The Stephen Christie Realty Group

We decided to start looking for a house (had been renting for a few years) and was pretty much at this point just going to open homes. The house being shown by The Stephen Christie Group was a bit more expensive then we wanted, was a short sale, but was the house we decided we wanted.
We worked with Deserie (Who was Great!) and made an offer. We went with the Stephen Christie Group as our realtor because they also represented the sellers and figured this might give us an edge over anyone else potentially looking to place an offer. Over 6 months after the start of the negotiations we did get the house, but in the process went through 3 different realtors and was lied to at least 5 times through the process that we were able to find out about. I am giving them 2 stars because at the end of the ½ of a year we did get the house, but between the no call backs, lies and lack of consistency with who was helping us I would never get myself into a situation where I needed to use them again. They did go above and beyond and sent us a $ 100 give card to a somewhat local steak house, but you would think after working with someone for 6 months you would have learned they do not eat meat… the gesture was nice, though.
I would like to also point out we were not really happy with the fact that even though we did sign up with Deserie, the contract was with The Stephen Christie Group. This is kind of odd and when Deserie left and went to a different company to work we were not able to keep her as our realtor if we wanted to stay in the area. We did look at some other homes outside of the boundries with her but did not find anything we liked.

Stephen Christie provided me with everything one could ask for in selling my home, under not such favorable conditions.
I am a licensed California Real Estate Broker, and decided to have Stephen and his group represent me… bottom line, he got the job done with the utmost professionalism.

BOTTOM LINE– Great presentation to get you hooked, gangbusters at the beginning to set up your listing, but if difficulties arise he will likely pawn you off to his team and become disinterested.
Ultimately our home sold, (with significant help from my wife and I) but all professionalism from Mr. Christie was left behind as he made no attempts to communicate directly with us during the last 2 months of our escrow including after it closed.
Also during our «honeymoon phase» we referred two friends who listed with him as well. (D.S. and A. A in the event Stephen reads this review). Both had positive outcomes as far as their sales but mixed experiences with the group.
I was disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of those referrals. Bad business etiquette to say the least.
A simple thank you would have been acceptable.
Considering the vast number of RE agents to choose from, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I have bought and sold many homes over the years and Stephan Christie is the very best! I will work with no one else. His level of customer service is second to none.
