I don’t eat fast food often but when I do, I enjoy Wendy’s. However tonight I looked up the Wendy’s in Westland michigan on Google to make sure they were open. Google said until 1am. I was close by so I stopped at this location. I was greeted with the most genuine…“can I help you” over the loud speaker. At that moment I was thinking in my head. «Why yes you can. That would be why you are here. however, I wouldn’t know where here was without the big Wendy’s sign considering your generic rude greeting» I then decided to order a usual of mine. The half sized chicken Caesar salad. One of the few things that your can guarantee almost fresh after 7pm at fast food restaurants. I’m told at that moment that they do not have any of that item left but they have every other salad available. So curious I asked if they were out of chicken. The woman replied«no the lettuce». At this point I’m completely flabbergasted by her response because if they have every other salad available why wouldn’t a salad that involved only lettuce and cheese(minus the chicken) be available? My girlfriend was in the car with me during the visit and mentioned that she used to work there during her high school days. She told the woman on the speaker that she could combine two Caesar side salads and add chicken and it would be the same measurements as the half salad. I don’t know anything about what it takes to be a fast food employee, however the logic made sense to me. In comes the over zealous careerist«Tonya». She gets on the headset and states that, «I understand what your saying but we close in an hour and won’t chop lettuce tonight». Now either she had no idea what was going on and chimed in, or she showed her complete ignorance by telling me she understood what we asked but she won’t chop the lettuce and hour before close. Which by all means I never requested. I then asked if she really understood that concept of adding two side salads together. She cut me off and again insisted that she closed in an hour and wouldn’t chop lettuce. Sounds to me the school she went to as child forgot to teach her the concept of «comprehension» At this point I’m completely over the salad and mostly just amazed on how rude, lazy, and ignorant someone could sound. I ordered a few chilis and some French fries and left for the last time ever at that location. If you see this review Wendy’s on north Wayne rd in Westland michigan, know that I would have just taken the survey on the back of the receipt… However it was«mistakenly» not put in my bag. :/

I get a Caesar salad from here probably 3 times a week. Now, I will admit I ask for regular chicken instead of spicy, and ranch dressing instead of Caesar. But, I feel like I do my part as a picky consumer. I order slowly, in a clear voice so I can be easily understood. When I get to the cash window, I ask again, acting like I wasn’t sure if I ordered correctly. When I get to the pick up window, they are so nice, hand me my bags, and tell me to have an excellent day. Then, I check my order. 8 times out of 10, it is wrong. Wrong chicken, wrong dressing, no croutons, etc. I think they know me because someone will open the window and say«what did we forget?». I continue to go here because I like the salad, but there isn’t another Wendy’s close to my house. So, if you go, check your bag before you take off from the drive-thru.

Had another Chili craving and took the Grandson to Wendys to partake of it. They have the best hot sauce around to add a little«kick» to it. These Wendys restaurants are all around us and we can pick a different one every day of the week and not have to drive too far. This was a pretty clean place with pretty good fast food. 3 stars.
