Meh. That’s all I can really say about Central House. Definitely a horrible townie bar, and if you’re not there every day, the music stops when you walk in and all the locals stare you down and snarl as you walk in.

They just recently changed the Sunday buffet to a menu. The breakfAst last Sunday was amazing!!! The home fries also had sweet potatoes in them. Prices are ridiculously low for the portions. You have to try this place. All of the bartenders are so friendly and quick with service. I love this bar!

Possibly the towniest of townie bars in Westborough, but that’s not a bad thing. I’ve lived and worked in the area for more than two years, but can’t consider myself a local since they don’t know me by name here. The bar isn’t much to look at, basically just the first floor of a converted triple decker and you better like watching the local sports teams. There is food and it seemed like everyone was ordering the fish and chips the night I was there. There aren’t many beer options, but they are surprisingly good. And cheap. Two taps of Cold Harbor(made just around the corner) and Clown Shoes Spacecake(a double IPA served in a pint glass for $ 6). All in all, not a bad place to pop in for a drink if you are in town.

Good grief. This place is awful. We gave stopped in every years to see if there’s been any improvement. Unfortunately, the answer is no.

This is a bar in what looks like an apartment building. They have a full bar, but a limited menu. On Friday they have a fish menu with a lot of good choices, but it isn’t available other days. Tables are sticky and the salt and pepper shakers were rusty. I decided not to order any food

Had the Lobsta Roll which was very tasty. Friendly staff. Would like to come back on Friday to try their sea food. Menu rather limited for Lunch but tasted fresh!

Good food. Especially on Friday. The fish is excellent as is all the seafood. The make a great fish chowder. They have very reasonable prices on drinks. It’s a little bit of a dive and a local place but it’s a comfortable place and everyone is friendly.

My first time here after living in Wesborough for five years! VERY yummy fried clams and french fries… and a perfect portion of both! However, the tartar sauce and cole slaw need a new recipe, WAAAY too much mayonnaise in both, take out 2⁄3 of the mayo, add a smidge of salt, fresh ground pepper, and maybe even a teaspoon or two of celery seasoning… …great coleslaw should just be «kissed» by the mayo and you still get that great crunch from the cabbage, not so with this, drenched and inedible! ditto for the tartar sauce — keep out half of the mayo and add that back with relish and YUM!- great job and super friendly people are in charge… thanks Dan! can’t wait to try the fish and chips, sadly they ran out — popular!

Come in here, eat a burger, love every second of it, have a drink, make friends, stay for the friends, have more drinks, be happy.

This place defines«local.» The menu specials are written up on a chalkboard in the middle of the dining room. Only a handful of options but all are INCREDIBLE. Great place for fish and chips, clam rolls, scallop rolls. All servers and bartenders are extremely friendly. I’ve only been there once but I was very very impressed and it seemed as if everyone else in the place were regulars. Very charming little place that keep people coming back on a regular basis. Don’t be intimidated if it looks closed from the outside. Walk right on up and seat yourself!

If didn’t know Central House was there, you wouldn’t find it. The sign is small and unassuming and the entrace(s) is(are) a little obscure. It’s literally an apartment in a multifamily home, where the living room and maybe a bedroom have been combined to form the bar area. If you look into the kitchen, you can see rows and rows and rows of giant cans of I don’t know what and I’m pretty sure I don’t care. You’re not coming here for the local farm-fresh foods, you’re coming here for a beer or three, a game on TV, some good company and maybe something fried or grilled to eat. I’ve never had the food, so I can’t judge on that. But the beer is cold and well priced, the service is friendly and prompt, and the clientele range from old boys who will chat you up to goth cheerleaders(I swear to GOD this happened). If you’re having dinner in downtown Westborough, I can’t think of a better place to pop in for an after dinner drink. I just really wish they’d put a fire in that big ‘olé gorgeous fireplace. (PS. Most of the décor is by Budweiser.)

A DEFINITEYES! by Nancy Drawe(1 review) April 01, 2011 I’ve heard a lot of good things about the fish and chips at the Central House, so wanted to try it out. My father is actually the one who first heard about it, so I brought him and my mother. Well, I have to say that everyone had the right idea, because it was the best fish and chips we ever had. My mother had the fried clams and LOVED them. We first started off with the fish chowder – to die for! Then came the fish and chips. The piece of fish was HUGE – and oh, so good! Nice light batter and the fish was nice and moist and very tasty. The fries were golden and crispy. delicious! Cole slaw was good, too! You can’t beat the price, either! We will definitely be going back over and over again. The next time, as good as the fish chowder is, I’m going to have to skip it because I was so full after eating that and trying to finish my fish and fries. Had to send some home with my mother, who was also taking home some of her clams because there were so many on her plate – which is highly unusual in other restaurants! Our server was so friendly, made us feel at home for being first timers! All in all, I give this ten stars!

This is the Local locale. We use the backroom for informal organizational meetings sometimes. Apart from that I make occasional appearances around holidays, 4th of July, Xmas etc. It’s a pretty tight circle, so yeah you may get some looks if you stumble in. I’ve eaten here and while it wasn’t L’Espalier quality, I enjoyed the grub. All-in-all as a Newbie(7years) Yuppie Scum newcomer to town I find this place relaxing. * I’ve been to far less«friendly» Townie bars. * The games is ALWAYS on here. * Warning don’t say anything bad ’bout the Sox, Celts or especially the Bruins in here. * very reasonable prices.
