Went here for lunch on a Sunday. I have to say, it was very good. Our waiter Victor was helpful and professional. I was impressed with the amount of beer they had on tap. We started with the egg roll sampler. It was excellent. I then had the chicken asian wrap and my wife had the turkey avocado sandwich. Both were really good. The bar area is nice and roomy and they have another room with a pool table. We will definitely go back.

Dinner with my wife– felt like something convenient. Service was laughable, burger was good and the only redeeming quality. The burger was slightly more cooked then requested and delivered not as requested either… Didnt feel like complaining. Then wait staff completely dissapeared. They never brought soda requested nor were very good about water refills until i started bashing them to my wife. My wifes dish just tasted like sh*tty jarred pasta sauce with some asiany sweet sauce combined. Nothing was exciting, if the burger wasnt decent i likely would have complained– instead I chose to leave a review. My coffee was pretty lousy and not even hot– all in all the restaurant kinda blows– just saying.

I really wish I had nicer things to say since we were staying at this hotel for our anniversary and decided to try the restaurant within. Our table was set with 1 fork 1 knife and we were never offered new forks with entrees … But that’s minimal compared to the fact that my husband ordered steak Diane and got the skirt steak instead(what I ordered). I originally ordered mine med rare and him medium but decided to change my temp to med so we could share(try different dishes). We receive the same dish(the skirt steak) and both were overlooked(absolutely not a hint of even a little pink in either). This dish was spicy, which I like, but my husband drank both our waters with no refill, and our glasses of wine. No one ever came to see how things were, offer more wine, or refill our waters. To top it all off, we were the only 2 people in the restaurant on this Friday night from 7:30 — 8:45! And then we sat and waited to be noticed for about 10 – 15 minutes to get dessert? Nope sorry just want the check… Please… Do I have to raise my hand?

I want to preface this with the fact that I very rarely give such horrible reviews. There is typically something that I can note on that is good about a restaurant… I cannot find that here. After I read the other Unilocal reviews, we didn’t come here for dinner. Thank goodness. However, my coworker and I came to get a drink and appetizer after a long night of working an event. I wish we wouldn’t have. We came in around 10:15pm and looked for a seat at the bar. There were about five people already sitting at the bar, then there were computers at some places and random things at other seats, so we asked if we could sit at a table that was about 2 feet from the bar(note: that at the end of the night, all of the things were still at the bar, but no one was sitting there. Efficient). A woman from behind the bar came over to give us a menu on a small tablet. We looked at the menu and each decided on a drink and appetizer. We were ready to order. Five minutes go by and we get a glass of water from another server. Another ten minutes go by and our server finally came back. I ordered the KO Punch and Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls. The menu stated that it came with a side of Blue Cheese Dressing, so I asked for ranch instead. The server looked at me like I had no idea what I was talking about and it said it comes with wasabi ranch… Well, the menu doesn’t say that. She states it’s wrong. Okay then. She asks if I still want the blue cheese crumbles in the eggroll, I say yes. We wait another good 10 minutes for our drinks. Not sure what took her so long. I was pretty excited for my drink, but was definitely let down. It came in a glass taller than a rocks glass, but not as tall as a pint glass and had a width slightly smaller than a rocks glass, so not too big of a drink. I took a sip and at first it tasted tropical with the coconut rum, then just tasted too strong and not great. It’s like the drink was trying too hard. Shortly after we got our drinks, our food came out. Not what I was expecting. The eggrolls were cut open, so it was a nice presentation. However, when I see buffalo chicken on a menu, I expect buffalo sauce on my chicken. If not, then definitely a spice to the meat. Nothing. It didn’t taste like buffalo at all, nor was it spicy. I also didn’t notice blue cheese or Gorgonzola inside at all, but did catch celery, which I hate so it would have been nice to note that on the menu. The eggroll shell itself had a nice taste, crispy, yet soft inside, but was so greasy that it dripped everywhere every time I took a bite. The insides didn’t do anything for me so I ended up just eating the eggroll shell on the last two. My coworker wasn’t a huge fan of his drink or appetizer either, but at that point we had no choice. After we were finished, another server cleared our plates. It was about 10 after 11pm, which is when they closed. We figured our server would bring our checks to get us out of there. No. Another 10 minutes go by and still nothing. Our server and a man in a suit(manager? Bar tender? I’m not sure?) stood behind the bar and shoveled popcorn in their face from a bowl that was on the bar. To me, it was so unprofessional and I was appalled. Finally I got up and had to ask for our checks. She finally brought them over and I was angry when I saw my total. $ 27 for a drink and appetizer. I get that I’m in New York and not Pennsylvania, but it was so over priced for not meeting the standards it should have. In my experience of going to an establishment for cocktails and food, I have never experienced such a lack professionalism and customer service from a «high quality» restaurant. The prices are extremely too high for what they are producing and for the service you receive. If you do go here, I hope your night is better than we had!

