Carsonie’s has been in the same spot for a long time. Which usually means its good eats. The other night the wife and daughter and myself stopped in. Wife and I both started with caesar salads. They were decent sized and well dressed. Daughter ordered a basic cheese pizza. The slices and crust were both huge. She pretty much killed it herself. Wife ordered the lasagna. She said it was very delicious. The sauce was done right and was nice and cheesy. I had the chicken parm with spaghetti Alfredo. The chicken was perfectly tender and breaded nicely. The sauce was rich and very flavorful. The alfredo sauce was ok, A little bland, but that could be in contrast to the tomato sauce on the chicken. The staff is very polite and friendly. the location itself is comfortable with plenty of seating inside and out. There is evena full size Bocce pit. We didnt get a chance to place because there was a group on it the whole time we were there. For sure worth a return visit.

The food was not bad we did get the subs but the service was not the greatest. Our waiter did not come back to the table for 25 minutes while our drinks were empty. Mind you I said we got the subs it took us almost 40 minutes to get those. I had to take our glasses up for refills.

Stromboli is the best you will find anywhere in the U.S. Tip: Hit up the $ 8.99 lunch buffet on Wednesdays. Update: I still see people giving this place less than 5 stars. And, what do they all have in common? THEYDIDN’T TRYTHESTROMBOLI. Seriously, people, it’s not an exaggeration: If you don’t get the stromboli, what are you doing with your life? So, I’ll repeat that again: GETTHESTROMBOLI. No offense to the rest of their menu, but there is literally no need to get anything else. At all. Want to try other things? Go to the buffet as I mentioned before. That way, if you’re not impressed with other menu items, THESTROMBOLIISOFFEREDDURINGTHEBUFFET; YOUHAVENOEXCUSEFORNOTTRYINGIT.

Always drove by this place but never had a chance to check it out — till now. Was pleasantly surprised. This place was packed and for good reason, the food was simply delicious! The owner himself was navigated through the place to make sure everyone was completely satisfied. We even a slight mix-up in our order and they gave us extra fries to take home. The décor dates back to the 80’s but I like that so if you’re looking for an old fashion Italian restaurant you should check this place out.

I went here because I wanted Italian but for the price and quality I would have been better served going to the nearby Fazolis. I ordered ravioli because I was in the mood for it but the food was very average Italian with a sauce whose flavor was generic Italian with no detectable seasonings. Was it a red cream sauce — probably, and the ravioli that was store bought quality. I luckily didn’t have issues with service but I went in at 2 pm on a Sunday. At least for ravioli. I’d have been better off going to Fazolis.

Stromboli is to die for… never had anything else. It is made to order so expect 45 minutes but it is worth the wait.

Have been going there for probably 20 years… Service is great, food is comforting… Owner can be a tyrant to the staff on occasions… But really worth the trip to stop in and get something to eat… Pastas are amazing and the Angus burger is cooked perfectly

Five stars for the Stromboli alone! Didn’t try anything else. My parents brought this to our house for dinner along with 2 pizzas. I didn’t try the pizza but it looked average(nothing special) but the Stromboli was out of the park! We have lived in Westerville for over a decade and never made it down to this place for whatever reason. This is the go to Stromboli place now. I might try something else but probably won’t. Excellent!

I never knew I could use the word«dry» to describe a spaghetti sauce, but, here we are. So, after calling in the order and spending $ 20 on this meal I ended up making my own sauce which I suppose I should have done in the first place. Also, thanks for the frozen tiramisu. At least put it in the fridge before the dinner rush, guys. Come on.

This place has been here forever, and somehow I keep passing it by. I used to live on this side of town and run errands right here, but always ended up eating somewhere else. I’d been to the one on Lane and it was pretty good. Today I finally stopped in at this one, and it’s not bad. It’s a sort of cross between a mom and pop Italian place and a sports bar. Much smaller inside than I expected, and I bet it’s crazy when it’s full. There’s a big covered patio too. I had lunch on a Wednesday, and arrived just after their buffet ended(11 – 2 Wednesdays.) It didn’t look very big– pizza, pasta, breadsticks. They let me grab a slice of pizza as they packed up; it was old and cold, but still pretty good, so I bet it’s fine when it’s fresh. I went with the Italian Stallion sub, with a side of pasta salad. The sub was big, on good bread, with very good fillings. The meat was tasty and there was plenty of it. The veggies were fresh, even the tomatoes(not garden fresh, but a lot better than most pink plastic ones you get.) The pasta salad was meh. It was made with orzo(I think– it was slightly bigger than some orzos I’ve had.) And there just wasn’t much flavor. I picked at it, but was not impressed. Service was good, prices are good, and I’d come back for the buffet or to explore the menu.

