Hands down, the best dumplings we’ve ever had and at a great price…50 cents a piece come on… well worth it! Beef lo mien is very tasty with very tender beef… melted in my mouth. Staff is super friendly and it’s a nice quiet place, small but very clean. We are definitely going back. Worth the ride from eastern connecticut. Love it.

My friend and I were here last night for dinner. I think the people working were the owners and their son. They were all very friendly. The food was good. Super love the dumplings and the sauce that comes with it. I tried the pork and vegetable. I also got the beef and mixed veg. I like that they put celery in it and do not put in water chestnuts. My friend liked her garlic chicken but she would have liked it to be a tad hotter. This place is also BYOB so that is awesome. The only downside is there was no music at all so it lacks atmosphere. We were the only ones in there so there was no real noise other than the owners talking. I stopped in again recently for a carry out. I ordered beef with broccoli and they gave me chicken instead. This is why you do not have 2 completely different dinners under the same combo number. The fried rice was bland too. Maybe I will just stick with what I got last time.

You need to come try their food. Everything I’ve had has been excellent but I definitely echo menu other reviews when saying that their dumplings are something special. Exceptional. And an amazing deal. In fact, they should charge more for them. This is absolutely my go-to spot for Chinese now in Westerly. Run by a very very nice couple who deserve your support!

Came here on Unilocal recommendations raving about the dumplings. All warranted. We got both steamed and fried dumplings and both were top rate at modest prices. Beijing fried rice was ok but overshadowed by the dumplings and the pleasant, friendly service.

This place is the absolutely the worst Chinese place. I am of Chinese decent, originally born and raised in Westerly but lives out of town, and was in town this weekend so figured I would try it out. Here is why I have this opinion: 1) I ordered 2 «Special Dishes». They did not provide rice. Where has anybody ever gone to a chinese place and not been provided rice for 2 entrees? And the guy even argues«…it is not on the menu that rice is provided…» 2) I ordered«Seafood Delight» and a «Tofu Dish». Both tasted bland, with the dish consisting mostly of lettuce. 3) The peapods(aka snow peas) were not even prepped correctly. A good restaurant snips both ends and peels, so the customer has a better chewing experience by having tender vegetable. It’s similar to peeling string bean ends. Not here. No prep here… So, the combination of bland taste, apparently lazy food prep, and not even providing rice with dishes makes this place a «DONOTGO». This place has nothing when compared to old established chinese places in Westerly like Lucky House, Chens, and the infamous China Village. Stay away… you are better served all around going to traditional core Westerly places. P. S. Anybody can cook and fry dumplings, or boil them in broth.

We’ve been here too many times to count and it has set the standard for a simple steamed pork dumpling(the Beijing dumpling). Some of the other items we’ve tried are typical of what you’d get at main st US Chinese restaurant, but the dumplings keep us coming back. Now that I’ve read other reviews, we’ll definitely try the scallion pancakes soon.

Homemade pork dumplings are the reason to go to Beijing Dumpling. The crispy scallion pancake and tasty Home-style Bean Curd(AKA Ma Po Tofu) are the bonuses. Tucked away in a little shopping plaza in Westerly, this spot would be easy to miss. The dining area is small, but clean and neat. While most people seem to do takeout, we ate there for lunch so we could enjoy the dumplings as soon as possible. The skins are the perfect level of crispy, the filling is full of flavor and the quantity is amazing — 12 dumplings for $ 6? Most place charge the same but only give you six dumplings. Personally I think you measure the quality of a Chinese restaurant by the dumpings and Ma Pa tofu. Using just these two dishes puts Beijing dumpling into the category of one of the best Chinese spots in New England. Definitely worth the drive to Westerly, RI and parking is free unlike driving to Boston’s Chinatown.

Great food. Won ton soup had fresh veggies and great dumplings. The fried noodles were fresh and light. Ok so the dumplings and sauce were awesome! ! Pork fried rice was great and pork lo mein both outstanding. Don’t miss this little gem. Gotta fix the lights on the parking lot but get there it’s worth it!

Full disclosure, I’m American, of Caucasian descent, so what do I know about Chinese food? That said, I have lived in Taiwan and Japan, love dumplings and ate them regularly while there. We go into NYC on «dumpling crawls.» BD’s dumplings are as good as I have ever had. They also seemed to be very quality conscious. The décor was, well, Chinese, but it was clean, service superb, and the tea was organic. You can tell cheap tea if you look in the pot and see little sticks(filler) mixed with the leaves — not here. Go.

