Sunset Inn & Suites

Between this and the Bates motel, I’ll choose the Bates motel. At least there the owner had the decency to put guests out of their misery.
I had to put my clothes on top of the sheets cause they looked so gross. Sadly this was the only hotel in town and I’m a Pilot with a flight the next day so I had to either sleep there or in the cockpit. I thought about it very hard.

Excellent! The front desk was extremely kind to us and made us feel very welcome, and the rooms were nice too. Overall it was a great stay.

I stayed here one night on September 29, 2013. It was relatively easy to find (I had never been to the greater Sacramento area before). While the general area borders on being industrial, that is the only reason I’m not giving Sunset Inn a full five stars. The price was right ($ 44.36) for a queen bed. The manager was AWESOME, and upgraded me to a king. He went out of his way to make my stay comfortable. The room was bordering on HUGE, which was helpful as I had to organize my travel materials before turning in my rental car the next day. The room was clean and comfortable, the WiFi signal was topnotch, and I would eagerly stay here again if I’m in the area.

One does not go to a hotel like this for a luxury experience. Hence, I don’t worry too much about reviews of places like this from people bothered with the absence of frills.
The Sunset Inn and Suites features friendly management and a clean, basic room with fast wi fi and cable. As an added bonus they have a microwave and refrigerator. Perfectly functional appliances in a well maintained space. The walls are a bit thin but my neighbors had quieted down by 10:30 the first night and I had no noises at all the second.
I wouldn’t stay here for a vacation spot with my family but this is perfectly acceptable as a budget hotel. I would stay here again if I needed a temporary place in the Sacramento area.

I booked this place in last minutes to attend a conference in the Capital. Room was clean, but very dark. Only one lock on the door, and I did not feel safe in this place.

This place sucks, NEVER EVER stay there.
I was there for my brothers wedding, and reserved three rooms. However, there were a lot of us because everyone drove from San Diego and just needed to use the bathroom before the rest drive off.
The manager came and said there were too many of us staying there, and I explained to her that my other family members just need to use the bathroom and are not staying. And they all did leave after, so there were not a lot of us staying there.
She wanted to charge me extra for my family using the bathroom, because she thinks that I am going to have a lot of people staying there.
Then the next morning, she argued with me about it again, wanting to charge me extra.
This place sucks, NEVER EVER EVER EVER stay there.
