Super good carne asada. Well seasoned without being greasy or fatty. I prefer to put equal parts of all available salsas with lemon on top. The flavor is complex and layered but still balanced. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot if you’re in the area.

I have eaten there twice now and I really like it. Their prices are very reasonable and the portions are good size. Just yesterday I ordered vegetarian nachos with extra veggies and I was really excited with all of the various vegetables they included plus I had my choice of beans ! Their chips and salsa bar was also very acceptable. The chairs and tables are clean and comfortable and the Staff seemed sincerely concerned about my satisfaction. I’ll be back for sure and I sure wish they were open on Sundays also but until that changes I will live with their need for some time off ! Joel !

It’s just one of your standard quick service Mexican places and if I didn’t live so close to this restaurant, I wouldn’t even bother. Sometimes, you just want more than just Taco Bell, you know? The price for the food is okay but as some other people have said, the ingredients weren’t that amazing. You can really tell that some of the ingredients aren’t that fresh at all. I’ve also eaten here and sometimes part of the burrito’s or the nachos’ cheese wasn’t melted properly which is kind of annoying. It’s located right by I-80 near a Starbucks and a 7-Eleven so it’s in a pretty convenient spot if you’re driving. I recommend getting the el jefe burrito. That thing is a beast. Overall, it’s just okay. It’s not anything great or anything that bad either. It’s just whatever. If you’re craving Mexican food, then this will probably satisfy you. But if you’re looking for something better, then definitely go somewhere else.

This place extremely dissatisfying I ordered a carne Asada burrito which had a pound of rice and two scoops of meat. If you are a lover of rice highly recommend. The one star is for the amazingly grilled tortilla(that’s not hard) if you are allergic to rice run far far away. TACOBELLISTWOEXITSDOWN.

I was very happy with my food experience at Sancho’s. To begin with, the lady at the front is very nice and it was very fast service. I ordered the superior nachos and they were delicious! In other reviews the food was referred to as bland but there is nothing bland about this food. It isn’t over-salted like many other Mexican restaurants make their food. The salsa tasted fresh and the chips were home made. I will definitely be going here again!

I really wanted to like this place because the people working here are super nice. After having lunch here a second time, here is my review… The price is pretty standard with what you would find at most quick service Mexican places, but the ingredients are rather inferior. Everything is pre-made, from a can, and not heated properly. Nothing is prepared fresh, merely assembled. It’s pretty standard for most Mexican places to own a broiler for melting cheese, toasting tortillas, etc, but they do not seem to own one. So, the shredded cheese on my nachos failed to melt. It’s a shame, since I really wanted this place to be good to spare me the drive to La Favorita. West Sacramento is a haven for great Mexican food, but some driving is required. The guacamole is the watery, processed kind that white people buy at the grocery store in the deli section. It’s identical to the kind served at Taco Bell.

Placed order for four plain mini tacos. I told the c asher no onion no cilantro no green goo. The cashier even wrote this on the order form. Open the to go box when I’m home. Yup, covered in green goo and onions and cilantro. Jerks. The taco truck up the road is far better than this white washed«mexican».

Food tasted average at best and the tortilla was burnt. The burrito was missing half the ingredients that was advertised on the menu, no guacamole, pico de gallo or sour cream. On the first visit the wait was extremely long in excess of thirty minutes with a decent amount of patrons. On the second visit giving them the benefit of the doubt since it was their opening week, I walked in being the only customer after lunch rush and still waited twenty minutes to get my once again burnt tortilla burrito missing ingredients. It’s a less then 2 minute drive from my work, but I’d rather driver farther for better food.

