New owner. This place used to have more class and aesthetics. It’s called«Picasso» but there is not art inside, just televisions lol. There are these older guys that sit in front of the restaurant and stare at everyone who walks by.

Have a new owner, coffee is very good, Phở is tasty. My son liked soup with beef. I will back again.

Happened upon this little spot. It’s a quiet place for lunch, which would be good for conversing. Vietnamese iced coffee was good, food was not bad, and prices are average. I think service could improve, they were not rude or anything, they seemed nice enough, just not much more contact than initial encounter. That might be normal for a Vietnamese restaurant, but wouldn’t mind a little more attention to service. Parking is pretty open and easy to move around. One more thing, they do have televisions all over the walls with news, sports, and a discovery-like channel, so if you have nothing else to do while eating you can watch TV.

Really enjoyed the beef stew with baguette. Ultra comforting and tasty. There really isn’t anything better than a super fresh baguette that’s crusty on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. The portion of stew was just right and the beef was super tender. Service was pretty attentive. During my experience here, I noticed customers were allowed to smoke at the tables outside. I smelled cigarettes even before I saw these customers. Definitely a negative in my book.

Price too high, food menu is boring. Change of owner. Not same food in the pictures.

If I wanted crappy, mediocre breakfast, I’d make it myself. If I wanted to get robbed blind, I’d go to Long Beach. I wanted neither of those things this morning and got them both at Café Picasso. FOOD: So bad. We got pretty much everything on the menu. The not-so-ultimate breakfast, the watered-down phở, the bread that looked like someone sat on and the coffee that tasted more like brewed dirt than coffee grounds. They all tasted horrible. Oh and if you think you’re going to get your money’s worth on the portion, think again. The #17(ultimate breakfast) comes with 4 slivers of chinese sausages. If it was any windier outside, it would’ve blown the thin sausages right off my plate. SERVICE: Awful. It seems like they don’t understand English or Vietnamese. I asked the girl to substitute the baguette for rice — in English, then in Vietnamese. And she just couldn’t get it. First, she said she didn’t have rice. Then she said she did have rice but asked me what I wanted to do about the baguette. Finally, she said she’d have to charge me for the rice because they don’t do substitution. Fine. At this point, I just wanted her to go away. PRICE: Overpriced. Go anywhere else for banh mi op la in GG/Westminster and you’ll get better food for way less. $ 4.50 for Vietnamese coffee. What is this? A viet coffee shop? If they’re going to charge that kind of price, there better be girls in bikinis.

This is a really good place. The waitress greeted us very nicely and presented our food in the best(or so I think) that she could. I ordered the tradition phở with bo vien and I can say that it was pretty good for a «new» restaurant. The multiple TVs really set a «café mood». Very clean restaurant with nice interior designing.

I wanted to try this place because I saw the old photos and the plates looked amazing. I really wanted to try the«ultimate breakfast» but I guess they took that off. I got the two eggs, sausages, and bread. It was so lame! They only gave me like 4 pieces of sausages that are cut and 2 of the cha. On top of that, it was overpriced for what I got. If y’all want to keep your«grand opening» y’all need to bring back the old menu and give more servings.

We were really disappointed with our choice to dine here. There were numerous, large, gross chunks of fat on my phở meat, making it really difficult to eat. Take a look at the photo. They had pretty of large TVs playing football but then they were blasting love songs over the speakers which was so painful to listen to. I’m not coming back.

So I’ve been to this place now consistently every week and finally decided to write my review. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurant in GG/Westminster area. The food is consistent in quality and taste. The takes great pride in his dishes and it makes all the difference! As for the staff… AWESOME!!! They are attentive and nice. If you’re tired of the bs in Little Saigon where it feels like you owe them to eat at their restaurant. And they’re just damn dirty and smelly!!! I really appreciate and support business owners and always will be a regular as long as the owner takes pride in his establishment. Probably be back tomorrow for breakfast. Lol

NEWOWNERSHIP. I heard good things about this place from various family friends. I finally decided to give it a try. I was confused because there’s a sign that says«Grand Opening» but it’s been here for a while. There are a bunch of TVs so it makes sense to come here to watch a game or something. However, the food is pretty bad. I wanted to get bun bo hue but I guess the new owner decided to take it off the menu. I decided to get a bowl of phở instead. I got #1 large, which is their version of phở dac biet, and it runs $ 8.50. What a rip off I think. The broth had no taste. Literally like water… I had to add fish sauce, hoisin, etc to the broth to let it have some flavor… My mom got an order of bun cha goi and she only ate the cha goi!!! She was saying the noodles weren’t that good, had no flavor and that the fish sauce was like water! We made a mistake coming here… Don’t make the same mistake as us. P. S. I guess there’s a reason why it was empty on a Saturday at lunch time…

The old Café Picasso we have loved is now under new management. There is a sign stating ‘Grand Opening’ which is quite misleading. The famous breakfast is no longer there. They have a similar breakfast with two sunny side eggs, Chinese sausage, pork patty(cha) and a healthy serving of pâté all served with a crusty baguette, but It’s the not same nostalgic breakfast the old Café Picasso served. The place is now decked with tv’s all over and it’s definitely lost its charm. I am not sure what the new owners are trying to achieve, but it feels more like a quan gio with the changing led lights under the counter. I am super disappointed that the new owners are going for the trendy flashy vibe. I am iffy about returning and I am definitely removing this from my bookmarks list.

