Icing

This little-​known location of Icing (the «bigger sister to Claire» as I overheard the manager say today) is clean, organized, and has a lil’ bit of everything… earrings, silk flower hair pins *which I LOVE*, headbands, etc… it’s a girly-​girl heaven of sorts. I went in today just to grab a box of earring backs as I was in need of this one random item that I forgot to pick up this past weekend at a Claire’s in Wrentham. I walked in and got what I needed…
So why the ONE star?!? The SALES staff. Upon walking in (I’m the only gal in the place besides the 2 employees) I get the:
«Welcome to Icing, all of our earrings are buy one, get one 50% off for today only, oh, don’t forget to check out the brand new display of trendy items that are at the front of the store, oh, and here’s a basket so you can shop today, and oh, what can I help you find!!!» (IN ONE BREATH!!!)
Me: «I’m fine, thanks, just need this (holding up the package) and just gonna look around…»
In the remaining 10 minutes I was in the store, the other girl approached me and reminded me that «If Caitlyn forgot to tell you, all earrings are…» again offered a shopping basket, and again told me about the new display at the front of the store. I just nodded and walked away. The last straw was when I picked up a pretty flower pin, the first girl popped out of nowhere and tried to shove yet another basket in my hands… «Oh, NEED A BASKET NOW!!!»
Beyond frustrating. To boot, at the cashout I was TOLD to «go get something else» to save 50% on the second item. I told her I simply did not need anything else and to please cash me out. I was at the Wrentham outlets this past weekend at the Claire’s there, and while the store was messy, crowded, disheveled, and HOT, it was a 5-​star shopping experience compared to this place, which is a bummer since it’s so close to my school/​work. I just won’t be back… settle down, chicas!
