My husband and I both had the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was good. The sauce was different, and not the good kind of different. Just blah. However, my sides were perfect. Their fried okra and slaw was delicious(and their saving grace).

Service was good and timely. Everyone was friendly and it was a comfortable place for lunch. The food was lackluster. If you like canned BBQ and veggies, then this place is for you.

Tried their stew and bbq pork sandwich. It has been a long time since I have had BBQ that was this bad. The sandwich was slop on a bun. It was dipped out of a big vat of bbq slop. Poorly cooked meat, no seasoning evident, and a nasty corn syrup tasting sauce. BBQ should not be spooned on to a sandwich. The stew was also uninspired. It was extremely bland, and had been put in a grinder or blender so that the stew slop had a finer texture than the bbq slop. The sign says they have been in business for decades. My only question is HOW?

I originally wrote this review of the Roger’s in Hogansville, GA, because I was obviously confused about where exactly we were. Sorry Roger’s in Hogansville! So here is my review of this Roger’s: My husband and I were on a day cruise on the motorycle and stopped in for something to eat. We both ordered the bbq plate which came with fries and slaw. First the good part: the bbq wasn’t bad. Their recipe uses mustard but that was fine. We should have stuck with just the sandwich because both the fries and slaw were terrible. The fries tasted like fish because they use the same oil(I know, this isn’t uncommon) and the slaw was honestly the most bland slaw I have ever tasted. I read another review where the slaw was good but it wasn’t last Saturday. Maybe the cook forgot to put in any seasoning but it was seriously lacking. I didn’t eat it past the first taste. It honestly tasted like cabbage and mayonnaise. My husband put some salt and pepper on his but it just couldn’t be salvaged. The sweet tea was fine, though. Will we go back? No. I was so excited, too, because we love sampling bbq places while we’re out in various areas. I guess they can’t all be winners. Btw, the special of the day was deep fried ribeye and gravy. I know you can pretty much deep fry anything but really? A ribeye?
