Firing Line

If I ever need/​want a gun, the Firing Line has been my go to destination for almost ten years. I fired my first round ever in their old shooting range facility. Their newish location on Ford Rd is great and has a huge variety of firearms. They sell your average AR-15’s like bushmasters, Colt, Ruger, etc. and they also carry select higher end models such as Noveske’s, H&K, etc. They offer class 3 items such as suppressors and short-​barrellled rifle configurations as well. They have accessories for your rifle from a variety of high end sights to your muzzle breaks.
Their prices on firearms are competitive, definitely better than your mom and pop gun stores. They are a law enforcement distributor for Glock and Smith and Wesson. They are one of the very few places in Michigan to offer the lowest price Glocks for Police/​Military/​Fire.
Their selection of firearms has always kept me coming back. They have just about every make and model of firearm you can imagine, and if they do not have it in stock– they will get it. They do not just carry your typical Glock, Sig, etc. but they have a wide variety of HK, Beretta, Walthers, and several 1911’s. I’m not just talking about your typical Kimbers and Colts, they have a selection of high end models such as Wilson Combat, Les Baer, and Nighthawk Custom.
Their staff has always been friendly and helpful, and do not «dumb down» everything to make you feel stupid as a gun buyer. You know the guys I’m talking about at gun stores who will talk to experienced shooters like an idiot. Not these guys. Many of the employees at the Firing Line are current or retired police/​military and have experience in what they are talking about, and are not just trying to sell you something that will make them more money.
The range is decent as well, your typical handgun range, and they also have a 50 yard rifle range. This is great for sighting in your AR-​15 and stretching it out every now and then.

This is a very well rug gun range, and the sales staff is top notch. They have more selection than all of the major chain stores (Gander mountain or Cabela’s) and their prices are better by far. Their prices offered for used guns are higher than the chains, and they sell used guns with a very small mark up. They also have a great selection of top end custom 1911’s, usually you have to wait 6 – 10 months to get a custom gun made. At the Firing line you can go in and get what you want now. This is a great place to practice your shooting skills and a one stop shopping spot for all gun needs. They can even install high end night sights while you wait.

This is a very nice range. They separate pistol and rifle ranges which is a little bit of a bummer, but it does keep the range nice. It is clean. It is also very well staffed. There is always somebody behind the counter who knows something about anything. That said, almost everyone who works here has an advanced knowledge about firearms and a beginner might feel lost. If you ask reasonable questions someone is usually willing to further explain it to you. It is a good place to stop by.

Just don’t do it I wish I had more to say positive but all the staff comes across as arrogant and pompous this is more of a clubhouse atmosphere in a way something to do once they retire and not actually a gun shop the shelves and product are in disarray and scattered they attempted to double charged me on a transfer and I observed multiple people requesting assistance being ignored while the employees just interacting with one another I have been in and around the industry for years and understand when shoptalk that’s interesting but that is no excuse for poor customer service to possible clients the imperative. point Here is they know this and just don’t care I have been told by other people who know the owners and some of the staff unfortunately this is just recreation to them I hope this changes as this industry is starting to get more competitive and new ranges are popping up all the time I will try and give them another chance but don’t have high hopes

My dad first took me to this place about 3 years ago and trained me on how to use hand guns. Ever since then, I buy my Dad a yearly membership and we go shooting whenever I am in town. The ladies behind the counter are amazing. I only come into town about 2 – 3 times a year and they always remember who I am, and talk to my dad by name. I was also here with my Dad when he purchased his first firearm there. I can’t remember the name of the guy that sold it to us, (I think he was an owner), but that gentlemen was hilarious and made the process so easy.

I was skeptical the first time I came in but quickly found that the staff behind the counter where very knowledgable and willing to help.
I already owned a 9 mm and 45 that I loved but they help me pick out a great armalite 38 that is a great ankle pistol.
My friend behind the counter who I will not name has helped train me technics which resulted in me shooting faster and way more accurate.
They offer classes for everything you can imagine. The self defense class they offer was very educational and really fun. Great place to learn, shoot or browse.

The staff are great. They have been more than willing to answer my questions even though I was up front about not buying a pistol just yet. Great range. Will keep going back.

My wife and I checked out the Firing Line in December. We had seen so egative comments and didn’t know what to expect. We found the staff to be really helpful and knowledgeable. There prices ar everything are very competitive on everything and in a lot of cases even cheaper. It’s really nice to be able to try out different guns before you buy on their range. The shooting area is well ventilated and a fun place to shoot targets. We were so happy with it that we do all of our target shooting there.

