Great gym w/​a excellent service. Very clean and well maintained. Has everything that is necessary to stay active. The hours are very convenient. The basketball courts are well kept. There’s a floating track for walking. A swimming pool which is not crowded. The weights are cleaned and wiped frequently. Plenty or parking. Worth the money.

i loved the gym, but it has a few problems.
1 expensive — family member ship was 110 per mth and me and my daughter went 5 – 6 times per month. , my wife and other daughter never went. I dropped down to junior membership for my 16 yr old daughter because she loves the basketball hoops.
2 the basketball gym is never available for 2 – 4 people to play or learn together. one gym end is always filled with full games and the other is ping pong or 50 kids all over it. don’t sign up unless you plan to play with many 17 year olds.
3 the pool was good for lessons. the staff was good with my kids.
4 the gym equipment (cardio machines) are good and tv is good. most things are in working order.
5 the gym equipment (nautilus style) is also very good.
the low stars is mainly for the bad bad bad price. other gyms are $ 10 — 20 per person but don’t have basketball court.
always friendly and easy to cancel.

Nice gym, but not worth the money.
Cardio machines are run-​of-​the-​mill quality. Weight equipment is moderate quality.
Personal training is extra and VERY expensive.
Pool hours for adults are fairly limited, mostly to the morning. If I want to swim after work, space is very limited as they have LOTS of lessons for kids in the afternoon and evening.
Group exercise classes are so-​so. Instructors do lots of jumping and don’t really try to modify for those needing lower impact alternatives.
Climbing wall for the kids have very limited hours.
Finally, the «30 day cancellation» policy is not really correct. It’s 30 days from billing date, which means once you cancel, it could be anywhere from 30 days to 59 days. Very misleading.
Overall, average gym for 3X the price!

Very poor customer service. I had a free guest pass from Metrowest ymca which the Metrowest people said I can use it in this facility. I wanted to try the Yoga class before I join the gym. I came here and they said I can’t use this pass from other facility. They were just not helpful! I mean why would I come here if I knew about this. They didn’t give me a guest pass and said I could either buy one or download the 3 day pass on my phone n then use that! What the hell!
My yoga class was starting in 5 mins. and they were not cooperative at all to let me attend this one class! Seriously couldn’t they have given me just one guest pass considering that I had gone to the metro west one before n that I’m genuinely interested in joining. can’t believe at how cold they were.
Horrible service! I left from there highly disappointed!!!

The Y can be expensive, especially for a family membership (about $ 1100 a year, but look at all you can get if you actually use it). We don’t have a family membership, but I have found an affordable way for my two-​year old son to enjoy swimming here by purchasing a preschool membership. This costs $ 15 a month and allows one person to take their child (the member) for family swim, which happens a few times a day. You can also accompany them to open gym time and something called NAZ, which is an indoor play area. And we get a discount on swim lessons and other classes and camps.
So, I haven’t been to too many areas of this Y but I like the pool area. However, I think they could invest more money into the locker rooms. The lockers are extremely rusty and some of the individual changing rooms could use more attention (one didn’t have a lock and another had a light out for a week). The family locker room can also get extremely crowded, especially on Saturday mornings after lessons.
Overall, it’s a nice place to bring any kid for physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Expensive but clean and friendly. Summer camp? We have seen the counselors grow over the past 6 years and it always makes us happy to see them back. A lot going on for the money but it is not inexpensive unless you are not part of the 1% — then the ones who pay subsidize for the ones who cant…

New, well staffed, and fun for kids and adults alike. If you want/​need it… they have it.

Awesome place, awesome service. They would have 5 stars if they had indoor tennis, but they do have a share program with other YMCAs.
Because of the share, they get 5 stars :-)

Dropping my review to two stars b/​c we heard they got rid of our favorite trainer/​class leader. He had a religious following, and everyone loved him :-/​
Epic fail.

We love the Boroughs YMCA. We have been member for over a year. Great facilities, family friendly, and new gym equipment. The swim teachers are great too. Don’t mess with a crappy gym when you could go here!

This is the best family centered gym you could ask for. The infrastructure is quite conducive to family activities including a huge, clean pool, sauna/​hot tub, clean bathrooms, rock wall, tons and tons of equipment, knowledgeable and caring staff. I have been a member since it opened and find it to be the safe haven in my stressful day. There is no pretense at the Y – come as you are and no one is out to make you feel bad. Indeed, the culture is so outstanding at this facility, I can’t imagine going to any other gym. If you are a group exercises fanatic, as I am, you will be in awe of the aerobic room… it is HUGE, CLEAN, WELL EQUIPPED and has breathtaking views of the woods. It has a Zen feel. But, do not be fooled… the instructors will whip your butt — one is better than the next. If you are looking for a friendly, clean, well managed gym, go no further than the Northborough YMCA…

Have you checked out the new (relatively) YMCA? This place is fabulous! It is packed (ok that’s not so great but that’s) because the place has SO MUCH to offer!
Swimming, indoor basketball, computers, indoor raquetball, and to be honest, I can’t remember everything else. Oh yeah, they have a rock wall! How cool is that!
You have to join! How can you NOT LOSE WEIGHT with so much to do here. oh yeah they have a weight room with free weights and I enjoyed the aerobic activity on the stationary bikes …
ONLY DRAW BACK — if you are like me when you exercise your metabolism is kicked into HIGH GEAR and you go home wanting to eat EVERYTHING in sight. Just have your family commit to blocking the kitchen whenever you get home from the gym. That way they get some exercise too!
