I like the description of 5 stars! «Woohoo! As good as it gets!» That’s cute, but it’s true. Coffey Music is a great place to find and buy your new favorite instrument. The staff at Coffey is knowledgable, patient, honest and friendly. I just purchased another Taylor guitar from them and they gave me time to research the guitar, play it, ask questions about it and then gave me the best price! I have been doing business with Coffey now for years and they never let me down. Their advice and products always make my business better. I play music for a living and if you come to one of my shows, you will see incredible products all purchased at Coffey, from the amazing sounding QSC loud speakers, to the Taylor acoustic, to the Telefunken mic and more! Why buy them at Coffey instead of somewhere else? First, because of their knowledge. When I started my solo career, I told the staff about my typical venues and the rooms, and asked them what equipment they would suggest to best facilitate sound to fit my particular paradigm. I went with their advice and years later I look back and know that they were spot on! Secondly, when I make a purchase, typically I will begin to ask a lot of questions, get on the smart phone internet and research the product specs and cost, etc… Coffey is always very patient with me because I don’t usually commit immediately. I commit once I feel as if I am properly informed about the product. They always answer all of my questions with a smile and sometimes a little humor, which helps to establish a relationship. Thirdly, after the first year of purchasing music equipment from Coffey, I felt as if I was buying from family. Whenever I have purchased a Taylor from Bob Coffey, it doesn’t seem like I am buying just some wood and strings to perform with, but rather it almost feels like a very special guitar has been placed(like an adoption) in a good new home. They believe in the quality of the products they sell and do business with integrity. Next time you are looking to purchase or rent music equipment, or even take some lessons from their great selection of instructors, you should stop at Coffey first. It will save you a lot of time.

I love this place! Bob and his staff are fantastic. They will bend over backwards to help a customer, even after the sale. Great products and great pricing. It is nice to patronise a local vendor as well.

Spent almost 3 hours here today for my elementary schooler’s «try out the band instruments» day. The staff here did a terrific job with the huge crowd of eager kids all clamoring to sample flutes, trumpets, clarinets, cellos, drums, and other assorted instruments. My compliments to these folks for their fortitude! A+

I love Coffeys, we get our kids instruments here, and our 11 year old has been taking piano lessons for 2 years from Robert. Never had a bad experience and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

A helpful local option for acquiring all your favorite music gear. It’s not a big place like a Guitar Center — so they don’t have a huge inventory. But Bob Coffey makes up for that by a) carrying some nice stuff that you are probably interested in, and b) offering to order in stuff you want that’s not in stock. So I spent this past weekend looking at guitars, specifically I’ve settled on a Godin A6 Ultra hybrid acoustic/electric. I wanted to compare it to a Line 6 Variax acoustic. Coffey’s is listed as a dealer on each of their websites, and didn’t have either model in stock. But then again … none of the 4 guitar shops in Catonsville(including warehouse style Bill’s Music) did either. Meanwhile, Coffey’s was far nicer and far more interested in helping me figure things out than Bill’s — who just really didn’t have time to bother with me. So Coffey will order it in, I’ll try it, if I don’t like it, Bob just puts it in his inventory. And I buy something different from him. Obviously he’s not going to order in 20 models for me … but it does let me see what I’m buying before I commit(unlike a pure internet transaction). Coffey’s broadest inventory seems to be in guitars and related accessories. They do have some pro sound, but not a lot. I have ordered pro sound gear from them successfully. Unless you can find some ebay closeout … the prices are pretty good. For the Godin guitar above, Coffey’s price was far better than Musicians Friend.
