I made it a priority to find this Deli on Unilocal and leave a review because I doubt very many people that don’t work on or around State street will ever know this place exists. At first glance there’s nothing remarkable about it however, after a couple of visits you’ll really start to notice their attention to detail and extra effort they put into everything they doing. Everything they make is finely crafted and ingredients seem to go through a visual inspection to ensure quality :). The family that runs this place are super friendly and know you by name after just a few visits. I really can’t say enough about them, they seem to be just good old fashion hard working people that probably could do much more business with a better location. The only issues are that they don’t take cards and state street is a narrow one way with cars usually taking up half the parking/driving area.

I would have never found this place without the help of the«nearby» function on the Unilocal app on my phone. In fact I’ve been working across the street for over 12 years and had no idea this place event existed. I’ve been looking for an alternative to my boring old office cafeteria that Igo to by default when I’m lazy and I think I’ve found the place. I pulled up and parked right in front. Most of the traffic on this block is either for the office building next door or other places that have their own lot so there is ample street parking. Once I walked in I noticed a few tables but I was still going to take my order to go. The place is clean and the employees that greeted me were nice. I informed them I may need a minute since it was my first time there and the clerk was helpful enough to show me their daily lunch specials. I ended up ordering off of that menu. The specials included 6 or so different selections including a philly cheese steak, turkey wraps etc. all for a total of $ 5.25 +tax each which ends up being $ 5.70 total. I’d say that’s a pretty awesome deal. I did notice a salad bar but it seemed to be closed. I decided on the Turkey and muenster wrap with lettuce and tomato. I forgot to take a pic because I was so hungry I wasn’t even thinking straight. By the time I realized it most of it was gone so you can tell it was good. They use fresh ingredients. I am sure of this because I observed them as they were chopping. They use quality meats and cheeses made by Boarshead. That’s a major plus! I decided to keep the order simple this time and I was pleased so I will definitely be back to try other’s. They have a good variety of beverages as well. Snapple, soft drinks, Jarritos Mexican soda’s, energy drinks, coconut and aloe water. They also have these adorable small little single serve glass jars of martinelli’s apple juice. I’ve never even seen theses sold anywhere else. Finally there is one small little thing that was a bit out of order with my experience. When I came in and ordered there was no one waiting. By the time I left there was three people waiting. One of the people that came in after me got their food first and it was a grilled cheese. How is a grilled cheese done before something that doesn’t require any grilling? I don’t get it, but I did over here that they were working on a delivery order so they may have already been working on some other sandwiches and got distracted. I will give them a pass this time but if it happens again I will mention it. My order however was 100% correct even with the last minute alteration I asked for to add mustard.

This place is close to my house so I wanted to give it a try. Came here on a weekday afternoon for lunch and the place was completely empty. The Asian dude behind the counter was very eager to make me a good deli sandwich. He inquired about how I liked my sandwich, what stuff goes inside and how much. Good! As my body started secreting insulin in anticipation of the reward, I waited 10 minutes before I had my sandwich. It was alright, nothing bad, nothing to remember. Cash only! There’s an atm inside.

Great deli. I’ve never been inside but I order often from a nearby corporate office. Their food is delicious and the deliveries are always fast. Also, everyone I speak with on the phone is always courteous and they always remember who I am which is nice. Highly recommend it.

State street deli is hidden off the main road under the shadow of a corporate office complex. A diamond in the rough, one might say. Most of the people that come frequent this deli are usually professionals that flood in during the early morning to lunch hours. With good reason. Every weekday at 11am, the owner rolls out the fresh salad, fruit and deli bar for its patrons in the know. If you’d like to sit down and catch a bit of the game or rest your legs and catch up over a meal, state street deli has the space to do so with at least 6 different tables for you to sit at. The real winner isn’t in the bar or interior or tv, it’s the owner and the sandwiches that really contribute to the star status of state street deli. The chicken cutlets are made fresh every morning and the owner never skimps on the quality or portion of your meal, ensuring the most bang for your buck. Pro tip: Have a sandwich that includes the garlic bread option. Your taste buds will thank me letter. ie. Yankee Clipper

so i kinda got lost looking for another place but ended up here. this little deli kinda situated in a sketchy little side street. buuut needing food i went in and left completely satisfied another deli, lunchmeat selling, grocery type place but with places to sit and a little salad bar with hundreds of sandwiches for lunch/dinner i scanned the menu and stopped on the yankee clipper. chicken cutlet, fresh mozarella, roasted peppers, lettuce, tomato, garlic, mayo, wow, wow, good. even had cream soda. actually i’m going to change it from 4 stars to 5, just for that. will most definitely be going back to try other sandwiches during my time in long island. which is when im working, so having sandwiches like that to put me in a better mood is always good
