We have eaten at many restaurants over the last 7 years and while we live some more casual places we visit off of the mountain, Verde is the best of all of the higher end places we’ve tried. Verde is the best fine dining we have had in the area, ever. We are never disappointed and always leave looking forward to our next opportunity to dine here. I can’t make a recommendation for what to order. Just order what sounds good to you and expect to be delighted. The mussels are amazing and the house made bread is perfect alone or to soak up the broth. Tonight we had two different beef entrees and both were excellent. Full disclosure — we almost passed on the wagyu beef due to the price but happily we didn’t because it was superb.

New chef, second dinner here in 10 days, amazing! Best meal we’ve had in VT in 5 years. Pasta Bolognese is marvelous & Misty Knoll chicken was so wonderfully seasoned I wanted to lick the plate. Dessert of house made trio of ice cream and sorbet is divine. Our waiter James is a true professional and makes your meal feel extra special. Don’t bother with any of the«so called» top restaurants within a 90 mile radius, they don’t come close to this chef’s skill.

Party of six denied at 8:45 because the kitchen was closing? No wonder why we’ve never gone there before.

Classy place, but not overly stuffy considering you’re at a ski resort. The meal was very good, and wait staff was friendly & attentive. We had rigatoni, polenta, chicken, and short ribs… all dishes we’re delicious. Worth eating here if you’re looking for a finer dining experience.

We have a family of 6 with 4 kids. No children’s menu. The waitress was super pretentious and snobby. Additionally, she was extremely short with her answers and then had the nerve to ask if we had a problem, as we were looking at the bill. A small bowl of pasta with butter was $ 15 for a child. This is definitely not a place to take children. We have skied Vale, Copper, Breckenridge, Snowmass, Tremblant and many others. $ 270 big fail.

Hubs and I had dinner here on New Year’s Day. I had called and emailed a couple weeks in advance and fortunately got us the last two available seats at the chef’s counter. Verde is located in the Landmark in the center of the village and was hands down one of the best meals we have had in Stratton. Upon entering, our coats were checked and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was packed out. No joke. A server brought out some warm, house made sourdough bread and olives. We started with the mussels and the Spanish octopus. The mussels were swimming in a curry sauce with a crostini. The sauce was flavorful, with a tiny hint of spice. The octopus — oh my word. It was the most tender octopus I’ve ever had. Amazeballs. For entrees, I enjoyed the diver scallops, and hubs had the NY strip steak. The scallops sat on a bed of sweetened mashed potatoes, a pancake, topped with mushrooms and parsley. I love scallops, and the chef did not disappoint. The only thing that I didn’t quite understand was the role of the pancake… Nonetheless I cleared my plate. Hubs’ steak rested on sautéed spinach, with a side of fries and a couple of shiitake mushrooms. The steak had a lovely sear and was a very nice medium rare. By this point, we were stuffed. But there is always room for dessert. We had the profiteroles and the chocolate cake.(We ordered the pear tartelette but they were sold out.) Dessert was just okay for me. The profiteroles sandwiched a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and the chocolate cake was a heavy, dense cake paired with Bailey’s ice cream. Overall a good meal! Service was very friendly and our glasses were refilled frequently. As we sat across from the chef, it was cool to talk with him and watch him cook. I hope Verde continues to do well — Definitely recommend for a «nicer» dining experience on the mountain.

Went there over the Christmas week. Our family was greeted warmly. We were early so we went to the bar where once again we were greeted with a warm and welcome smile. Dinner was fantastic The place was full and you could tell from looking around everyone was having a wonderful time. Of all 6 restaurants we went to this week this was the best.

Very very good! Went here on a Thursday night and got free apps. What a nice gesture. My entrée was amazing as I had the tuna. The donut desert is also amazing. The staff is so friendly too! Definetly would return

Had a really excellent meal here. It was a bit tough to get a reservation and even calling several weeks in advance, 6pm was the only open slot. We ordered the mussels to start– fabulous. I had the zucchini gratin and my husband had the medallions of something or other… I can’t actually remember, but we both loved our dishes. We had the Stag’s Leap, which was far more affordable than we expected. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was lovely. Chatted with the host for a bit on our way out and he could not have been nicer. All in all, a wonderful spot. We will be back for sure.

Amazing restaurant! The mussels were fab — esp the broth. The lamb and truffle gnocchi was out of this world. Grouper was delish! So nice to find a restaurant of this caliber at Stratton!

Excellent! We were able to get in for an early dinner,(5:30) by reserving a week out. I understand the reason for the sell out for later tables. This is the best restaurant in the Stratton Village vicinity. Make a reservation and enjoy, you will be glad you did…

Best Restaurant in Stratton village. With limited options for a real restaurant in the Stratton resort on a recent ski trip my wife and I found ourselves here two nights in a row. The mussels were great. Both evenings upon our arrival we started with a cocktail at the bar. Most nights Jack the resident bartender who is quite the mixologist served up a great cocktail. On our first visit my wife had venison and I opted for steak. We both loved our selections. The second evening my wife had the lamb chops and I chicken. Oh, we started each evening with the mussels soaking up all the juice with the great bread which they provide. The service was great for both evenings. The place is pricy but we were on vacation.

The is really the only«real» restaurant at Stratton. Your only other choice is Luna Jack the bartender is a Stratton institution and a skilled mixologist. Pretty much every review is likely to note the high prices. Yes, they are high, probably by about $ 5 an entrée. Wines by about $ 10 a bottle. However, the place is packed every night, so they can charge what they want. The service is generally excellent. There are a lot of regulars at this place and the staff knows them by name. The service is friendly. They could deal with vegetarians better. But for carnivores, the food is great and the presentation is superb. I recently had a NY Strip on top of Brussel sprouts on top of mashed potatoes. It was great.

Pry more 3.5 stars… Cons: I made a reservation yet we were seated at a terrible table next to the serving station. Make sure you request a table in the back of the restaurant, we couldn’t even see the open kitchen. The waitstaff was a little inexperienced, felt like our dinner was rushed. not intentionally but still happened. It is over priced, the lamb was 49 $ or something crazy, my mom didn’t get it just because it was on the side of ridiculous. Pros: My fillet was way overcooked but they took it back and brought me another one that was really perfect. The mac and cheese, which we ordered as an app was amazing! My sister had the gnocchi which was also perfect. We ate someplace else in the village the night before and it was terrible, this was a real restaurant and pry the best food in the area(although not much to compare it too)

Wow… what a find in the middle of a ski area(at least a VT ski area). We only had margaritas and the curry muscles app at the bar but both were amazing! Friends raved about everything on the menu so next time we’ll have a full meal. A word of caution though: you’ll need reservations during peak seasons and the prices are expensive($ 30 – 50 entries)
