5 stars. I don’t give out those very often but, my experience was definitely one to remember! I arrived around 830pm, when i initially drove past it looked like it was closed or just your normal daily deli. I rechecked Unilocal and address was correct. I entered and quickly realized the view from the street does not allow you to see the amazing eating area in the back with a long stretched bar. The employees explained to me the reasoning for that is to depict what it was like during the days of prohibition. .where you were not able to see the drinking areas from the street. First of all, this was by far the most informative experience I have ever had. My waitress Sarah was absolutely amazing. She explained the menu to perfection and i ordered the 5 beer tester called the flight. Although each beer was listed on the menu, she personally examined each one and also brought me a few smaller samples of nitro… where most beers are on CO2, the nitro definitely had a different taste and i would have never known had she not examined. I was so very impressed with her knowledge, kindness and how impeccably amazing her service skills were. The couple next to me wanted to know the different between the stout beer. Dan, another exceptionally amazing employee came and sat at the table in between us with two glasses in his hand each filled with a different grain. He went into explanation and a lesson and i was so impressed. The knowledge Dan shared was utterly amazing. Between the service, skills and expertise Sarah and Dan showed, this is why this place gets the full 5 stars. These two amazing people need to be recognized and seriously either promoted to training as i have never, in my 28 years of life learned so much in such a short amount of time. Service goes a long way. I hope your management sees this, because i walked out of there with a huge smile on my face. Kuddos x million to those two awesome people. Now on to the food– the wedding soup was the best i have had in Columbus since Zuppa closed down. So i knew the food was going to be great! I ordered the turkey sub with red onion sauce, spinach, cucumber, Turkey and onion sauce. It tasted so unbelievably fresh– very impressed. The home made chips were astonishing, and for an extra $ 1.50 i totally recommend ordering their chip dip– your salivary glands will be happy. The outside patio is also large with 12 tables, i am sure it is beautiful in the summer and i was told the front glass door opens completely so you can walk in from the street. I definitely recommend ordering the flight sampler of beers, gives you great variety and different tastes. for $ 10 it can’t be beat. You can also purchase a large growler for $ 5 that holds 64 oz which usually costs around $ 15 to fill. you can take it home with you and also bring it back for future visits and will just need to pay to fill it up. Yes it is glass and very large. This place super exceeded my expectations. I CANNOTWAIT to go back! Sarah mentioned my turkey sandwhich keeps well and tastes great even the next day. Very important information! Sarah and Dan– yall killed it! Thank you for your amazing service and i hope your employer recognizes how blessed they are to have individuals like you doing amazing representation!

A deli AND brewery?! HECKYES. We were looking for a place to have a late lunch, and of course, a beer if at all possible. We looked at Temperance Row Brewing and also Uptown Deli… and it wasn’t until we arrived at our destination that we realized IT’S THESAMEPLACE. Winning! Tried a flight of the standard beer pours as well as the food. We all really liked the Scottish ale and the Porter. Not a huge IPA or Pilsner fan, so I can’t comment. As far as the food goes, I’m a sucker for a good deli sandwich and I’ve never met a pickle I didn’t like. I had the Frenchy, which came on a massive baguette. It was a lot of bread, but I really liked the fillings — the spicy dijon had a sneaky kick to it, and the brie helped mellow it out. Next time I think I would try the Figaboutit, because I love all things goat cheese + fig. It’s nice that they have some pretty tasty looking vegetarian options along with the typical deli meats. Cute shop with plenty of seating. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and beer. There is an actual deli in the front so you can take home more of the items you liked. Also a full bar area in the back. I can’t say I make it up to Westerville very often, but I was very happy to have tried this place!

We wandered over here for an early dinner this past weekend. We were seated promptly, although, I would have liked to be in the bar area(just to see what it is like)… we sat in a very comfortable booth in the deli area. My husband and I both ordered beer flights. We got a mix of beers on nitro and«normal». It was great to be able to taste the same beer on CO2 and on nitro. For food, I ordered the reuben and my husband ordered the Paesano. The reuben was one of the best I’ve ever had and I have had many. I had the macaroni salad as my side and it was the best pasta salad I’ve ever had… I may have to buy buckets of it in the summer time. It was perfect. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Paesano sandwich, he said it was one of the best Italian subs he’s ever had. For me, the only hitch in the proceedings was the chips… they were over-spiced with black pepper and seemed stale. I don’t know if they make the chips in-house or not, but I would give them another shot. Overall, we both had a great time here. The food is tasty, the beers are solid and the staff are friendly and efficient. I look forward to spending a good bit of time over here.

