Went in with the family and ordered chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice, general tsau’s chicken and crab rangoons. The wings were either too salty or not salty enough, our boneless spare ribs were good but some were burnt but everything else was good.

Slow boat to China. Waited for service. Waited for drinks. Order was wrong. Baby crying in the corner. Didn’t know if the baby was waiting too…

Basic tasteless American Chinese food. Not worth the drive or the stop. Bland taste, misrepresented menu, expensive.

My boyfriend and I frequent a different Chinese restaurant for lunch and we tried this today and we’re blown away! Lunch special was a huge amount of food with great variety: you get soup or salad, an app, two entrees, and a side. The food itself was just a good quality of typical Chinese good. In fact, this is the only place I’ve found recently with good kung pow chicken! Our server Sarah was great, super helpful and attentive. Color me impressed all around!

Our family has been going to Cheng Du for many, many years. The food is excellent and, in all these years, we’ve never had a bad meal. High marks for quality, taste and service. The family that manages Cheng Du are kind and gracious. There are times when it’s packed and I’m sure the waits are longer than usual, but it’s worth the trip, or for take out. We recently moved to Connecticut and haven’t found a restaurant here that’s even close to Cheng Du. So, thank you Cheng Du for some wonderful meals and hope to see you, again.

Terrible service! Truly some of the worst service I’ve experienced. After 20 min at table we had to go ask the hostess to find a server to take our drink order. Rest of service was ungodly slow. Food was only alright. Orders all came out at different times. My shrimp came in a sickly sweet sauce that quickly congealed into an unappetizing ly thick, cold goo by the time the rest of the food arrived at table. Drink refills were incredibly slow in arriving. Truly awful experience. Definitely NOT kid friendly at all.

This place has a 3 star rating and I’m not sure how. Their food was great, and so was the service. The environment was really really nice, I can’t understand if it’s one restaurant or two but both menus were given to us. We were seated in the japanese section of the restaurant. We had the scorpion bowl which was super cool and tasty, a little sweet for my liking but I’m picky with drinks. We started with a sushi roll and the crab rangoon. The rangoons were hand-down the best we’d ever had. So flavorful with a thin and crispy outer dough. The sushi roll was shrimp tempora and cucumber inside with tuna on the outside, delicious.(I’m extremely critical of raw fish, so the fact that i had nothing negative to say about the tuna means it was good.) Then for dinner we shared beef chow-fun(«foon» at this restaurant), general tzos chicken, and one of their seafood specials which included scallops shrimp and calamari in a spicy sauce with peanuts(whichw as our favorite). The food was all delicious. I wasn’t a huge fan of the beef chow foon, the beef wasn’t as tender as most chinese restaurants. And i also was turned off that the general tzo’s chicken had a lot of dark meat– but I do realize that’s normal and I’m sure if i had asked for only white meat they would have accomodated. My boyfriend loved everything we ordered as well. We’ll certainly be returning.

I was invited to a special celebration there and we were able to use the back room. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. I’m very close to giving five stars.

This place has very tasty food … The service is quick. We were 7 people and we ordered like crazy. We hadn’t not eaten the whole day n went there around 4 pm … We ordered so much food n still the bill was very genuine. I mean 130 $ for 7 people is very decent. N when we ordered like 15 – 16 dishes. The food is really tasty, ambience is very good … It’s a huge place … Very nice for get togethers …

Great Chinese cuisine, sushi & service. The hamachi appetizer with jalapeño is like butter & their lunch combos are awesome if you can’t decide between sushi or Chinese food — have both! Awesome wine list if you’re not a fan of Polynesian drinks and beware of the mai tais…

Well it took a little while to get noticed at the desk. But after that we got seated at a nice table. Unique seating area here, like your own little rooms. The setting seems aimed at intimate meals. Not so much family oriented. The two of us decided just to get pu pu platter for two. Everything was delicious. Had a bottle of wine, which they can wrap for taking home the leftover. Decent prices. Good date place. We went Monday at 7pm, other places were closed.

