In my life I have heard of many travesties put on against the human race(i.e. the holocaust, 9/11, the movie Pixels), but I have yet to experience anything as awful as these events; that is until I ate at this Friendly’s. If your some sort of sick sadistic SOB, who loves nothing more than rectally bleeding for hours on end then this is the place for you. My grandfather once told me that he was forced to eat raw horse genitalia in a Vietnamese POW Camp, well that sounds like a 5 star dish compared to any of the slop at this place. Above the restaurant should read, «Abandon hope all ye who enter». May God have mercy on any poor soul who is forced to eat in this establishment. –5 out of 5 stars.

Every time I have gone there or called in an order in the past year it has been awful. Terrible service, terrible food

Stopped in for dinner, three of us. Surprised to see $ 2 meal, burger, small fribble. Fries were a $ 1 extra. Place was packed maybe a ten minute wait. Service was fast, food was very good and was hot when it arrived…

Went to Friendly’s at Westfield shops for the second Sunday evening in a row. Two different members of the wait staff both spent around 20 minutes trying to enter ice cream orders into the computer at the front counter. We sat and sat finally calling the hostess over to find out what was going on. She took our order and we again sat for around 15 minutes never once did our waiter come over. Once our salad and chili was delivered he sat the food done and walked away. Worse service ever… To top it off I love Tabasco in my chili. Last week they said they were out and should have it on Monday today I asked again and they said they no longer carry it. I walked to Big Y and bought a bottle. Whats wrong condiments to expense? To bad this family favorite restaurant has gone done hill in the last few years. That build a burger for $ 13 dollars was a real loser in my book. I will avoid this place unless I want ice cream in the winter!!!

Another New England tradition is Friendly’s Ice Cream which was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts in the 1930’s. Friendly’s is known for their big beef burgers, Supermelt sandwiches, salads, and appetizers — and every meal ends with their homemade ice cream in limitless sizes, shapes, and flavors.(They refer to this as the«Happy Ending»…Honest, I’m not making this up!) Friendly’s is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with all of the traditional breakfast specialties including waffles, omelets, skillet breakfasts, pancakes, and French Toast. Lunch and Dinner options include soups, salads, burgers, sandwich melts and regular sandwiches and wraps, as well as entrée dinners with fried chicken, clam boats, fried Fisherman’s platter, meatloaf, and so on. And of course they have desserts with Fribbles(a thick milkshake), sundaes, brownies, cakes, and a build-your-own 12-scoop concoction with 6 different toppings. They also offer single-scoop dishes, cones, and waffle cones of ice cream and sherbet for those of us with a bit more restraint. In addition to the sit-down diner section of the restaurant, Friendly’s has a carry-out ice cream bar where you can order your dessert to go, and they also have big coolers with the ice cream packed in pints, quarts, and half gallons to take home. Friendly’s is a staple in most every small New England town, and the one in Westfield happens to be in walking distance of the Holiday Inn Express where I typically stay. That makes it entirely too tempting to slip over late at night for a Fribble or a scoop of ice cream.