First let me say that maybe this was a bad night but when we saw an Open Table reservation for two at 8pm, I was skeptical. I was right. We parked in the parking lot pretty much near the front door to the restaurant which was odd. Assuming it was busy spots are usually not available on a Saturday night near the door. We walked up the stairs and entered the hotel/restaurant. You walk about 20 feet and make a left and you are in the bar area. Probably for both the restaurant and hotel. There were about 6 people at the bar. Looked like two people behind the bar and a few servers serving tables. There was no podium where the host/hostess would be so we were kinda in no man’s land. We both tried to make eye contact with ANYONE and after 5 minutes, one of the servers said«be with you in a minute». We stood and waited and still no service. Noticed what may have been a manager only because he was dressed in black and different from the rest. Although the bright white Adidas Superstars with the unassuming black outfit didn’t look professional, we still had no eye contact. This game went on for about another 10 minutes and we were approached by NOONE! Needless to say, while we were being ignored, we searched Unilocal by Marco Polo’s bar for a restaurant close by and found one and it was wonderful. I guess we should have yelled out«MARCOPOLO» like the kids game. Maybe someone would have helped us.

Service was impeccable which is unfortunate as the the food was disappointing. For the price one would expect the chefs to be able to actually not to destroy the meal you order by over cooking everything. I ordered the ribs which were just so horribly over cooked they were almost plastic. The drinks however were just amazing. Have to give it to that bartender amazing bar. And like keep I said wait staff is amazingly accommodating and helpful

I was staying in hotel so decided to try room service — $ 160 for basically bland food &25 $ gratuities that’s already included on bill– Dijon salmon was 1.5 stars — Diane filet migon was –1 star(although the mushrooms tasted good-) the steak tasted like pot roast– I give 2 stars because at least the bartenders know what they are doing — I ordered 2 bubble gum martinis and they sent them in large large classes that equaled to about 4& they were stiff ! And tasted yummy ! And the lemon drop shots were yummy !

Ate a few meals here while staying in hotel. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are comfortable, reasonably priced, spacious and well maintained. Now the restaurant, extremely overpriced and the wait staff spent more time with their heads buried in their phones than they did actually paying attention to the customers. The hostess was very busy but great. To start the meal, they bring out a complimentary bowl of edamame. I watched the chef dump it out of a bag of frozen soybeans, boil it for a few then drizzle some oil on it and some sea salt. Which was fine, thats how I make it at home. Pricing: A glass of iced tea -$ 3.50, a small side salad to add to ala carte dinner — $ 10. I would have loved to order a glass of wine but it was not with in my budget. My first meal: The eggroll sampler, a side salad, and a glass of tea. With tip that total was $ 42.00. The salad and tea were both very fresh and tasty. The egg roll sampler was very unusual. Nothing I would ever want to order again. I think certain foods do not belong inside an egg roll shell. They were far too greasy and chewy. The next meal: Side salad, glass of tea and a side order of linguini pesto(very small, no meat). That, with tip was $ 30.58. Again the salad and tea were very fresh and tasty, and linguini pasta was delicious. I had to call over a member of the wait staff to get a refill on my drink after waiting several minutes. Seemed very focused on the cellphone instead. If there were more choices nearby other than subway I would choose to go somewhere else first due to the pricing.

A groupon deal got us through the door and what a treat it was! Instead of the usual boring bread basket, we were served hot edamame with oil and sea salt. We never had them before so this was a great introduction and very yummy! We then had the crab cakes which were very good but the best was yet to come. I have the steak Diane and it was the best piece of steak I have ever had! The mushrooms and sauce along with the mashed potatoes were the perfect accompaniment. My boyfriend had the sesame crusted tuna which was amazing. The s’more egg rolls were a little disappointing. The shell was soggy and something seemed to be missing. I would love to go back and try something else especially if the other dishes are as good as what I had tonight.