I have been there a couple of times and I am not a fan, the décor is nice and looks clean, but it is mediocre food on nice plates and If you are a fan of a drunken bar scene, this is your place! I went yesterday, we were a party of 4, they told us about 15 min, there was a small family ahead of us, in the meantime at the lobby there was an obviously over served patron, with his glass on hand coming in and out to smoke and talking to everybody on sight, even tripping on small kids. The host did not anything about it. After more than a half hour, we checked the bar and there were a couple of empty tables with dirty plates. We sat and waited for about 15 min for somebody to clean up, nobody came and the waitress purposely ignored us, my friend went to the front desk to request somebody to clear the table, she was told that they were short on staff and there was nothing they could do. We left. They were rude and never apologize. I guess they don’t need the business. Instead we went to the Mandarin across the street, the food was fresh and good, the service was excellent. A fan of the Mandarin now.

Love this place. Outstanding staff, great Chinese food as well as sushi„ and the best«house fried rice» in eastern Mass. We love almost all the dishes from the dry cumin beef to all the soups, and the bone in rubs are meaty, moist, and tasty!!! If kike to give them 5 stars, but hold that distinction for VERYFEW restaurants(such as Menton in Boston)! Great place for discriminating tastes and those that expect service.

Interior was beautiful. Staff was very welcoming. Our particular waitress was slower than I’d have liked, since we had a 9 year old and 5 month old in tow and wanted to move things along. Other wait staff seemed to be much more responsive than our waitress. The food was good, especially compared to all the places I’ve visited in the area. Great chicken fingers! Love that they have kids meals too as ordering Chinese for my son usually leaves me with large orders since kids meals aren’t common with Chinese restaurants. Overall very happy with our visit and feel foolish for living in the area 3 years prior to trying it!

Love love love this place! It’s a tad pricey for Asian food but worth it! The moo shi is great, they make a killer navy grog and the hot and sour soup rocks! It tends to be a little on the cold side so layer up.

I would love to rank it higher, but I can’t. Its renovated BEAUTIFULLY, really classy and CLEAN. But as a fellow Unilocaler said, the food doesn’t stand up to the décor. Which is sad. Because the staff is nice, but the food is mediocre when you compare it to the MANY other restaurants in the area. Best thing on the table was the chicken lo mein. We ordered the $ 25 sushi combo for starters, and although the rolls were tight, the rice was not fresh which is not forgivable in any respectable sushi book, in particular when you have Tenka next door, Sachi and Sake Hana, just short drives away. The peking ravioli were«skinny» and salty and the meat so crushed up, it was almost mealy. Not a pleasant mouth feel. Plum duck– ½ duck, great sauce, but the duck was dry! Not happy. Broth for the chilean bass was lovely, and the asparagus cooked perfectly — except they didn’t trim or shave properly the stringy ends, which were inedible. Food came out a bit cold. And the fish had that«been frozen and defrosted» back taste that was a bit saddening, although it was ok. Unilocal check in and you will get a free wine. House wine. Blech. Flat. I kept to my tea. They have a nice wine list, and displayed very elegantly. But the food was disappointing. With so many options, I don’t see why we would come back. My family voted it down unanimously. I really hate giving bad reviews, but with no one in the restaurant — we got in around 1630, and all the poor reviews, you’d think they would push to have their best game on. I hope they can turn the cooking around just a tad. Thats all they need to go from hohum to WOW! If the food can step up to the décor, they will hit it hard out of the park!

So, has the price of scallions gone up dramatically? I only ask because the scallion pancakes we bought for take out probably had less than one scallion sliced in the entire batch. The dough was tough and pasty. A very unpleasant experience. Likewise the vegetable Peking ravioli were revolting. The wrappers were green! I know it’s Christmas Day but really? The ravioli were pasty and greasy and the filling was awful. Also the hot and sour soup tasted of beef bouillon and vinegar but little else. I’m glad we weren’t hungry because these tidbits were disgusting. We are here once two years ago and were unimpressed and ordered here because it was the closest Chinese open on Christmas night. We will never return to this restaurant. Bad food

Two hours and thirty minutes+ wait for carry out. Brutal. Feels like a Seinfeld episode. Told 30 mins on phone. Told 5 mins at the place.
