Oh my god, bad service place I have been. My wife and I order Phở and rice dish. But we have to wait too long. Then I saw the table next to us, they came after us but they have food already. The servers here don’t even care about customer. My wife and I order at the same time, but my wife’s rice dish come first. I have to wait long long time more, until my wife almost finish her dish then they brought my Phở out. I was so mad. This is not good experience restaurant.

Ever since Green Papaya closed(sniff sniff), Phở Saigon has been our go-to for phở. My husband refused to even eat phở until we tried this place! The broth is a little fattier than other places but it’s perfect! I think it’s very flavorful. My husband also enjoys the bahn mai. The only reason for 4 stars is that the service isn’t always the best.

Phở Saigon. Their phở is amazing and their rice are delicious! for only 7 bucks you can get a big rice place that can feed a small village in Africa. my favorite is the pork chops and rice! grilled to perfection and charred for taste! amazing prices and delicious food. definitely a gem in salt lake!

Phở: 3⁄5 stars. Oily and a little bland. Rice plate: 2:5 stars. Overall the plate was lacking flavor. Everything was oddly flavored and the shredded pork was very dry. The nuoc mam(fish sauce) was lacking flavor too. It didn’t have any seasonings in it. It looked like nuoc mam straight out from the bottle you buy at the Asian store. Banh mi dac biet: 3.5÷5. Pretty good flavors. The bread was just very flat and I personally prefer a flaky bread for my banh mi. Service: 2.5÷5. Never received any water refills and never was asked how our food was. The temperature and air flow was lacking as well. It was very warm inside and muggy feeling. Would I come back? MAYBE for banh mi.

The food is great, but the service sucks. They take way too long and they don’t bother to check you need anything, I have had to go ask for silverware, for more water. I don’t mean to sound like I want service hand and foot, but it would be nice to get a refill on my water while waiting 40 min just to get my food. Their not very nice.

Excellent priced sandwiches, decent service, clean environment, and OK food. I ordered the barbecue pork sandwich and found it to be pretty good for the $ 3.50 price tag. But I got the feeling that the meat in the sandwich was either freeze dried or was originally frozen. I also ordered the 201 phở dish. I found the flavor to be very bland unless I spiced it up with the hoisin sauce and garlic chili sauce on the table. It isn’t the best soup I’ve ever had but it was OK. All in all this is a decent place to go if you want authentic Vietnamese food. I got the impression that most of the customers in the busy restaurant today were Vietnamese. That’s always a good sign. If you’re in the area check it out.

I came here near closing time to get dinner while staying overnight at a nearby hotel after a weekend of skiing. I ordered the bon bo hue. It was not the traditional bon bo hue. The broth was the same used for the phở. I was hungry and could not complain. The location is spacious with a lot of tables and space.

The food was overall really good. The chicken phở was excellent, the spicy beef lunch special was really good, the chicken fried rice was pretty average at best. I wanted to give this place 4 stars but the restaurant just didn’t seem clean. There’s lots of clutter in the halls, the mirrors were dirty, and the bathroom just didn’t really look clean. Little things like this turn off customers and make you question whether health codes are being followed in kitchen. Again, the food was really good, but the place needs a deep clean.

Phở is always a great next morning meal! Phở Saigon is family-ran(you can tell by the grandmother and children behind the counter.), and has a legitimate Asian family gathering feel to it. Their menu consists of plenty of authentic Vietnamese dishes ranging from phở noodle soup to broken rice plates to vermicelli noodle dishes. I’m definitely a regular here. I usually start off with an order of spring rolls and an iced coffee. My go-to main dish would have to be the 201 — Large. It’s the house special phở. I add sauces to my liking and indulge! Some issues I’ve had before involve the service. The servers don’t seem to be very attentive. I’ve sat waiting for a refill on water far too many times, but I must admit I’m a quick drinker. Although the service isn’t up to my standards, I sleep coming back here because I love the food!

I’ve been here several times and was never disappointed. I’ve tried several different cuisines ranging from their rice dishes, to their vermicelli noodle dishes, banh xeo(Vietnamese crepes), banh cuon(Vietnamese rice rolls), and then their Phở. This is actually one of the places that has a wider variety of Vietnamese dishes and they’re all so yummy! The service here is just okay. They rarely come by to check up on you after you get your food. It’s usually not needed, however. Anyway, give this place a try if you’re craving Vietnamese food!

Closest thing to the phở I find back in the Bay Area. I’ve found my new go to spot. I usually order bun dishes and found that most phở places here only serve strictly phở so I was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite bun rieu dish here. Although not as good as back home, it’s still plenty flavorful and delicious. I ordered the bun rieu and nem nuong, 4 stars for food but service was a bit scattered. It looks like it’s run by a family that employs their kids since there were a lot of teenagers working there when I went this past Sunday.

