Catalyst

I buy all of my art supplies at the Art Supply Warehouse and really like the store. I found out about Catalyst, a studio space, which is right next door and they offer a variety of art classes there. I have taken the Bob Ross painting class and also a class on how to use various mediums in oil painting. I liked both of the classes. The instructors are all experienced artists and I thought the classes were a great value for the price. I haven’t taken any drawing classes yet but they seem to offer many of these at this location. I hope to sign up for more classes there soon.

not too long ago our beloved art supply warehouse opened this communal space as an interchangeable art gallery, studio work space, a classroom for all types of art lessons including bob ross style painting and various themed life drawing sessions held every wednesday evening. the life drawing classes are 15 bucks for a 3hr free form [no formal instruction] session and artists of all levels of experience are encouraged to join.
being part of a surrounding strip mall [14.99 mani/​pedi combo next door @ the nail shop!!! haven’t tried it out yet, but god damn that’s cheap.] the layout is simple and open and inviting. a group of local artists did a monochromatic black/​gray amazing collaborative painting on the ground which really elevates the whole place into something really special.
so far, i have only worked with the art gallery aspect of catalyst and i couldn’t have asked for a better experience. the gallery asks a smaller percentage for sold artwork than most other galleries i’ve worked with and everyone on the staff is professional and easy to work with… keeping the exhibitions organized and running smoothly.
i really love this space and art supply warehouse for offering it up to artsits.