There are only a handful of places I would go to in OC for Vietnamese food, besides my mom’s house, this is one of them. My favs: Bun bo hue, banh cuon, mi quang, bo kho, and thit bo, pâté, eggs with baguette-Café Sua Da Plenty of parking. Only negative is the front entry patio-you have to walk pass the smokers to enter the restaurant, but once you are in the doorway, the stylish«Chu»(elder/uncle) owner who always rocks a fedora, will greet you with a warm welcoming. I just heard recently there is a new owner, so I’m not sure he is still around.

Mmmmm, I was purposely looking for a Vietnamese French restaurant. Quite a few in the area. Thai tea was pretty good, milky. Husband got ultimate breakfast which is steak cubes, eggs, Chinese sausage and pâté, served with soft French baguette. It was delicious and a perfect sized meal. I got the San Fran noodles with pork loin. The noodles are chewy, slightly fried like texture, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The sa te hot sauce made it even better. Will keep it bookmarked!

First time here in a few years and met the new owners. Extremely warm and welcoming! Had the ultimate breakfast. I have to say, it hit the spot. Eating a baguette and sunny side up eggs bring back nostalgia. Picasso serves it with lap xuong and pâté. Will definitely be back!

It’s a rarity that I ever go to Westminster or Garden Grove or ever really get legit legit Vietnamese food cause I live so far, however, that changed when I came to Café Picasso… Thai Ice Tea: LEGIT. I’m an avid drinker so I’ve had it all. Though, I was most impressed with their take on it. It’s extremely rich but not too overpowering. It was one of the better Thai Ice Tea’s I’ve had. Water: Super refreshing. Coupled with a Thai Lime? Niiiice Egg noodles: Pretty legit. SF noodles you say? Sure… Together with chicken and good sauce it was quite rememberable. French Bread with Patte: DELICIOUS. Bun Bo Hue: Vietnamese Beef noodle Soup bro. sipped JY’s broth it was yum yum in my tum tum. **Definitely coming back in the near future! J To the Y.

Vietnamese joint that specializes in Breakfast with a side of PÂTÉ, ummm YES please. Picasso is known for their plate of American breakfast(along with Pâté and French bread), but they also have all your Vietnamese soup and noodles fixings your little heart desires for breakfast. I usually crave soup for breakfast(actually, I crave soup 24⁄7), so this was perfect I got the Bun Bo Hue… Typically a tad bit oilier than what I’m used to eating in Los Angeles(straight up, our Vietnamese food selection lacks over here). There was a lot of tendon, meatballs, and veggies. Broth was ONPOINT(but a tad oily). I was in heaven JY got the dry egg noodles with chicken. The sauce was really flavorful with fish sauce. The owner takes pride that her thin chewy handmade noodles are shipped in from SF. I also requested French Bread with Pâté as an appetizer. Even though it wasn’t on the menu, the owner was happy to bring out a plate for me. As for the lady owner and chef, she is super cute and passionate about what she does. She has a «trust me, I’m the chef» mentality and makes me want to give her a hug. She takes pride in her food and the cleanliness of her bathroom HA. Definitely a character! Will be back, WESTMINSTER!

I ordered the ultimate breakfast. Its so simple, yet soooooo good! I just only wishes there was more pâté. Your girl loves it! My boyfriend ordered the mi bo kho, which he actually liked! The inside of the restaurant, however, is a bit ridiculous. I mean, i do but i dont like how there are reviews literally written on the walls. It gives us something to look at besides the art(not a fan of art. Lol symbolism is NOT my thing.) But after a while, it all just looks messy. Chaotic. Uncoordinated. MESSY.***** especially since the writing was seriously all over the walls –as if they’re trying to copy all of the crawfish/seafood joints around here. Nice try. Lol Service wasn’t bad either. Typical vietnamese waitress lol.

I’ve heard my friends go eat at this spot for years. I had to make my way over. They just reopened under new management. It was interesting to see this place not be even more crowded! I came here for the ultimate breakfast. The dish had shaken beef, eggs, chinese sausage, pâté, and a french baguette. All the things I would love to wake up to every morning. So good! The service was exceptional. The owner kept coming back to check on us. Very welcoming and a great dish to eat. I would like another plate please! Recommendation: Ultimate breakfast

Now open Wednesdays until 2pm. Before they would close on a random weekday, which was Wednesday. So yay. This place is under new management. The owner is really nice and has always been accommodating to us every time we come in. I usually order the breakfast dish with eggs, pâté and lap suong. BF usually orders bo kho or cari. This place is okay if you’re looking for a nicer environment than typical Bolsa places. However, the menu does not that have much variety and I usually only agree to go here because BF wants to eat Vietnamese while I rather eat something simple, like eggs. The décor is basically a white wall with their friends/family writing all over it. Imagine Kickin’ Crab/Boiling Crab but with Vietnamese messages.