Stayed at the Viana on business and had a quick dinner at the bar — great experience from beginning to end. I was greeted immediately upon entering even though there were several people at the bar being served. I was really intrigued by the Asian /Italian fusion menu, not sure how the flavors would work, but I actually really enjoyed it! I ordered a couple appetizers as my meal and loved everything. The vegetable dumplings were good, but I was blown away by the Mongolian Mozzarella sticks. Fresh mozzarella and Mongolian spices wrapped in a traditional egg roll — to die for. Chef Miguel came out to greet me(he says they try to for everyone — he even recognized a regular guest at the end of the bar) and talked to me a little about the concept, and some new ideas he has for the menu(all of which sounded amazing). The bartender(who name i can’t remember which makes me sorry because he was great) made me an excellent cucumber cocktail and remained attentive the whole time i was there. Hotel restaurants are typically so boring, all bar food and never that great, so I was understandably skeptical of Marco Polo — but I was more than pleasantly surprised by the creative menu and good food. I would absolutely eat here again if I’m ever back in town.

Okay so I have never eaten here, but my experience at the bar was enough to never want to. I have been here twice now, both for wedding after parties and both times were pretty bad to say the least. What I don’t understand about this place is that they are trying to be high end, yet their bartenders have no idea how to make a vodka soda. No joke — the bartender asked me FOUR times over the course of 15 minutes what I wanted again, it was really becoming comical. Even getting a beer was a challenge.

I don’t know if it was the wine, or what– but I had an amazing time! I purchased a $ 45. groupon allowing for a choice of any appetizer, any two entrees, and two glasses of wine. I don’t know how large the restaurant is because we were seated in the front, facing the bar. We sat in this very nice table with a comfortable couch like sectional seat. Everything looked really nice and fancy. I read one reviewer who said it was there worst meal here, but this was definitely one of the best meals I’ve had out. How I am treated when I go somewhere is more important to me than anything else– and all the staff were super friendly! The waitress… the bartender — even though I didn’t sit at the bar or order a drink(other than the wine) — he was very friendly. even the bus boy was friendly! I was really surprised. Instead of bread, they served hot soybeans lathered in a sea-salt garlic butter ! omg! I was licking the plate clean they were so good– even my brother liked them– and he hardly enjoys any type of food, other than pasta. For the appetizer, we ordered fried vegetable dumplings– they came drizzled with a sweet sauce, maybe apricot– I don’t remember– these were also really delicious(brother approved, as well!) For the entrée — my brother ordered pasta and marinara sauce(I told you so) — while I ordered the ahi tuna and mashed potato entrée– yum! I enjoyed every bite. The only complaint I do have is that the service was very slow– I don’t know how long it took for our appetizers to come out– we had been sitting there for over 40 minutes waiting. The entrees came out soon after. But everyone was so friendly, the food was out of this world, and I was having so much fun with my brother and our wine, so I didn’t mind! I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others!

Don’t come here. Without a doubt one of the worst meals I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Fortunately I was there using a groupon, $ 25 for $ 50 at dinner with a free bottle of wine, so it was wasn’t as much of a waste of money as it would have been otherwise. Split 3 appetizers and a flatbread pizza with my girlfriend. $ 16 crab cakes which seemed to be made of imitation crabmeat and flavorless bread crumbs. They were mushy and seemed to be baked. That was the only dish that appeared to actually be made on site. The open air kitchen allowed us to see the«chefs» opening bags of frozen food that they heated up and served to us. $ 14 for the worst calamari I’ve ever had. Don’t know why the other reviews were so positive but the kung pao calamari was awful. Chewy and very fishy in flavor. $ 9 chicken shumai was clearly frozen served with melted chunky Skippy peanut butter melted down. $ 15 flatbread pizza. Again dough was not made there. Sauce tasted and had consistency of a jarred sauce. All in all very disappointing. This meal could be made fresh at home with much better results. The place was empty @ 7 pm on a Friday. The layout and décor was terrible as well. Like I said. Don’t come here. You too will feel the sting of ridiculously over priced reheated, frozen food.

