Michaela is amazing! She painted in highlights (free hand) into my hair and it looks perfect and so much more natural than traditional highlights. I’ve had bad trips to the stylist before and am so grateful for her work!
The salon is cute and everyone is very nice. Great experience!

I needed to find a new hairdresser, asap but as we know, that can be an anxiety inducing process! Fortunately, I turned to Unilocal which lead me to WICKED Hair Salon! After reading all the glowing reviews I knew this was the place I felt most comfortable trying. At Wicked you get the Best of both worlds!
1^st Michaela; Michaela is a colorist who’s spent many years in NYC perfecting her craft. Let me tell you my hair was no easy task! My normal (BLACK) roots were growing in & after my last hairdresser over processing my hair to the point of hair breaking off, I was afraid I would have to wave Buh bye to my (anything but God-​given) blonde locks. Michaela took the time to ask me what it was I wanted to do & after hearing I «wished» I could stay blonde, she went way above & beyond to not simply touch up my roots, but rather Very meticulously adhering the bleach, then color, only to the black root line (did I mention I have massively thick hair?) so she had her work cut out for her (pardon the pun;) she did many more steps & when she was done I was truly in Awe of the beautiful color, so natural, you’d never know I was born with nearly Black hair!.. now my Cut :).
Fred, Stylist extraordinaire; I was watching the attention to detail this man took with each of his clients. I’ve patronized many a salon in my day & the norm has become overly chatty Hairdressers who often put more attention on the conversation than to your hair (atleast that’s comprised an abundance of my experiences) not so here! After looking at your hair closely, he then works his magic but you can tell he does t just settle for «good enough»! Even after your hair is styled & dry, when others would send you on your way, he takes a final look & trims any stray ends, really not settling for less than perfect! As I told them both my Cheeks hurt from smiling by the time they were done! Lol They work as a Team & truly compliment Eachother! I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the young Lady who greeted me so warmly (sorry I didn’t get her name). She offered me something to drink & was so helpful to Fred, Michaela & all the customers! I prob shouldn’t rave anymore, out of fear they’ll become too busy?! Lol They deserve 10stars but since 5’s all I can give, here it is! Thank you Team Wicked! :D

I have been getting my haircut with Fred for about 2 years. He does a great job every time. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and friendly. I can’t remember the last time that I had gotten compliments on how my hair looked. But it has happened several times since Fred has been cutting it.

Of all the places I’ve had my hair cut in Western Massachusetts, Wicked Salon is now my favorite by far! Fred’s amazing skills with scissors and razor yielded one of the best summer styles I’ve ever had. That would be enough to earn a five-​star review on its own merits, but Wicked deserves a sixth star for customer service. It was, hands down, the most hospitable, friendly, and enthusiastic crew I’ve ever met.
I got there early and had a short wait before they were ready for me (at exactly the time of my appointment). While I was waiting, they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The shortbread cookies (shaped like the salon’s logo) are a great touch, and really show the attention they pay to even the smallest details. I can’t recommend Wicked highly enough — if you don’t need a haircut right now, just book yourself a scalp treatment so you have an excuse to drop by. I promise, you’ll never want to get a haircut anywhere else again.

Fred gave me a spectacular transformation! After 5 years of long hair and a changing hairline, Fred used his magic hands to give me a youthful, light aesthetic. The service and salon design are meticulous. What an overall pleasant experience. Two thumbs up!

Fred is really nice and a skilled hair stylist, worth the wait to book appointment. He was able to look at a picture off my phone and cut my hair better than the models pic

Go here. I am so thrilled with Fred I don’t even know where to start. He was on time (a first for me) and professional and sweet and considerate and I look FABULOUS. My boyfriend stopped dead when I walked in and gushed about my experience with me for an hour, seriously, not just that oh, honey, you got your hair cut thing they do when they know they’re expected to say something. It’s rare we’re both impressed by something like this; normally it’s just, yep, this stuff is in my way, again, time to deal with it. I feel lighter, my hair is happy, soft, calm and elegant. There’s just too much to put into a review, frankly. I’m always nervous going to a new salon. I have long hair and it can take years to recover from a bad cut, so I’m extremely pleased I trusted Unilocal and Fred. Thanks, Fred, for your consideration and skill, and also thanks to all you other patrons who thought to tell me go here. I appreciate that time was available for me and I’m looking forward to going back. I’m looking forward to bringing everyone I know, too, as I can’t think of a better way to thank Fred for being so profoundly excellent. I also liked what his associates were up to, what I saw for the ten whole minutes I was waiting (I showed up early), so I’m sure anyone who helps you here will be delightful.

I was a fan of Fred’s from DC so was very happy when he moved to Massachusetts. He’s a total pro and his reputation is well deserved.
Really cool and comfortable place. It feels like they’ve air lifted a piece of SOHO and dropped it in West Springfield (minus the pretentiousness, congestion and urban prices)

I was thrilled to hear that Fred was opening a salon in the area. I had the best haircut ever from him when I was visiting my daughter in DC. Fred really listens and he is a wizard with scissors. I’m going back next month for both cut and color and will be a regular client from now on. I hope people in Amherst, Northampton and South Hadley will make the short drive to West Springfield. You will not be disappointed.

I live in DC and I’ve been going to Fred to get my hair cut for years. I’m sure a lot of local patrons were devastated when they heard he was relocating to Mass. I’d had one crappy haircut after another, when I landed on Fred back in 2008, that was it. He does an EXCEPTIONAL men’s haircut. I was introduced to him by a friend who is a partner at a DC law firm and she also has been going to him for years. He’s a little more expensive than the average guy, but it’s worth every penny. I can easily go four to six weeks without another trim and my hair still looks good. West Springfield just got hooked up! He’s the best. Get on his client list before he’s completely booked.

Brilliant! So cool and right in West Springfield. Now I do not have to drive to Boston for a metro quality cut and color!