Went back exactly one year later. Talked to some rude old fat balding bastard. Asked if they had a gen 4 glock 27. This fat bastard bellows out «if you don’t see it in the case I don’t have it!» Walked right out and went to Action Impact. Paid $ 100 more than what I would have here, but Atleast I was treated with respect. I’m surprised this visit was so different from my first.

Less than thrilled with the staff. The range here is decent enough, and we’ve gone a number of times and rarely had to wait for a spot.
However, my last experience there was enough of a turnoff to not return. My husband and I had just sent out our target, and a young man a couple slots over hit the cable and knocked it down. No big deal, stuff happens, right?
The staff member we reported the incident to was somewhat less than gracious about it, but moved us over a couple slots, and we resumed our practice. What happened next just floored me– the same staffer returned, and unsolicited, put his hands on me and «corrected» my stance while I was aiming my weapon.
Guys– take note– this behavior is NOT acceptable. Not at the gym, not at the range, not ANYWHERE.

Friendly staff and a well kept range. Great ventilation and lighting. I lost track of time while shooting with my dad and a half hour of paid range time turned into an hour and they told us, «no problem, see you next time.»

I’ve been to the Firing Line a couple of times to look around and once to try out their range. The staff was friendly and their prices are great. They were less on the gun I was looking for than all the other places I checked. Their shooting range was well ventilated and nice. We had a small problem with our lane and they were quick to fix the problem and get us back to shooting again. They know their stuff. I’d highly recommend the Firing Line.

Came here with a large group. Good place to shoot. Very knowledgeable about their guns.
Safety instructors are great and very helpful. I got some free advice/​shooting tips from the safety officer.

Good variety of products and clean. The parking good as well. Many lanes including lanes for rifles. Ventilation is OK. This is important to me because I have a respiratory problem and very sensitive to the environment. I do not experience problems at other ranges.
The staff is what drops the my rating. I purchased an expensive pistol, hours of range time, rented guns, and ammo and the staff is stand offish and not helpful, even rude in some cases. They are usually busy and just moved their facility so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That may have put them on edge.
I followed them to their new location hoping the staff would not be so stressed. Know that I am not intimated, know a lot about guns /​ammo, but I found their attitudes stand offish. I wanted to buy another gun there but ended up going on line because no one would wait on me. I would not be offended by this except that I waited each time I went there (more than 5X) after the move.
If you read my other reviews I value service in exchange for my business. I will only go here if I need to.

Great place to shoot. New facility, great gun shop and OUTSTANDING instructors. CPL class is much more in-​depth than required, which was just what I needed. If all you want is the paperwork… go somewhere else. But if you want to learn something, this is where you want to go.

Best range, shop, service in Michigan. A great combo of product and service.
The range is properly vented and well kept. It’s divided into 2 segments, so they can have a class or league on one side. You can rent a gun very inexpensively if you want to try one before you buy OR if you just happen to be stopping in and want to shoot. It’s a 25-​yard range — pistols only.
As for the shop, they have a very well chosen selection of guns and they stand by what they sell. You won’t find the number of guns that you will at Cabelas but you won’t find a bunch of junk that you need to weed through, either. They are always competitively priced. If you want something special, they’ll order it.
Ditto for their accessories — holsters, gun safes, cleaning supplies — good selection of good products. They’re also the cheapest place I’ve seen (including the Internet) to for Surefire flashlights.
They offer a wide selection of classes taught by professional firearms instructors (many are or were military or law enforcement trainers). All of the owners (I believe) are or were law enforcement officers.
The staff has always been knowledgeable, friendly, easy-​going, helpful and professional to me, my wife, family and friends.
I would recommend Firing Line on all fronts.

Three girl friends and I decided to be manly and shoot guns and drink scotch (er, not at the same time) to offset a friend’s tame bachelor party that night. We discovered Firing Line Indoor Gun Range online and found their facility to be as modern and clean as billed on their site.
We chose .22s since a couple girls had not shot before. One of the clerks showed us the basics in loading the magazine and proper position when holding the gun. She invited us to Ladies’ Night this month for more instruction and a chance to sample various 9 mm handguns.
Target practice was a lot of fun, but one of the rental guns had to be replaced and the other wouldn’t automatically spring back to show an empty chamber when the magazine was finished, so we had to pull it back manually to check. It wasn’t the typical Friday night out, but we’re going back for more.