Read the reviews, decided anyway to go here for dinner last night as part of mine and my wife’s anniversary celebration. The food was delicious, the waitress and staff were very attentive and courteous. What killed the extra 2 stars? Not the staff’s fault but the designer/owner: tiny lounge they call a restaurant is just that: tiny. Room next to us with a bachelorette party, talking loud. Room behind us with a small party, music loud. People talking, loud. Open kitchen and dishes/pots clanging, loud. Very loud for a little place. Killer #2: crab cakes were delicious but tiny! I looked at the waiter bring us our large pretty dish with 2 tiny crab cakes, thinking to myself«you are bringing another dish, right?». Not a star killer really, but the price I paid for this dish was NOT worth it. Here is the killer, in 2 parts: A. We asked for a side dish of penne. It came out al dente, cool and loaded with garlic. No flavor whatsoever, tastes like half cooked pasta in water and garlic.(Our meals(steak Diane and chicken dish) were good). B. I asked for a cup of coffee to have with our dessert. It wasn’t hot, it wasn’t cold. It tasted like someone left the coffee outside and it rained in it. I looked at my wife like you have got to be kidding. Told the waitress the coffee is cold, she apologized then brought me out another(I think) cup of coffee that I almost burned my lips off(like McDonald’s) and had to let cool down. Overall impression: cute, food okay, service good. Wouldn’t go back though. Room for improvement.

We stayed at the Viana, and had a couple drinks here. They were offering a glass of house wine with Unilocal or foursquare check-in. I tried to use it and they informed me that it was only valid Sunday-Thursday. Womp Womp. They are expensive(but isnt everything in NY when you’re from Ohio?)

This trendy spa hotel popped in my neighborhood a few years ago. There are a ton of wedding halls and country clubs within a 10 mile radius of here. Why invite your family from out of town to have them stay in a best western or hampton suites. All of the luxury hotels on long island are spread out haphazardly. I will hopefully spend a night here to give a full review about the hotel but for now lets talk about the restaurant. The hotel is much nicer then I expected once you walk inside. There was a huge game room right in the entrance to Marco Polo which had a pool table and xbox. Absolutely brilliant. If you need a drink but can’t ditch the kids Marco Polo has solved your problems. This game room is part of the hotel itself obviously but it is the first thing you see if you come in the side entrance. The staff was very classy and friendly. The bartenders were amazing. It was pretty slow when we walked in but they were attentive with every patron that walked up to the bar. We came for happy hour. They have $ 5 well drinks and half priced appetizers(non seafood). Had a couple of drinks which were pretty strong. Order some of the wings per recommendation from the bar tender and some chicken shumai. Both were good. The menu comes on a mini tablet. I don’t think this is a great idea. Eventually you will have an easy to read paper thin touch screen menu at every restaurant but its not that time yet. The menu turned off on us cause the battery died so we had to get a new one. Not a big deal but I feel they could of spent the money elsewhere. The menu prices are a bit high. They have the usual run of the mill dishes on their dinner menu. Nothing innovative. Despite all this I did feel like I would come back for happy hour again and try more then just the appetizers. The bartender told us about the hotel while we ate. Not too shabby for a trendy hotel restaurant in the middle of a residential area. There are plenty of better choices for food or drinks in the area. Try the happy hour at least once(4 – 7 I believe) and if you like it alot go back for dinner.

I enjoyed all the food. The appetizers were very good, however, I noticed the dumplings came out of a bag instead of made from scratch. Despite this, they were very tasty and were doctored up with homemade sauce. I was hopping for house made with the amount I paid for the dumplings. However, I got a free glass of wine with a check in, and you get to order with an ipad. The ipad menu was very cool. I think they were short staffed that day because the service was sluggish, but not slow, they were very attentive. I recommend thsi place but it is a tad overpriced.

I read some decent reviews on Marco Polo’s so my girlfriend and I decided to go and give it a try. Well, first I’d like to say that the atmosphere is all wrong. It seems as if the restaurant was an afterthought of the hotel and rather renovate they just added some tables to a leg of the hotel. The Atmosphere was very disappointing. The menu is presented on digital readers that are outdated and don’t fit with the feeling they are trying to create. Maybe if it were a more modern reader it would be better. OKOK on to the food… We started off with the kung pao calamari. We at first thought it might be fried but it was not, just regular calamari but the flavor of the sauce was fantastic. Outstanding actually, if it were over a bed of rice it would be a perfect entrée. For our entrée’s my girlfriend got the shrimp stir fry which was very tasty. I decided on the Spicy thai skirt steak. It was very good, the flavors were good and the wasabi mashed potatoes were very interesting but very good. Now you might be asking why the three stars if the food was good. My problem is although the entrees were very good I don’t see them being something I couldn’t cook myself at home. It was good but I don’t think I would return
