On the Fringe

Great service, and a very sociable staff! Extremely comfortable environment, and the stylists know what they are doing. I had Mandy and it turned out great, it is by far the best haircut I have ever gotten! Definitely a go to for anyone looking for a great salon with talented stylists!

I walked into On the Fringe on a whim one day, when I decided I wanted some bangs. The stylist, Katie, not only gave me bangs but a face-​framing fringe that carried me over to my next full cut looking stylish. I was so impressed with what Katie did, I scheduled my next full cut with her. I asked for short wispy layers in my very long hair. I had recently moved to Reading from Philly, and had been asking this of my Center City stylist for some time. She never seemed able to pull it off. Katie gave me exactly what I was looking for.
When my friend from Schuylkill County wanted to color her hair for the first time, but was a little nervous and unsure where to go, I recommended we visit On the Fringe. With a little guidance from the salon owner – and help from her assistant, Ally – Katie took my friend’s slightly graying, medium brown hair to a sun-​kissed light brown. In the first application, the highlights were a little more gold that my friend or Katie expected, but Katie immediately remedied it. In the end, my friend’s hair looked subtle and natural and exactly as she had hoped.
Choosing a salon in salon-​saturated West Reading can be a bit like shooting in the dark. Fortunately, I hit my target with On the Fringe.

My regular stylist moved from the area, and I am very picky about my hair. I took a chance here today and was wowed!!! Sabrina was very professional and the rest of the staff were really friendly as well! My day had been going a little rough, and these girls really made me feel better and look great! The salon is beautiful and airy and located right on Penn Ave in the heart of trendy West Reading. I was able to park in the lot across the street for free, but there was a lot of street parking available right around the location too.