So came here on a Wednesday night. There was a total of maybe 10 tables, these tables were spread out among 2 different rooms and an outside area. There was ONE waitress. Behind the bar area maybe 4 – 5 younger employees could be found talking it up, hanging out and hopefully helping the ONE person at the bar. However the ONE waitress was left to fend for herself and all the tables. Our food took forever, after 20 minutes waiting for pasta and a sandwich it was dropped off by one of the«bartender» people who dropped it quick as hell and ran off despite our attempt to stop her and tell her we never got our appetizer or the salad that my wife ordered. I mean she was GONE. This could have been rectified if the ONE waitress had came to check on us ATALL during the 50 minutes we were there. As it was she never made it back until we were through eating. Drinks empty for about 10 minutes food already eaten. This was our first chance to say«hey, we never got our appetizer or salad». She didn’t seem to care enough to say sorry but did say it was the person who brought us our foods fault. This is true but if you once bothered to come see us we wouldn’t be having this conversation 20 minutes after our food was dropped off. This place is just ran like crap. You can tell nobody cares from previous reviews on here. Hope it finds decent management someday for the sake of anyone dumb enough to ignore the warnings and eat here.

I need a pizza joint in every town I live in… Something cozy, that has a quaint, family feeling… With great food-obviously. Carsonie’s is my go-to. They have the best Stromboli. The pizza, loaded fries & house salads are delicious too. I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve gotten here. A true gem in Westerville.

Some of the best Stromboli I’ve had, anywhere. They used to have bocce ball courts outside — a lot of fun and a super unique restaurant experience — but I’m not sure if they still do. The restaurant has been very empty the few times I’ve dined in. I recommend take-out.

Lived in Westerville my whole life… forty years and never been here. I have been missing out. Got the medium wings and a medium pepperoni pizza. The wings are AWESOME! Great flavor, crunchy and just the right size. The pizza was great, very cheesy(just the way I like it) and we did not get extra cheese. The pizza sauce tastes like it was made just before it was put on the pizza, super fresh. The waitress was nice and attentive and they are generous with their drinks. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, it doesn’t matter if you’re a Buckeye fan or not. Can’t wait to come back for some more wings and maybe a Boli or some pasta or anything else on the menu because it all looked good.

I’d been wondering about Carsonie’s for awhile. My fiancée had told me that we should eat there some time and then we went there last night for dinner. From the outside, the restaurant doesn’t really look like much. Just a small building in the parking lot of a strip mall. But inside, Carsonie’s was filled with small knick-knacks and Ohio State things. The menu was also filled with things to order! We started with an order of their garlic bread which was very good and we received excellent service the whole time. When it came time to order entrée’s, my fiancée had the ravioli and I ordered the baked penne. Both items came with side salads and bread. The baked penne was great! I plain to go back to Carsonie’s sometime soon and also maybe try out the Upper Arlington location.

Even though I like this location less than the one in Upper Arlington, this is the original and I think the stromboli was even better here so 5 stars again from me for best stromboli in Columbus or anywhere for that matter! The location is in a old and run down part of Westerville in the middle of a strip mall. In fact the outside area is in the middle of a parking lot. It’s fenced off but still all you hear is cars so we ate inside. I bet this was here before the strip mall and used to look different. Inside tons of photos and knick knacks, just pretty old looking. Our server looked as she had been crying, no smiles or good feelings here, in fact everytime she came back she looked worse. Nonetheless, she serviced us well. We got the garlic bread to start since we knew we would have to wait at least half an hour for the ‘boli. We were about to tell her nevermind when it took half an hour for the garlic bread to come. The idea was to have something to munch on while waiting, not get dinner two bites into the bread. Oh well, it was still great, fresh, cheesy, crunchy, garlicy. I had a caesar salad as well which was also good. The stromboli a real work of art, we got mushrooms, onion, ham and bacon, it was cooked to perfection, the mariniara for dipping also perfect, really worth the $ 20 any and everyday! Along with the strange server and run down feeling what REALLY bugged us when that the host and a server were at the booth next to us taking all the straws out of the paper and putting them in a pitcher. My husband and I were speechless, in fact this is what kept us grossly entertained the whole wait for dinner. The guy was banging the straws on the table so they push up the top, laying they half open on the dirty table, then when he had enough pulling all the tops to remove the rest. The chick was biting open the paper and pulling each out and they put them in a foggy looking water pitcher, I’m assuming to save the waiters time. When we first saw this my husband took his and my sons straw out right away, me I am glad that I never drink out of straw to begin with. I usually can’t keep my mouth shut and wanted to yell how nasty that was but I couldn’t get myself to which now pisses me off. Still the food is top notch, as long as you know to avoid drinks with straws you will have an amazing dinner!