Mexican food is probably my favorite of all so I like to try out new places. Here we came for lunch. We were so disappointed. I wanted it to be better. Service and atmosphere was good so they get an extra star for that but the food was SO not good. One word description: Bland. It was hospital food bland. My friend said it tasted like everything came out of a can. I should have known with the thing they call«Fresh Guacamole» was just green goo. It was pale green. Some goos are tolerable but this one I had to scrape off in order to eat my meal. Places that cannot do real Guac with PURE avocado, I am wary of and rightfully so. I would not mind paying for it either but please don’t advertise it as Fresh Guacamole. Its Avocado flavored goo. I want to see actual hunks of avocado and it should be thick not runny. The taco was full size but the tortilla was not grilled. It was cold and dry. The meat had no seasoning at all! I got the Jefe Burrito and it was the same. Looked big and hearty but when I cut into it, there was hardly any meat. My pic is a cut through the middle of it where meat should definitely be. It was actually somewhat flat. Most super burritos are fat and round. They have a chips and salsa bar and love that they had Pico De Gallo but it hardly had any tomatoes in it and was mostly onions so it too lacked flavor. The red sauce was just like a hot sauce and it was ordinary. I finally just picked through and ate the meat thinking I needed the protein but the rest was just filler. The only edible item was the chips. They were fresh and crispy. I don’t know how people think this was overly good? And they were a little busy so I don’t get it? There are a lot of mexican food places in West Sac to choose from and you come here? I just think there is just too much competition here for them to be able to compete. La Rosa Taqueria is my go to for authentic $ 1.50 street tacos and they use real avocados.

The #7 El Jefe burrito is a tasty bargain at $ 6.15. Bonus points to Sancho’s for warming up the tortilla on the griddle rather than using a steamer, which results in a mushy burrito. Conveniently located right off I-80. I’ll be stopping by on my frequent drives to the Sierras from SF. The salsa bar could use some improvement. They only had pico de gallo and a hot red salsa. I’d love to see more options.

Good food and service, quesadillas and burritos are good. Carnitas are fresh and good. Ingredients are fresh. Friendly service. It would be nice if the had alcohol but oh well… Would recommend.

I’m a first timer here and I must say I’m a pleasantly full and satisfied. The food for the 12 bucks I paid for the #35 el jefe and a street taco. Delicious and it was food that is well seasoned. Recommended for authentic Mexican food truck style. Worth a try for sure! Only issue was the kitchen is in the open so the restaurant is warm on the inside but not uncomfortable and so outside seating may be better for some.

Long live tacos! After a serious bout of Texas homesickness today I was in search of a taco joint to stop the sadness, Sancho’s! I’ve never actually ordered Carne Asada in a taco before today. I’m more of a chicken or ground beef sort of girl, but I branched out. I liked the texture of the beef, you could tell it had been marinated because it had nice flavor. It was topped with fresh pico and came with a side of creamy avocado with strong lime flavoring, the perfect thing to pair with steak. I also tried a chicken quesadilla with a side of sour cream. The chicken was very well prepared. It was juicy and went well with the cheese in the quesadilla. The portion was absolutely enormous, they are really generous here — you are not going to leave hungry. I was totally full after just a slice of my order! I do wish I had grabbed salsa from the salsa bar. Darn! Next time for sure. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly here. Isabelle was very gracious at the counter and suggested items based on what I told her I liked. There were large pots cooking away on the top of the stove. The food is fresh! Isabelle offered me a water while I was waiting. The wait time wasn’t bad at all, by the way. If you need a fresh, quick, affordable meal I would come right to Sancho’s! I look forward to trying them again, especially more of their specialty tacos like the«Don Quijote Taco» which is described as «2 full size corn tortillas and fill the middle with your choice of meat, re-fried or whole beans, chopped onions & cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo salsa, and top it off with fresh guacamole.» So many flavors, so little time!