My friend strong armed me to go as I didn’t want to see the place again. I was so wrong about what had happened to this place in the past, in the beginning we were being ignored and then service got incredibly great. The menu looks to be new as there are a ton of new items since I was there last. Also it seems much bigger too. Wondering if it was under new management? The veggie tray for the Phở was impressive. Like a California impressive. :-) The Phở had plenty of noodles and meat with the broth made just right. Also ordered the banh mi with lemon grass oozing out(so good). And another thing we ordered were the bánh cun tht nng with the fish sauce and it was delicious too. The only thing I didn’t like was the Mi Hoanh Thanh Xa Xin small egg noodle soup. Really glad this place got turned around, can’t wait to go back again.

The wonton noodle soup is AH-MAZING. The wontons are tasty, the pork is cooked well and the broth is too good for words. The banh cuon was so delicious it disappeared after a few seconds. It was my first time trying it and I was ready for another order. Not that the phở needs any more flavor but I cannot get enough of the garlic sauce– YUM.

We had their Com Saigon Dac Biet(house special combination of shredded pork, meatloaf, shrimp cake, fish cake, sunny side up egg w/Korean BBQ ribs), Banh Xeo(Vietnamese Crepes), Goi Cuon Nem Nuong(grilled pork rolls), Goi Cuon Nem Nuong & Ca Phe Sua Da(ice coffee w/condensed milk) for the drink! Everything was good. The service was decent.

This place is amazing. I walked in thinking that I was headed into a «one-trick pony» phở shop, but I was blown away with everything they had. And it was all cheap! I have no idea what everything is actually called, but I had an assortment of rice paper wrapped rolls and tried 2 different Phở’s. Everything was terrific and I cant wait to come back.

This is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant in Utah. The food is decent, but much better than the other vietnamese restaurants around. They have a wide menu that offers the special authentic dishes like bun rieu, bo kho, bun bo hue. They also have hot pot. I always eat the bun thit nuong here and I’ve tried the phở, both are really good! It’s always busy here but they have great service and get your food to your table in a timely manner. They also have che and boba. Banh canh cua(crab udon noodle soup) is also on point.

I come here pretty often with my bf when we crave for phở it’s not the best phở in town I’d say because I love home made phở the best here I feel like some days their broth is alright other days it’s too sweet as if there’s too much msg you can literally taste the sweetness through it. I had their broken rice the first time I was here with my parents and I think it was pretty decent so yeah other than that their food is not too bad.

I’ve been here here about 10 times now and have never taken the time to write a review. Have always generally enjoyed their phở. Branched out to a spicy seafood with egg noodle soup dish a few months ago and was pretty impressed. But what finally made me write the review was the last couple of visits where I tried the Bun(non-soup vermicelli noodle dish). I had menu item 703 which includes grilled pork and fried egg rolls. Poured on some fish sauce(more like all of the fish sauce) and I went to town. I have to say I was hooked. The combination of the noodles, lettuce, pickled carrots, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, lemongrass, maybe basil(can’t remember), pork and egg rolls was stellar. And I somewhat felt like I was was eating a healthy dish(which I’m sure it’s not considering the amount of sodium that’s probably in there) so that made me feel good. I can only compare this to the Bun dishes I’ve had at Oh Mai(another local SLC Vietnamese restaurant). I like the Oh Mai Bun dishes. But I think Phở Saigon’s Bun is quite a bit better. To me, it was just a lot more flavorful and I liked the contrast in textures with all of the ingredients.

Come here if you’re looking for cheap phở. I believe their large is the price of a regular at most other places! I don’t think it’s the best broth but it’s decent. If you’re like me and like to switch things up, they offer an option of bigger flat noodles with your phở broth. Their menu is pretty big so they have many Vietnamese dishes that aren’t offered at other places. I also suggest their Seafood Egg Noodles, that’s one of my favorites. For appetizers, I usually go for their fresh spring rolls or their fried shrimp wontons. Their services is okay. They take a while to notice your arrival and get you seated. I also asked for a regular size phở and got a large and was charged for it. It’s one of my pet peeves when they don’t bother writing down your order just in case. She’s lucky I finished it anyways. :)

I decided to give Phở Saigon another try and went with some friends today. Their staff service has improved tremendously(mainly because our waiter was not the same guy) – the waitress(one with the rang khenh) was really nice and cashier was very friendly. Thank goodness because now I’ll be coming back for their phở in house!

If you are looking for an indiscriminate and superb dining experience, this is not the place. I have witnessed the inconsistency in quality of service over the years I have dined here(at their previous and current location). Depending on which server you get and how good of a day they are having you can pretty much predict the service you will be receiving. So why do I keep coming back? Basically, Phở Saigon is one of the few vietnamese restaurants in Utah that has Banh Canh(vietnamese style udon) on their menu. What makes Phở Saigon’s Banh Canh stand out from the others is the thickness of the broth, the fresh crab, the addition of congealed pork blood(ever so delicious and does not taste like what it sounds), and the chewy texture of their clear udon noodles. In addition to their delectable Banh Canh, they also have Che ba mau which is a Vietnamese red bean dessert with jello, soybean, coconut milk, peanuts, and crushed ice. This refreshing dessert is really good for the hot summer days but just as enjoyable any other time of the season. If you know what you want and order it correctly, service should not be an issue. Going when it’s not busy around 3 – 5 on weekdays, will guarantee you quicker and better service.
