I was looking for some peanut brittle to bring to my father who was recovering in the hospital. I hadn’t had any luck until I called Baums. They were actually out of peanut brittle but told me they would make a batch specifically for me and call me when it was ready. I received a call within a couple of hours and later picked up the best peanut brittle I have ever had. Combine that kind of service with the super friendly staff and you certainly have a winner. Thanks Baums for the kind of service you rarely find these days and for helping to put a smile on my Dads face.

Never again will a Hersheys or Nestles imitation chocoloate pass my discerning lips!

We had such a good time here tonight. Tasted flavored popcorn, checked out all of the fun gifts. Great staff, super friendly.

My heart(and family) have a soft spot for Baum’s Candy. We’ve been going here for years, at both the old and new location. My dad is a frequent visitor picking up truffles to have with port, chocolate covered pretzels as a snack, and, of course, chatting with the manager. Everyone there is very friendly and exceptionally helpful. I went in a couple of weeks ago looking for something special for my bridesmaids. The manager was great! She helped me pick out the perfect snacks for my girls. I was able to try different options. I ended up getting the lemon crème covered almonds(to die for) and chocolate covered espresso beans. They were a hit! She also wrapped them in separate little baggies with ribbons. I recently moved back into the area and can’t wait to have Baum’s as a regular stopping point to treat myself and my husband(after we hit the gym, of course.) Of note, they just added ice cream/gelato — YUM!

I went to this chocolatier when it was in my ‘hood in Richland, but I finally made it to their new location(still on Van Giesen), in West Richland. What can I say, we’re lucky to have an honest to goodness locally-owned candy/chocolate shop in our area. I have a sweet tooth like a demon, so this place can be dangerous, but as long as I tie one arm behind my back, I’m ok. Under the glass, they have tons of choices to fulfill your chocolate needs. They also have quite a few gift items(most looked locally made). So, if you are fixin’ ta make a gift basket for that special someone, they can hook you up. Or if you just want to get all messy and have a chocolaty face & hands, this is your Xanadu.

Originally Baums House of Chocolates, as soon as you walk in, it gives you that At-Home/chocolate-y smell everyone loves. I loved going there with my mom as a kid when she worked at Catholic Family like, right across from it. I would go there every day, be met(and pretty damn well known) by the owners, and they would know exactly what I wanted. Every day it was the same, jelly beans, their amazing almond park, choco pretzels, and AMAZINGLYAMAZING orange truffles. I would buy them by the ton. XD But then they sold it to a new owner, and they knew me just as well, but it was sad and not quite the same. But it is still beautiful and delicious. I don’t go there much any more, but i love them just the same. Horrifying Fact: They are currently re-locating, so I won’t know where the new place is.(insert madly crying phase here). Our love holds strong, even though I don’t know where the hell they are going to relocate. Baums Candy FOREVER!
