I don’t know why, but I love the French fries here. Crispy, crunchy, brown with skin and perfectly salted!
So far all the other stuff has been great also. Had the fish tacos a few times. They are great, a really nice combo of fried fish, avocado and cilantro. The pastrami Reuben is good too. It’s on a bulkie roll — so a slightly different take — but we loved it. Especially paired with those fries!

Had a couple meals here and it definitely gets two thumps up from me. The burger is outstanding. Big, juicy and the red onion relish (sauce) puts it over the top. It comes with fries — which are crispy and salty — very good but also too many for me. I’d prefer less of them and add some slaw. Which I know they have because the Fish and Chips is the other meal and it came with some innovative cole slaw. The Fish and Chips were good and worthy of mention but with many other entrees calling my name — and the burger, having me call its name, probably will be taken out of the starting rotation. The bar is not too large (about 10 stools) but so far been able to get seats. Service is friendly and quick. The crowd has always been friendly and talkative. It states Beer and Wine only on the Unilocal feature — this is not true — it has a full bar.

I’ve been here a few times since July of 2015. Fresh, versatile menu, lots of beers and exceptional service. You can’t beat this place, nice crowd, quiet and something for everyone. All food items seem to be prepared from scratch. I’ve had the tomato soup, kale soup and beef stew. All 5 stars. I’ve also had a couple of different salads and they too are crisp and fresh. This is my new favorite place!

This restaurant is such a gem. Amazing burgers, excellent and wide variety beer selection, and I’m not one to rave about salads, but they have the BEST panko crusted chicken Caesar salad. Well worth a trip here.

Porter Café is as close to becoming a Gastro Pub as West Roxbury will ever see (Eating Jack O’Neill – little to no confidence there after seeing their menu, either).
So WHY is it that getting a burger prepared to order is such a difficult task for Porter? Even on Sunday’s where their burger, called Humpty Dumpty, which boasts a fried egg on top, is not consistently well prepared. Saturday brunch Ordered a medium rare Humpty Dumpty. It came with a well-​done fried egg on top of a well-​done burger — quality control? Uh… not

Had an awesome, relaxing brunch here this morning. Everything was delicious and my daughter devoured her chocolate chip pancakes! Drinks were great the atmosphere was very causal and relaxing. Nice experience at this off the path establishment.

This is my regular bar. The staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly! I come here because I love their beer selection. New and different local beers pop up all the time! Great pub food selection as well. They just added more outdoor seating on the side of the building! Always a recommendation for people who ask me!

Ate at Porter Café tonight after a long day. I had the seasonal risotto with shrimp and bacon. It was really delicious. My husband had the scampi, which he liked (but he preferred mine). Service was quick and friendly. It’s a little pricey, but seems the norm for the neighborhood. Space is tight – probably best for groups no bigger than 3.

Cute little pub!
I was surprised at how good the food here is. Every visit we try something new, and it is always delicious. The mussels, bacon mac and cheese, the cheese plater, etc, etc.
The place is cozy and the staff always so friendly. This place is a hidden gem!

Very cool place, and much needed in the West Roxbury area.
To celebrate getting new digs in WR, my wife and I went here because it looked like the closest thing to a great gastropub.
Place is a little tight inside, but nicely laid out. Food was good and not so good. I see the burger is really popular here, but I didn’t really like it. The style of meat they use was the culprit, as everything else on it was great. My wife got the pasta special and it was AWESOME. Next time, I’ll be sure to try the short rib stew!
They have a very good craft beer selection, sounds like the best available in the area– so major props to that.
Great service rounds things out. I’ll be back. MANY more times I’m sure…

Small place so get there early if you get annoyed with waiting for a table
