Visited here on February 6th, 2016… … with a GroupOn. One thing I like about these GroupOn and Living Social coupons is they make you aware of and take me to places I may never have visited. Usually it’s a «hit»… but there have been a few ‘misses’ too. Anyway… we started off sharing their shrimp/andouille sausage crepes and their mixed green salad. Both were excellent. For our entrees, my wife had the pork chop, which she enjoyed. It was served with just a little ‘pink’ on the inside, which I find to be perfect… but my wife thought might be a bit under done.(Still… she ate it all.) I had the crab risotto, which I too enjoyed. Lots of dill but not enough crab. I love risotto and make a pretty excellent mushroom/rosemarie/parm risotto myself,(if I do say so myselft) which I use as a guide post. This risotto was good…(I too ate it all) but still came up a little short of MY expectations. We did not have a dessert this time, but looking around the restaurant, they all looked pretty good. Oh… it’s a BYOB… so bring a nice bottle of wine(I recommend«Les Touilleres Collier Rasteau… a nice French, 91 point wine I found in Bottle King)

Came with my daughter with a Groupon for dinner on a Tuesday after 8 pm. My daughter had the Branzino and I had the scallops. Both dishes were delicious, well prepared and presented perfectly. The service however was disappointing. Our waitress never came by again after taking our orders even though she passed our table several times. Water was never refilled. We had to ask for a bread basket after our meal was served. Normally we share a dessert but was turned off by the service or lack of. We would give it a try again as I said the food was delicious but it wouldn’t be our first choice.

A great spot for a special dinner, date night or family celebration. We tried Amuse out based on a friend’s recommendation and it was the perfect date night spot. It sets itself apart from other restaurants nearby with its fresh, delicious food and simple, warm décor. Menu 5* We split a salad and savory crepes to start. The salad was fresh and the crepes had great flavors. We then had scallops and steak frites. Both were delicious, but the scallops were the real winner. Perfectly seared and paired with a sweet butternut squash sauce. We splurged on desserts and had the soufflé and chocolate fondant. The soufflé was light and airy, the fondant was decadent and rich. The portions were appropriate and each dish seemed carefully prepared and well executed. Service 5* Our waitress was friendly, warm and inviting. We were greeted and seated with impeccable service. The whole team makes special yet approachable service seem effortless. I would definitely recommend Amuse and hope to return the next time we are in town.

This restaurant is amazing! Everything I’ve had has been exceptional. I’m a huge fan of the scallops and the duck. Plus it’s BYOB! Bonus! I usually go on Friday nights and the service is always top notch, they make you feel right at home. I highly recommend it!

Just came back from having lunch here. We were welcomed by our very gracious server. For apps, we shared crepes with shrimps and andouille sausage. Tasty enough, reminiscent of Caribbean flavor. Their sliced french bread was warm with toasty crust, perfect with butter. I asked for second serving. I was hoping to try their risotto with crab, but it wasn’t in the menu so I opted instead for the steak sandwich and mixed greens. This time the french bread is too toasted and there was no sauce to tie it well with the steak, so it felt dry. But the pumpkin soufflé was worth waiting for. That was good. It’s nice that you can BYOB, not that I partake much, but it’s still nice just the same.

I wanted this place to be good so badly. The appetizers were pretty terrible and the entrees had potential but just weren’t right. Escargot was room temperature and was served like a soup… Steak tar tar was so full of mayo that it left a slimy residue after every bite. My seared scallops were good but the spinach they came with was so salty I couldn’t eat it. My husband had the rack of lamb. Looked beautiful but tasted bland… The waitress was sweet so the extra star is for her.

4.5 stars here for an elegant experience! Came on a Wednesday night party of 3 at 6pm with no one else in the restaurant. Service was great and timing of food was spaced out but didn’t take too long. There was complimentary bread for dessert and chocolate truffle when we left! They were both delicious. 1. Escargot — came in small bowl piping hot. Big chunks of escargot and not skimpy at all. There was bacon in it to help with flavor. Overall maybe 3 – 3.5÷5. 2. Salad with egg and cheese — delicious! The blue cheese or gorgonzola was blended into the salad which gave it a rich taste. 3. Branzino — crispy outside with semi dry inside and a average size piece. It came with sauce which helped out and an onion. 4. Pumpkin soufflé — 5⁄5 for amazing texture and taste. It was crunchy on top and super fluffy and wet inside. Amazing work here! Overall, I’d come back with family or my girlfriend.

Customer service was superb. I wouldn’t change a thing about it! I thought the french onion soup could have been better; I couldn’t really taste the cheese. My coq au vin special was awesome. My husband and I will be back for hopefully another great date night.

