I used to work here back in the LC Pizza Station days. It has changed quite a bit with the addition of the Chicken Shack concept. Way to many signs for me between the two concepts. The chairs for dining in need to be replaced, they are cheap, dirty and many have very worn seats. The tables are adorned with metal baskets holding salt, pepper, pepper flakes and Tabasco all of which are dirty to touch and need to be filled. I order a baby pan pan, crazy bread and a soda. The baby was being baked fresh and was really hot when I picked it up from counter. The bread was warm but did have proper amount of butter and cheese. As for the rest of the place. Old nasty stained shelving above your head holding dirty fake plants. The lights above the tables are rusted and need to be cleaned up or replaced. Floors and baseboards need deep cleaning. I’ve never tried the chicken from here but would as I can see that the entire cooking area is clean and well kept. 4−20−16 Returned to check it out again. What was previously mentioned as dirty and in need of attention still needs attention. The salad case on the counter which was empty on last visit was full today and each salad looked great and each container full. Different staff today. The young gal ringing orders successfully up sold each guest she encountered. She kept busy folding bounce backs and folding boxes. The PIC actually came into the dining room floor to clean tables straighten chairs etc. it is clear to me that the ownership is all about carry out and drive thru business. As the dining room really needs a cleaning. Very surprised an area manager from Little Caesars hasn’t addressed this matter which store leadership. In fact this was once owned by a senior management person. He must be gone, bye Louis.

Great chicken. If you are looking for a Detroit original chicken place this would be it. Simple, broasted chicken with a lot of flavor. Pretty juicy and always fresh. This location is combined with a Little Caesars and typically busy at lunch time.

Got the chicken sandwich lunch combo. Food was good and with that alone, I’d give it 4 stars. Wait was long, so don’t be in a hurry. But… this is a good thing as the chicken was cooked to order. The entire restaurant needs a really good deep clean. For that reason, it drops down to 3 stars.

The only reason I left two stars is because the Little Caesars attached to this place is on point. I’ve been driving by this place for 10 years, I thought today would be a good day to give it a try. Worst $ 8 I ever spent. Chicken was dripping with grease and not crispy at all. Avoid this place. Absolutely awful.

I’ve been fighting myself to write this review but I gotta do it. I’m a Unilocaler! I order the lunch special 2 pieces of chicken, roast potatoes and a drink. I get it to go but decide I’m sooooo hungry I’ll eat it there. I’m eating and my food was good but as I near the end of my container I saw a small black hair in the container. It was like someone pulled out an ingrown hair and put it in the container then put my food on top. I was grossed out and wanted to throw up. I immediately threw everything I had left-which wasn’t much– in the trash and left. I’ll never return but didn’t say anything because I ate almost all my food before I saw the hair. I’m still grossed out!

Ordered Chicken Shack for my baby’s dedication dinner on Sunday, 2÷16÷14. I called in the order the Tuesday prior. My $ 160 order was not only missing my rolls, but when I showed up at 5pm, the order wasn’t ready like I requested it to be… it wasn’t even acknowledged! That is definitely not the way to handle a large carry out order. They didn’t even offer a discount/discount on a future purchase. They gave us drinks while we waited. Thanks a lot. 45 minutes late! I had a lot of hungry people to feed. DISAPPOINTED. I’ve worked in restaurants/customer service for years… they treated that like garbage.

We eat here often. Daily specials are well worth it. Broasted potatoes(minus the liquid butter) are awesome. Ribs, fried shrimp, cod snack yum yum yum. They need dessert!

After being disappointed on a few occasions with the food from this Chicken Shack, I thought I’d give it another whirl, as there was a Mon/Tues special of $ 5.00 for a 4 pc. meal. Can’t go wrong for that price and the food should be fresh and tasty because of the special, right? WRONG! The tiny pieces of chicken(Cornish hen?) were dried out, overcooked and greasy, as were the potatoes. I could have gotten much, much better chicken at KFC or my local Kroger deli, where you can get a whole 8-pc. for about the price of this meal. I’m pretty sure that«broasted» is just a fancy way of saying«fried». I am just amazed that they stay in business with food this nasty. The only redeeming feature is that it’s connected to a Little Caesar’s, where you can get my favorite item — hot Italian sub sandwich with mild peppers and a delicious bun. Which is what I’ll get next time. My stomach is still in recovery mode from my Chicken Shack meal! Blah!!!

«Gospel Bird» is a real treat for our family and the Broasted Chicken of Chicken Shack is one of our regular sources for this Sunday menu special. It can be great stuff, but Chicken Shack of Westland consistently overcooks it and really dries out the chicken breasts. The little wings must come from baby chickens and the legs are tiny as well. What happened to the full size pieces? The shack potatoes are usually very good, but the last couple of times they didn’t have the rich buttery flavor that we expect from Chicken Shack. The cole slaw is a bit over processed and comes out kind of mushy. Don’t know what has changed specifically, but about one more try and we’ll be spending our money at KFC or some other local chicken place where we can get a crispy, juicy piece of Chicken and better side items.
