I have been at this pediatrician for about a year now and I finally had enough. First off, the wait times are ridiculous, you’re better off waiting at the emergency room. Even if you are early, which I am always at least 30 minutes early, you will be seen about an hour or 2 after you’re actual appointment time. Second, the staff are not helpful and make you feel like you are bothering with so many questions. Sorry I am a new mother and want to know if everything is right with my baby. When my daughter was 9 months old, she fell off the bed and hit her head. We panicked and ran to the drs office only to be told we couldn’t be seen within the next 4 hours. I understand that there are other kids but are emergencies not important? Anyways, we made an appointment for later the same day to follow up after her urgent care visit and we were finally seen 2 hours after our appointment time. At the visit, we were seen and were told they would do her 9 month checkup since we were already there. Well fast forward to her next appointment, they tried to scold us for not bringing her in for her check up and missing a shot(she DID receive a shot, they almost gave her the same shot twice). Recently, our daughter had an allergic reaction to milk when we tried to get her off formula and switch to cows milk. The nurses told us it was not necessary to bring her in. We took her to an urgent care center because she was occasionally vomiting for more than 3 days. Again, the nurses said it was not necessary to bring her in. After 5 days of no bowel movements, constant vomiting, only having my child on electrolytes, and an argument with the on call doctor(who blatantly told me I am not helping my child, I’m clueless, and said he would throw up too if he was given vegetable soup) we were finally seen, an hour after our appointment time of course. The only reason I stuck around for so long was because of insurance reasons, the minute my husband qualified for his new employer’s medical plan we switched pediatricians immediately. I think the only reason this office has a lot of patients is because they accept Medicaid and one of the drs, Dr. Alvarenga, who is actually a great doctor, speaks Spanish. Its a shame that unorganized and unprofessional staff can turn you away from a good doctor.