Walked in and bartender said sit anywhere so we sat at a table. Watched the bartender grab a couple bites to eat then use their phone. Then we waited, and waited, and waited and no one came. The bartender addressed but apparently didn’t alert the server we were there and there were maybe 5 guests at the bar. The food is overpriced for a deli sandwich you could take 5 minutes to make at home. The beer is maybe if you have already had a few. The portions are pathetic. There are much better options right down the road in uptown so don’t bother going here.

Went here last Friday evening for dinner. Great atmosphere and crowd and no wait for a table. My husband I I both really liked our sandwiches. We tried the beer flight and weren’t impressed. Not terrible, but not great. Plenty of other drink options available. Will definitely go again.

Our first visit & we’ll be back. Got to speak to their Brewmaster which was really interesting & love their Christmas Ale — we actually bought our first Growler to go with this! Other ales at lunch wee their Pilsner which was really good & their Scottish Ale. All pictured — Christmas Ale is the darkest. Our table had 4 of their sandwiches all of which were great served with homemade potato chips, potato salad, cole slaw or macaroni salad. If you get the chips add a side of their homemade chip dip. Only thing that could be construed as a negative was the container for the potato salad, it was smaller than liked because it was sooo good.

Cool spot with open concept. My Reuben was dry and they charge a lot for a skimpy glass of wine. Desserts are pretty good.

Great place to get delicious food and good beer. The figaboutit sandwich is fantastic! Prices are very reasonable. The staff is very nice and dogs are even allowed in the back patio. They will even give your dog a water dish. The beers are solid. Highly recommend the scotch ale on nitro. Will definitely come here agin!

I had a late lunch here based on the attached microbrewery. I ordered a corn beef on rye to go along with my beer flight. It was decent and very filling. It was good but could have used some mustard or something to add a little kick to it. I actually enjoyed the beers and salad better than my sandwich. Eat in the bar area, a lot better atmosphere than the deli out front.

This review is a little late getting to Unilocal.Sorry for that! We went here over the summer for a date night. It was really hopping… even at 5pm on a Friday! It was a pretty new establishment when we went, but the service was quick, and we didin’t have to wait for a table. The patio was open, but in order to get a table, we had to sit by the deli. The server was very attentive, and she quickly got an order for a few appetizers and even offered a sample of the beer(prior to ordering). We were glad that we had a few samples, because it did help us to make up our mind as to what type of beer we wanted. The appetizers came out quickly and were fresh and hot. They were good… Husband had the anchovies(which he loves). I even tried one, and they were much tastier than I had envisioned! We both ordered sandwiches(which is basically what the menu was at this point in time). Again, the food was fresh. I had the smoked salmon baguette, and it was good. However, I thought the prices for it were a bit much. With those kinds of prices, we can’t really afford to go and eat there on a regular basis. Overall, the experience was a good one. We met one of the brew guys, which was cool. Management at the time seemed very attentive. We will go back, but it’s a bit pricey(in my mind) for a weekly trip there. If it was a bit more reasonable, we would go every week. The other kicker was that they didn’t offer a kids menu. I really think that they should review this choice(and maybe they have). A kids menu would certainly get more families there… and being in Westerville, that is certainly a crowd that you want to get to your eatery!

Get the smoked salmon sandwich! It was awesome! We also decided to get a growler of Oktoberfest to take home. Smoothest beer I have ever had. Get it now, though. I heard they are almost sold out already! Will definitely be back and plan to bring out of town guests here.

Wow, what a cool atmosphere here. I walked in and felt like I was in a big city downtown sandwich deli. The staff was great — both hostess and waiter were very friendly. I was alone getting a sandwich and my waiter was chatting me up about my favorite beers(Temperance Row Brewing is attached part of this business). I had the impression he enjoyed his job and talking to the people that come in. The beer selection is great and everything is made on site. Something for every palate. Plenty of sandwich options here and you can buy meats and cheese if that’s your fancy. This would be an awesome place to have lunch. I was honestly surprised to find something like this in Westerville. I know it’s a classy uptown, but man, this place just does it right. I love the combination of a sandwich deli in the front and a microbrewery in the back. They each feel like they have their own space, but you can enjoy the best of both worlds in either room. I ordered the black bean chipotle burger, which was only slightly spicy and worked my palate in all the right ways. It came with chips and a pickle and I was plenty full by the end of my meal. The beer sampler helped! My wife and I shared the soft pretzel appetizer last time we went and it was the perfect start to a meal. Fun and light. A final nice touch worth noting is the music selection. I know plenty of people who wouldn’t even pay attention to this detail, but it can make or break my experience when I am sitting alone, believe it or not. I heard Radiohead, Pixies, Lumineers, and other artists that create a certain vibe that I am privy to. It feels like a hand-picked selection of artists to create a mood similar to their food and their craft beer!