It has been a few months since our last and sadly disappointing, visit. We returned for a celebration dinner on a Wednesday night. This time everything was absolutely perfect. My husband started with the smoked trout which was served with fresh greens while I thoroughly enjoyed the mixed green salad. For my entrée I chose the scallops which were perfectly seared and served with baby spinach and a squash purée. My husband had a swordfish special which was equally delicious. We ended our celebration with a Blood Orange Soufflé that was awesome.

Went a year ago around the time they opened for brunch and it was outstanding. However, this last friday dinner was very ordinary. The escargots were not serve in their shells or proper serving dish and there was barely any sauce at the bottom(they were dry and tasteless). The egg on top of the fresee salad was overcooked. Fries soggy. The steak was quite good and so were the profiteroles. I also have to give a star for excellent service. Overall OK. I had high expectation and the restaurant did not meet them.

Came here for Brunch with the boyfriend. I liked the inside décor and the fact that there were not many people eating. Staff was friendly as well. I ordered the benedict and it was very yummy. Very different from benedicts that I have tried before. Will most likely come back and try lunch or dinner menu, one day.

I came here on Sunday in between 3 pm — 5 pm, which shows as closed but the hostess sat us anyway and forewarned us that it’s in between dinner and brunch for them. No problem, I was just happy to come here because it looked absolutely adorable from the outside. She sat us and helped us open our wine(it’s BYOB and there’s a liquor store across the street). And right away, fresh piping warm french bread was brought to the table was perfectly spreadable butter. Already, off to a great start. The prices are a little higher. I got the special risotto of the day for $ 24 and the boyfriend got their chicken for $ 22 – 24. Both were delicious! The risotto was super filling and they gave you a heaping portion. Delicious. The chicken was slightly dry for dark meat but it was still delicious and fell off the bones. Also, they gave you a little fig appetizer to try and a little white chocolate with dates & almonds at the end. Both were delicious and perfect little bites. The hostess/waitress was super nice and attentive the whole time. This is definitely a perfect date spot if you want to impress that girl you’ve been eyeing. Cannot wait to return!

We were really excited to try this place after reading the reviews, but I have to agree with those that are a bit down on it. It was busy when we arrived, but we were seated outside quickly without a reservation(although I’d probably recommend one on a weekend night). For starters, I had the French onion soup and my wife had Parsnip purée soup. These were the highlights for each of us, although I’ve definitely had better French onion. My entrée was steak frites. I ordered it medium rare and it was definitely more on the rare side. It was decent, not great. The fries seemed like they were from the bottom of the bag. Probably just bad luck but also disappointing. My wife had the duck confit, one of her favorites. The duck was ok but the potatoes and kale were smothered in oil. Overall a very underwhelming set of entrees. For $ 100 for 2(not counting the wine we brought), I definitely expected a higher quality. Will probably try brunch at some point, but I don’t think we’ll be back for dinner.

Outstanding food. Great menu. A little disappointed with our server; she was very distracted and took a long time to bring the check.

In a community where mediocrity is the norm, this restaurant is almost too good. You won’t find better food or service anywhere around here. Having dinner here really reminded me of visiting Paris on my honeymoon. I had the deconstructed shrimp crepes with diced andouille sausage, the duck confit, and the black currant sorbet. The server said all the sorbets and ice creams are made in-house. My wife had the grilled swordfish over quinoa, and the passion fruit soufflé. I don’t think I’ve seen swordfish cooked more perfectly, and it was a very generous portion. The soufflé was like eating a cloud. The service was friendly, and flawless. This place is perfect for a special occasion, as it is not cheap to eat at Amuse, but I don’t mind paying if it is worth it, and it is here.

Amazing food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. Best for date night, or groups not for children unless during day. Mussels and steak are my favorite!

We were fortunate enough to rent out the restaurant a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday for my 40th birthday. Everything from the planning, to the food and service was wonderful and easy. All we really had to do was show up everything else was taken care of for us. There was a choice of 4 apps 4 dinners and 4 desserts. The most popular app was the risotto which was cooked perfectly. For dinner many of our guests had the cassoulet with delicious duck and pork belly. It was a little lighter than I have had in the past which was very refreshing. For dessert the profiteroles were outstanding as always. I heard raves about the food and service from all of my guests. Some in the restaurant business and very sophisticated eaters and some who have more simple tastes. All were thrilled. Believe it or not I actually got a thank you card for having dinner at such a nice place from one of my guests. Thanks again to CJ and his crew for a great experience. Now if I can just convince my wife I am 40 again next year we can have another party.

