This butcher shop is one of the best in Maryland and we’re fortunate enough to have it in Carroll Co assuming that you’re a resident. The staff are all local and local friendliness comes with them. Burgers tonight… they have you covered with FRESHLY ground beef.(Make your own mixture) Steaks tonight… my goodness their steaks are like butter. The steak prices are more expensive than the chain grocery stores but once you taste their meat you will know why! I’ve also discovered a delicious John F. Martin’s Cheddar Cheese here for sale that is made in PA on the Martin Farm. Overall if you want Christmas Steaks(you better call and pre-order them), burgers, etc you will not find a better butcher shop in MD.

The butcher side is awesome. All the meat is fresh. Great flank steaks! They will cut steaks to any size. The ground sirloin is very good. Now for the other side The restaurant has gone done hill. My last chicken breast came from a pigeon. I

Over the last10 years there have been at least 3 times and maybe more that we have purchased a half of a cow to fill our freezer. I can tell you after having meet from Bullocks it is hard to go back to ANY of the local grocery stores for beef. There is no comparison. Hands down Bullocks has much tastier and tender beef. For the half cow it was $ 3.29 per pound. For this price it includes various steaks(porterhouse, Delmonico, T-bone,…) cut to the thickness that you tell them. Roast(chuck, rump, …) ribs, and whatever you don’t want in steak roast an ribs put into some of the best hamburger you have ever tasted. Again they will package it to you specs(1, 1.5, 2 pound packages or pattied up into various size burgers). Recently we have been purchasing chicken breast(75 pound at $ 2.99 per pound) from them and they are huge, tender, tasty, and moist. Again no comparison with any of the grocery stores. If you have a freezer I would recommend a stop here to fill it up. If you don’t have a freezer try some tasty pieces of meat from their butchers case.(Don’t forget a 5 pound box of burgers for the grill!) Better yet buy a freezer for $ 300-$ 500 dollars at sears and place your order for half a cow!

We go here when we want a nice steak or some special hot dogs. It’s not the cheapest, but the steaks are awesome. And their spicy hot dogs are yummy. Their customer service is very good.

Having a 20.6 cubic foot upright freezer, my natural inclination as an old school hunter-gatherer is to jam it full of fresh meats. Simply, it’s just my nature. Bullock’s Country Meats & Farm Market has an adjacent family restaurant I’ve not tried. But with it’s butcher word-of-mouth recommended, naturally, I gave that a go. A simply welcoming, direct, homey joint filled with a plethora of fresh from Maryland farms organic beef, poultry, and pork paired with a fair bit of the requisite Maryland compliments like Old Bay, Season*All, 4.5oz $ 1.49 packs of Georgia-born Southeastern Mills’ country gravy mix, and a Bullock’s t-shirt or two. The $ 18150lb Variety Bundle included slab bacon, my choice of apple sausage, pork chops, Flintstones-envy sirloins, a whole chicken & stuffed breasts, ground chuck sans pink slime, and more. Easily, I’m well-stocked for the first few weeks of the foretold Zombie Apocalypse. What I’ve cooked so far,(a savory pork roast, meaty chicken thighs & drumsticks, juicy ½lb burgers), was dense with naturally robust flavor. Hardly the glossiest butcher shop, yet given it’s simple, honest, personable approach, advertised fresh off the farm meats, fair pricing, and amiable, accommodating country store confines, I’m naturally a fan. Simplicity’s just my nature.