I’d give it a 3.5 «total» if I could. The beers? Phenomenal. Loved their Pilsner, their Scottish, porter, watermelon wheat. Great lineup. Order the flight. Their food? Not overly remarkable, but it’s good! I think their beers and apps shine more than their sandwiches(that I have had so far). I’d love their sandwiches to have a little more flavor. Their service? Our server was super friendly, and attentive(and it was busy! — Saturday afternoon). We didn’t talk beers, but she pointed out what was popular, and her personal favorites. I’ll be back, for sure!

Everything was Amazing… Except the service… Let’s start with the positive… The food– TOPNOTCH! We had the beer cheese, sausage and rye, and the Black Bean Hummus for appetizers… They were both worth recommending! For our Sandwiches– We had the salmon sandwich, and the black bean Chipotlé burger… Again, both SLAMDUNKS! The food so far, are all«wins!» The beer, also pretty noteworthy! We had the winter ale, and I would most definitely suggest that anyone(over the age of 21) give it a try! The service… Meh. The girl clearly wanted to get out for the night ASAP… We split an extra beer because it was actually that good, and maybe to prolong the inevitable? 4 stars despite the lacking service.

The Uptown Deli and Brew Pub is a great addition to Uptown Westerville. The deli portion of the business doesn’t appear to be open yet but the brew pub portion is open and is really good. The décor is really geared to old Westerville with some items focused on Westerville’s part in the temperance movement. In fact, the on-site brewery is called Temperance Row. On my 1st visit, we tried the Reuben sandwich and the pastrami on rye — both served with house-made chips. Both sandwiches were excellent and the chips were delicious. We tried a Porter and a Scottish brew and both were really good. Prices for sandwiches are generally in the $ 10 range and the beers are generally $ 5.50 — not bad for a really good sandwich and a really good brew. I’m looking forward to exploring more of their food and beverage options.

Really like the atmosphere up here. Mad cool Westerville shit all over, I went to Westerville South. Sat down and ordered their House Tap IPA and it has some bite, I like it! What’s funny is I came here at 2:00pm in the afternoon for lunch and I think you know you are in the right spot if you can see yourself calling a cab later, lol… So I went with the Chive Turkey sandwich route. At first I was like at $ 9.50 it better be damn good, don’t worry it is. Seriously! When my waitress came around the corner I thought it was a joke, cause the sandwich is absolutely humongous! No, I’m not complaining, I’m complimenting :-) Ordered the Scottish and it is super smooth. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Uptown Deli and Brew/Temperance Row Brewery is destined to be a Westerville landmark. The Beer — There are 6 different beers made on-site. The Christmas Ale and IPA are Nitro beers. This was new for me but blew me away. The creamy deliciousness goes on for days. The Scottish Ale is also amazing. They also have a few amazing gust drafts to choose from. The Food — The Macedonian Bruschetta, Viking sandwich and giant pretzel are crowd pleasers. The menu is a little limited but I was told it will be expanding after the grand opening on January 17. The Vibe — There are garage doors on the front and back of the place. There is a large patio with a fire pit in the back, bar in the middle and a deli/country market in the front. It is locally owned and operated and the staff is down to earth and fun. I have to admit I’m biased because this is close to home but I’m pumped about this place!

Really wanted to like this place, but sadly, I left underwhelmed. We sat at the bar, they brew the beer right behind the bar so it’s a cool view. Got the reuben, decent but nothing great(not worth the $ 10, sorry). We tried a few in house brews: Xmas Ale, IPA, and Pale Ale. All were flavorless and very disappointed, VERY disappointed. No spice in the Christmas Ale, no hops in the IPA, and the Pale Ale should be thrown away. If you want a good beer, go for one of their local guest taps. White Rajah was fantastic, CBCIPA and Elevator Brewing Big Vic are also great. Plus the house brews were more expensive than the guest beers, makes absolutely no sense. We were there during the«soft opening» so hopefully it’s not too late to fix. I was in town from Chicago visiting family, this place wouldn’t last a week in there. Harsh review, but this place could be great. You can’t be a Brew house with bad beer.