A true French restaurant and by that I mean: — Everything that is served is cooked just right. — The flavors and textures are well combined. — Attention is paid to details. In addition the Service is great, the Ambiance just right for casual(or formal) conversation without making it too noisy and romantic enough to take a date. I went with a couple and their 7YO son. *** Pairing of wine or beverages to the food is YOURCHOICEASITISBYOB(i.e. they do not serve alcoholic drinks so they allow you to bring your own wine, beer etc).

After more visits, raising to 5 stars because its quality is so consistent and very good French byo places are so rare in this state where having Italian food seems to be the default setting. They try very hard to make this an excellent experience for every guest, not just regulars, and are very attentive to Unilocal reviews. Although I would prefer lower prices(beef bourguignon and other specials are $ 35)or larger portions on some items(e.g., fish), and think French bistros should be required to offer coq au vin and steak au poivre with aromas that could fill a room daily, my wife and I have never had a dish or even side dish here we did not like very much, for example, excellent bread, salad and bread pudding. One oddity – the early dining limited item 3 course prix fixe menu does not save you any money unless you order the fish entrée. When the weather cools, I will miss their outdoor tables with nice recorded music.

A solid 4.0 in my book. Tried Amuse the other day for WEEKENDBRUNCH and what a breath of fresh air it was! White walls, clean linens, a brightly lit dining area, semi-contemporary plating, attentive staff, small centerpieces, a face/a brand/a company in mind, adorable bathrooms; seriously, the appeal was hard to resist. So my boyfriend and I rolled in around 11:30am, a half an hour after their opening time. We were immediately seated with coat check options(hey, how about that!) and placed towards the back with the bathroom and kitchen in line of sight. Although this may be a little unattractive to some, I preferred it for my first visit because you immediately get sense of the house dynamics. We were greeted by our server who asked us about drinks and before you know it, someone is pouring waters and the table set for four was immediately changed for two. Shortly after our coffee is out served with warm milk, organic cane cubes, and Splenda. A runner then comes out and places a breadbasket at our table. But this is not your ordinary breadbasket, instead filled with breakfast pastries! A cheese-blueberry danish, a chocolate croissant, and an almond croissant all from Balthazar I’m told. I had questioned the server about some of the items found on the website that didn’t appear on the menu, and she informed us that the menu changes based on what the chef has in stock. Okay, no problem, moving forward. Strategically I had ordered the CROQUEMADAME for two reasons. 1. It had a decent amount of protein on it without it being overly meaty. 2. Can’t put a french classic on your menu and not have it taste good, so I’ll be the judge. The Croque Madame, which I didn’t knew had the option of either a salad or french fries, sorry, ahem, «frites» until I had asked for it, looked promising. And for my other half, he had ordered the EGGSBENEDICT with no options. Our entrees arrived within reasonable time. Everything was tasty. The au gratin that came with the Egg Benedict was deliciously nutty, creamy, rich. The egg on my Croque Madame was on top, and thankfully and layer between the egg and the piece of bread was a hefty portion of thinly sliced smoked deli ham, which I thought worked well. The side salad, tossed in very simple vinaigrette. As if the pastries and entrees weren’t enough, best believe I had ordered DESSERT too. Their dessert menu was quite extensive, but in the end we ended up getting the BREADPUDDING to share. Best bread pudding? No not really, but the crème anglaise was a nice touch. All in all I would say that this place has small downtown Westfield appeal. They even gave me Maggis Cooks’ caramels! How Normandy inspired! I can’t wait to try them for lunch and dinner. The food is on par, the service is very good, the prices are fair, and the setting is refreshing. Everything else is just nitpicking. There were some oddities within the menu that I think is still experimental at this stage(they have only been open for 3 weeks). I’m hoping in time it will be edited and get more simplified. If there’s anything I would change about this place it would be: — The bread pudding that was paired with caramel flavored ice cream should have been salted caramel. If it was salted caramel(because their menu lists«salted caramel» at the bottom with the other ice cream flavors, and just«caramel» with the bread pudding), I honestly didn’t taste«salted» at all. Maybe even a few grains of sea salt would have helped too. — The Eggs Benedict that came with potatoes au gratin should have also come with some greens/salad. My boyfriend complained that the dish was just overly rich. I think a salad with the acidity with the vinaigrette could have cut through the richness. — If your breadbasket is full of sweet breakfast pastries, I think serving Orange Marmalade is unnecessary. — I was a little disappointed to see that the dessert menu was more American than it was French. No canneles, no mont blancs, no profiteroles? I’m may be over reaching but instead they have Warm Apple Crisp and Passion Fruit Ice Cream? It’s a varietal mediocre mix, and nothing screams, «you should definitely try me.» — The«anatomy of beef cuts» painting doesn’t proportionally fit that wall. — A little more description in the entrée plates on the menu would help too. Uh, «Omelette with Lamb, Beef and Parmesan» doesn’t sound too appetizing.
