Yolanda gives the best massages! I drive all the way from sugar land to see her. If you’re looking for a parental massage where you can lay facedown safely(with pillow support) AND still get a real massage(been to others too gentle with the pressure when you’re pregnant) — Yolanda is your gal! I’ve also gotten massages post-baby, and they are just as heavenly!

Best massage I’ve had in Houston. West U Massage is a hidden gem in Rice Village. Yolanda gives a great massage and is very professional. The ambience is very relaxing, simple and elegant. I also liked that she rubs you with a warm towel after massaging so that you don’t leave covered in oil. Definitely will be back.

I have been going to Yolanda for over a year and have been very happy. I schedule a 90 minute appointment and always ask for her to just work on my shoulders and back. The first time I asked for that I thought there was no way I would enjoy that long of a massage on just that area, but she really mixed things up well and now I request it every time. I am usually too reserved to speak up in massages, but she asked how everything was the first couple of times and she made me feel comfortable asking for more pressure. The environment is really relaxing and easy to get in and get out.

I was recommended to Yolanda at West U Massage by a friend and I am so glad I listened! I scheduled a Couple’s Massage Training, again on recommendation. It was amazing! When my husband and I arrived, we were immediately welcomed in and offered chocolates and champagne, both of which are included in the price. Yolanda was so kind and wonderful. She explained what we were going to do, and let us get situated. My husband was on the massage table first and Yolanda walked me through how to give him a massage. She showed me how to start and what exactly to do. She also showed different ways to do do each move by using thumbs, palm of the hands, forearms, and elbows. I learned so much! Then it was my turn to get a massage, which of course was amazing. The training also includes the use of hot stones and dry body brushing(you get to keep your brush), which was a wonderful added bonus. All in all, I had a great time and definitely recommend West U Massage to everyone!

I hate to pull down her average(because a couple of folks on this board seem to really like her work), but the massage I got from Yolanda was okay, but nothing special. She seemed to know what she was doing, but she didn’t ask whether the pressure was suitable(I wanted her to go firmer). This review was based on one massage only, so perhaps she gets better once she’s massaged you frequently. But with the great competition in Houston, she can’t afford to give a so-so massage to someone who spends a LOT of money on massages and has been and will be a loyal repeat client with lots of referrals. Her place of business is VERY nice. It’s a non-descript, almost junky-looking little office building on the outside, but it’s been built out with warm, inviting brick and wood on the inside. If her work on me had matched the beautiful surroundings, she would have earned another star. One additional note. I’m noticing that there are massages that are«spa-like» with beautiful surroundings and higher-end linens and aromas and«massage music» — and there are massages that are more … businesslike, for lack of a better term, ones that are primarily focused on the massage itself with less or no emphasis on the tranquility or beauty or softness or non-massage aspects of the activity. Yolanda’s is definitely much more of the former type«high-maintenance» massage. If you’re into that, you may like her work more than I did.

My husband and I each had a 90 minute massage from Yolanda and both thought she did a fantastic job. My husband and I like very different massages, too. She was thorough, attentive and instinctively knew where the trouble spots were and the right amount of pressure apply. When I arrived she immediately put me at ease with her demeanor and the environment, which is clean and comfortable. I also liked her music selections, which weren’t the cheesy spas sounds like whales and waterfalls, which can be distracting in my opinion. Yolanda has a warm and caring spirit and it really shows in her work. She isn’t the cheapest in town, but you certainly get what you pay for and she runs regular specials on her website.

Yolanda gave me the best massage of my life! As a runner, I get a lot of tension in my glutes, shoulders, and upper back, but I didn’t have to tell her — she found these spots and worked tirelessly to release the tension. She also stretched my muscles and flushed out the toxins, putting me in better condition than I was BEFORE my long runs. *And* she’s flexible with scheduling(fabulous for busy professionals like myself)! I truly never cared to spend my money on massages until I found Yolanda. She’s located in the middle of Rice Village and the atmosphere is calming. I highly recommend her to all runners and athletes! Pamper yourself and go to West U Massage and you won’t regret it.

This is a real find – a gracious and pleasant respite from Houston. Located in a quiet section of Rice Village and housed in a new suite with soothing décor is this new establishment with an experienced therapist applying her vast talent. Yolanda, the proprietor and therapist, is adept at both therapeutic massage and relaxation. On the therapeutic side, she has successfully worked out the kinks from long flights, aided the recovery of sore muscles, and speeded up the healing for minor exercise injuries. When relaxation is the goal, she is exceptional. As a regular customer when in Houston, I highly recommend Yolanda. Expert and professional care in a clean relaxing environment.
