamony warm treat. As we dined the place filled up and it was nice to see that nothing ever sat out under the buffet heat lamps for too long before it was replaced. As with any Buffet, I’m sure it’s best to be early, or at a time it’s fairly full of people to ensure fresh food. There are better pizza joints and better fried chicken places out there, but Pizza Ranch does both extremely well under one roof for an incredible price. Next time I find myself in West Point I’ll be sure to hit up the Pizza Ranch again.