As I’m new to the area this is my first experience with Chinese take out in this general vicinity. Overall, we were very pleased with the food. We ordered and shared several dishes. First the scallion pancakes — I thought they were actually pretty delicious. They reminded me more of a quesadilla than a pancake(without the cheese of course). It seemed to be a double layer of flat pan fried egg roll wrap with a layer of scallion in between. They were deliciously crispy and if you love scallions, then they should be on the list of «must trys». We also sampled the famous pork & vegetable dumplings that so many others have mentioned. They had a good sear on one side and the flavor of the filling was delicious. There was a nice combination of pork and vegetable throughout. I didn’t think the sauce was anything special(tasted like a slightly doctored soy sauce with garlic) and I opted to eat them without it. On to the crab rangoons — this was my only real disappointment. I’m not sure if this is a regional difference or specific to this restaurant, but the filling was a watery ricotta base with a slight hint of crab flavoring and without any real pieces of crab meat. My experience with this dish has always been more of a cream cheese based filling with pieces of crab meat mixed in and I didn’t care for this variation. Last was the General Tso Chicken combination plate. It was wonderful! Excellent balance of sweet and spicy without my mouth being on fire, but certainly a nice little kick. The chicken was mixed in with green peppers which was a nice twist… Again, not sure if that’s a regional thing or something specific to this restaurant, but I’m used to this dish being served with a mix of broccoli rather than pepper. I enjoyed it very much with the pepper though. The pork fried rice which accompanied the chicken was average — nothing bad to report, just nothing that stood out to me as above average. I was a big fan of the egg roll — the wrap was a nice thick wrap with a great crisp on all sides. The filling had large pieces of pork rather than just tiny shreds and the vegetable mixture was a great balance of Chinese veggies and wasn’t over powered with shredded cabbage like so many other places. The phone order process was a little bit difficult when it came to giving the delivery address and had to be repeated and spelled out many times before it was finally relayed, but they ultimately did have the correct address. This wasn’t by any means a major issue, but it did take a bit of time and patience. The delivery was quoted as 25 minutes, but actually showed up in closer to 50 minutes. The delivery man was very polite.(I would have appreciated if they had included a menu in the bag for easier future ordering though as the only menu I had were the photos that someone else generously uploaded to Unilocal!) Overall, I was satisfied with most of the food. The only thing that we had which I wouldn’t order again were the crab rangoons, but I look forward to trying some of their other dishes.

Best dumplings I have ever had! They really hook it up too. For like 6 dollars you get close to 15 dumplings. The rest of their food is descent. The general taos is pretty good. I love the lady who runs the place too. She gave my gf a «good luck» bracelet after our first meal there. Very small and personal inside.

One word, dumplings. Honestly best damn dumplings I have had in a long time. I moved out of Westerly and miss Bejing Dumpling but I guess it is good for my waist line. Seriously keep making those dope ass dumplings. Healthy portions that don’t break the bank hoorah. Personally I wouldn’t eat in there but take out for sure. Only thing that made me concerned was when I creeped a look into the kitchen… But hey its your call.

Yes. Best Chinese food in Westerly. The owners are really friendly people, always a plus. It’s a typical Chinese restaurant inside but it’s definitely clean so eating in is an option. The food is less typical. It’s actually amazing. Way better than anything else around.

Clearly the dumplings are the stars here — perfectly fried and with a delicious filling, whether pork, chicken or veggie, with a thin wonton cover that is light and elegant, served with a dipping sauce that nicely balances salty and sweet. Five stars for the dumplings. That said we were less impressed with the other dishes we ordered. The scallion pancake was a bit oily and lacked a little punch from the scallions, not bad but not great either. The hot and sour soup looked beautiful, but was a little off to my taste. One possibility is the type of chilies they are using for heat — I asked the waitress(owner?) to bring me some hot oil and instead she brought a vinegar based chili sauce. I detected the same sauce in the hot and sour soup and I think the dish suffered for it. We also ordered some mixed Chinese vegetables in a brown sauce which was just ok. The place it self is tiny, but with nice new tables and chairs it is certainly more elegant than your typical Chinese strip mall place. All in all, the dumplings were just good enough to pull the overall rating up to four stars but just barely. Certainly the dumplings are good enough to justify stopping by, but I’m not sure where to go from there.