So many take the simplicity of the common taco for granted. I’m here to tell you that Sancho’s does your basic taco better than most small taquerias in Sacramento, and each meal is backed by a small business owner with a lot of passion and heart. I know better than anyone that it’s hard to get excited about eating something you’ve probably eaten many times. But the carne asada tacos were big and packed full of flavor. The meat was perfectly seasoned and chopped, the homemade pico de gallo chock full of fresh, juicy tomato and cilantro. At under 8 bucks for two tacos with rice and beans, I can’t remember the last time I ate such an affordable lunch. The refried beans are also some of the best I’ve had in some time. My spotless plate said it all. The owner is a wonderful woman who stands behind each dish. She came around to my table to ask how my meal was and I felt like a customer at her personal kitchen counter. Overall, it’s just a really nice spot for a casual lunch or dinner. I’m not always out in West Sacramento, but when I am you can bet I’ll be eating lunch at Sancho’s!

Quick to be served Strange menu What’s with the Sacramento area and French fries on everything INCLUDING Mexican food I had a Calexico burrito(no fries) Carné Asada had«some flavor» Pico was bland The cheese was good Flour tortilla bland and cold Actually the burrito was cold in general Slap my hand for not grabbing some of their salsa for some added umph, but I didn’t see any containers to put it in. They were quick and friendly though.

I went in Sancho’s to order 2 simple dishes, a bean burrito and a beanito bowl. The woman asked me if I wanted whole or refried beans, I said whole beans on both. So I was told my food was ready. My mistake was not checking my order when they gave it to me. I only had half hour for lunch and was trying to rush back so I can get a few bites in. Mistake #1:When I got to work, I took a bite of my bean burrito, refried beans! No! I wanted whole beans. Mistake #2: I went to open up the other one, staring at me was whole pinto beans but not topped with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and Pico de gallo as how the menu described it. Just naked beans! This was a $ 3.95 item, I know this was a mistake! I was so mad, and hungry, and my lunch half hour was pretty much gone. But since I paid over $ 7, plus tip, for my food, I was pretty pissed off too. So I called and told the woman politely of the error. She told me I should have asked for the toppings if I wanted them. I said HUH! WHAT! Your menu says topped with” and not«asked me to add the toppings you obviously paid for.» She said come back and we’ll give you the toppings on the beans like she was doing me a favor . I really wanted to put this behind me so went back to get this mess straightened out. I went in and asked for Isabella. I told her the same over the phone how my order got screwed up. She said exactly what she told me over the phone, that I basically had to be the one to tell them what should be in my order. And to take it to the next level of insult, she tells me that I should have ordered by the number next to the description of each food item. Gosh, I had no idea I did it all wrong. My apologies for not doing it correctly and for you charging me extravagantly on just beans. This really left a bad taste in my mouth. After she put the sour cream, guacamole and Pico in little Itty bitty cups, and sprinkled the cheese over my cold, naked beans, all I wanted to do was go back to work so I don’t get in trouble. This was not a pleasant first visit. I ended up not eating my food. Can’t and no desire to anymore. I should have just asked for my money back. I like patronizing local businesses especially new ones, but first impressions lasts a while with me. Sadly to say their free chips were also not fresh. Not coming or recommend Sancho. Hopefully you guys learn from your mistakes and do better as you go along. But for me it’s, hasta never. Update: Crying but I had no choice but to nosh on my soggy stale chips since my blood sugar went down. Also My burrito was so poorly wrapped that the entire bag was swimming in bean juice. You need to wrapped your to go stuff better. Yeah I should let it go, but I had high hopes for you Sancho. So, so, so disappointed.

I was excited to see a new restaurant in this industrial park area of West Sac. Gave them a try for lunch one day. They opened about a week ago, so the place is very clean and everything is shiny and new. The menu is pretty limited, and you have three meat choices: chicken, carne asada, and ground turkey. I ordered a three taco plate, two carne asada, and one chicken. I paid $ 10.64. The chicken taco was ok, the meat was tender but bland, no seasoning at all. It was topped with guacamole sauce, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cilantro. It was wrapped in double corn tortillas. The carne asada was dry, chewy, and bland. Again, no seasoning at all. I won’t be returning due to bland food, and very limited menu choices. Spice it up, and offer more things!
