Love this Owen’s location! The atmosphere is so welcoming and casual. All the servers are attentive and after just a few times in the restaurant, one server knew my drink order! After coming in solely for drinks for a few nights-decided to try some food. Got the French dip sandwich(goes by a different name… but same thing) and it was delicious! The whole meal was hot and came out extremely fast, even during a busy time. Tamely priced, as well. Definitely highly recommend Owens!

Service was great, food came out in timely manor. Looked like a great place to meet after work and have a few drinks, but food was mediocre. I don’t know why I want the fish tacos but I got them that night. They were fried in this thick awful batter that was supposed to represent Irish fish and chips, it was awful. Only good part about the meal was the bread loaf that came with it. I’ve eaten at the Southboro location before and I remember it being so much better tasting. I think if you have a few drinks in you the food tastes better

Threw a party with 20 people. The meals were served on time, the waitresses were amazing and the food was great. All of this on a busy Friday afternoon. Great job!

Typical pub fair, average food, decent prices. Needs more wait staff in the bar during football games.

Decent pub type restaurant conveniently located off of I495. Typical pub fare. Great burgers, wings and beer selection. The Grand Slam pie dessert is killer.

It is what it is as a local coach would say. We went for lunch due to a recommendation from a local business. We just were looking for something quick and simple — this place fits the bill. The beer selection looks good(I must admit didn’t try any due to the fact it was a quick lunch while doing some business) the food we ordered was simple and pretty tasty so no complaints, the service was pretty standard as well. The bar looks like it’s a pretty well traveled route and they do seem to have a decent list of beer options.

Sat at the bar on a Tuesday night. Ordered a salad. A SALAD! 20 minutes later the bartender tells me he forgot to put my order in and asks me what I wanted. Really???

Decided to go there because it was close to 495 where friends could meet us. Four people smoking right outside the door was my welcome. In front of the sign that says«No smoking 15 feet of entrance.» Not cool, my wife and daughter wanted to turn around. They sneered. I decided to inform the hostess. She said she’d go out and talk to them. I did not want my friends and young kids to have that experience. Five minutes later, I went back outside. They were still there. I asked the hostess if she had gone out. She said«not yet.» I asked for the manager. Ten minutes later, I said never mind, I’ll call tomorrow, my friends are arriving. Next thing I know, the manager comes over, asks me what the problem is. As I’m explaining, he interrupts me. I say«excuse me, I was speaking.» He does not stop speaking. He says: «It’s my restaurant, I don’t know if I want you here.» I don’t know if he wants anybody there, if he is not willing to Follow the laws, listen to patrons who complain, and be something other than rude. We only had dessert. It was okay. The waitress was nice. The place was clean. But for a 60 year old man GM/Owner to treat us that way was deplorable. Too many other places to choose from. Good riddance.

If you want to go out for a beer then no complaints about this place. If, however, you are going to Owen O’Leary’s for dinner then I wish you the best of luck. The food at this place is really poorly made and with substandard ingredients. Even dishes that should be foolproof(Shephard’s Pie) were absolutely horrible.

What can be said orders were wrong… prime rib @ $ 16 was over cooked for medium rare. Sent one prime rib dinner back and came back well done vs med rare. Salmon was dry and over cooked like it had been sitting for a while and thrown in the oven. Bake potato was very good as well the onion rings. Beer was good(that’s the two stars are for) and ask for water with lime… Got lemon! Does not seem to have it together and will not be returning

The food at Owen O’Leary’s is decent. It’s not the greatest bar food I’ve had, but I guess their main draw is their different drinks. I thought the service was great and I liked the abundance of televisions for watching any sports game you wanted.

I tried this place after church one Sunday with my daughter. She ordered chicken fingers, per usual. When they came, I saw they were way greasier than at Denny’s or IHOP or any of the other millions of places my kid has ordered them. I told her she did not need to finish them, that they might upset her tummy. She lost interest halfway thru the second one. The manager was kind enough to remove them from our bill, but I won’t be heading back anytime soon. If you are a bunch of guys just looking to catch a game at the bar and drink, it would work well for that.

They lost a star due to pricing and item selection. The lost another star due to sub-par, overpriced food. The loss of a third star is from the amount of attention our waittress paid to us; a second waittress had to pick up the slack. Come here if you intend to order tidbits and get plastered. The bone-in wings are good. We will dine elsewhere, unless the Zombie Apocalypse happens and there is no other place to eat, which means never.

Two stars at best. Service was odd. It’s as if tonight was the server’s last night. Or did she treat me with such indifference because I was a dreaded single diner? Food was okay– not as bad as some of the reviews(grey stuffing-gross!). I had the chicken soup(decent flavor and served at an appropriate temperature) and the grilled tilapia. The fish was a bit bland, but it was grilled well and served hot. Calorie wise it’s probably safe on anyone’s New Years diet. In summary– food was decent. On a positive note– the bar is very inviting. It has good«noise» and a nice Classic Rock playlist going. Next time I’m headed there. I will let you know if the beer really is warm or not!

American pub fair. Not my typical cup of tea but it is close to work and we came here a few times for lunch. The food is generally mundane and doesn’t make much of an impression. The Loren and Wally is one of the specialty sandwiches so I decided to give it a try. The grilled chicken with onions, pepper and mushrooms is on the light, non-greasy side but the chicken was quite dry and bland. The bread is rather soft and not toasted for a crunchier texture. I got a side of brocolli which is nicely cooked to a nice texture, although it is pretty bland. Overall, it was an okay work lunch and not one that would put me into food coma. But the food is just mediocre at best.

I would go to the location in Southborough over this one. Nothing beats the original in this case. The food here is average and the prices don’t reflect the quality of food. You can get a better meal at a cheaper price elsewhere. Service was good but the place was empty. Overall very average experience.

Went here with my boyfriend. Beer selection is pretty decent. Prices are reasonable. We shared chili bowl and boneless buffalo chicken and it was delicious! There are a lot of Tvs near the bar and they offer free Italian subs on Sunday’s. Definitely recommended.

This place is not good, I’ve been a few times and the food isn’t tasty. We just went Sunday November 3rd2014 and had the special, which was a choice of roasted meat ie. beef, turkey, fish. My wife had the roast beef which tasted like steak-ums and I had the turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The stuffing had a grey color to it which wasn’t appetizing, and you could tell the cranberry sauce and the gravy was from a can. The service was slow, our server was friendly, but as it wasn’t busy our waitress shouldn’t have disappeared as often. Pros: Friendly Decent beer menu Cons: Slow service Bad food Cold inside

Really for an Irish bar this is too notch. Service is great, food is really good. Stayed in the hotel next door and food and drinks two nights in a row here. One of my favorite features, the bar has purse hooks and outlets. So smart, such a great touch.
