We went there for take out of their BBQ pork and roast duck because that’s what my in laws said are their two best dishes. Their BBQ pork was very good indeed, tender and tasty but their roast duck was just so so, lacked flavor and not as tasty as in the other restos we have tried. Probably more people go there for take outs well guess what that is all they do is take out. Always very fresh and delicious. Servicers are very pleasant and accommodating. Unless you get there early you will most likely have to wait in the lineup. It is definitely worth the wait. Not only is their bbq pork is delicious but they almost always have specials on as well. PK duck prices are very reasonable. It has become one of our regular places for to go. The atmosphere is almost always hectic and busy, a bit noisy at times. Yet there is almost always lineups for dinner! TOGO please.

I always crave crispy pig and roast duck. They make it especially good here for a reasonable price. The customer service I have received over the years by both me and my parents have always been great. The owners are incredibly nice to us as well as the coworkers everytime we walk in, so I’m not sure why there are customer service issues. I recommend the roast duck, sooo good and juicy! The crispy pig here is also delicious, the crunchy layer is always perfect. Don’t forget the dipping sauce!

My favorite bbq place in oc. Good service and delicious duck. Ive tried sam woo and lien hoa but I still think this place makes better roasted duck and pig.

The food here isn’t all that great, some of it is dry but it has always been close to home. But my goodness, today I received the rudest experience that I’ve ever experience! I cannot believe the audacity of these people! I really think that the girl was even meaner to me because I was speaking in Vietnamese with her. It is not like Vietnamese is a foreign language to me, I just wanted to make her feel more comfortable because it was obvious she struggled with English. So I ask her how much is a BBQ pork rib and she rudely points to the wall stating«Look, can’t you see the prices?» Trying to salvage the situation, I try and make conversation«Wow, thats gone up. I was looking for something to feed a party o f 15. We’re having a party. Well, how about…» And before I could finish she again rudely interrupts, «Well figure it out or go home and talk to your family.» SHE F***INGTOLDMETOGETLOST! I CANNOTBELIEVETHEFREAKINGSERVICE!!! I was not expecting to be waited on hand or foot but a little common curtesy would have been nice. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACE. DONOTCOMEHEREFORTHENASTYFOODORTHECRAPPYSERVICE.

Pecking Duck & Roasted Pig! Nom Nom Nom! This is my parent’s go-to spot for buying Pork and Ducks. The roasted ducks($ 17.49/each), pecking ducks($ 17.49/each), and pig($ 9.59/lb) are all displayed behind a glass and you are able to pick which one you think would be tasty. With the ducks they are all the same price, so my mom tends to get the one that looks bigger and less oily. She also critiques on which one looks fresh or not fresh, but to me they all look the same. With the pork, you can pick which area you like the meat to be from. You can ask the butcher to chop you a piece with more meat or more skin. Vietnamese people usually like the pieces where you get the meat, a layer of fat and skin all in one bite! This is clearly not something you would eat if you are on a diet! This place also has food to go, but we never get that. And they have bread or the vermicelli noodle sheets that you usually eat with the duck and pork. My only problem with this place is the service. They are not accommodating at all. One time my mom asked for half a pound of the roasted pig and the butcher gave her such an attitude. He said it was IMPOSSIBLE for him to cut up half a pound and that she had to buy at least one pound. Then at the register the cashier girl was making it sound like we’re so unreasonable. She was all complaining like, it’s possible to cut up like 2⁄3 pound or something but it will never be exactly ½ a pound. I’m thinking DUHH, when I order a pound it’s always a little more… The problem is their difficult attitude about it! It’s one of those places where they irritate you, but you know you’ll still come back due to the product… and in my case parental obligation.

Hao Vi BBQ is basically a meat shop, not a restaurant. Guess that’s why they have so many reviews… Although they do sell vermicelli, there’s no tables where you can sit down and enjoy your delicious items. The wait can be a little long for them to chop the meats for you, but I’d say it’s worth it. I had a little over half a pound of roast pork, which came out to a little under $ 5. It’s pretty solid, and the skin has a nice crunch. I’m not sure I prefer their skin to the crunchy skin of the roast pork at a certain place in Las Vegas that I’ve grown to love. The Sin City location also happens to be a restaurant and chops up the pork in relatively even, bite-sized portions, unlike the larger chunks that Hao Vi yields. I also tried a bit of roast duck, and it’s pretty good too. Again, comparable to my favorite place, but maybe on par at best. Runs about $ 17 for a whole roast duck, FYI. It’s a good place if you want these kinds of roast meats, along with your choice of other various pork parts or roast chicken. Check them out.

Our family usually buys roasted pig from Lien Hoa BBQ but wanted to try this place since a friend recommended it. This place is a ripoff. We requested one pound of roasted pig and ended up being 1.72 lbs. I understand that BBQ places go a little bit over but 72% over? The worst part of it is that they pre-weighed the roasted pig and then proceeded to remove the inedible parts. Hence, they are charging you for the parts that they throw away. I asked them to re-weigh it to get the accurate weight and it was 0.16 lbs lighter than what I paid. The person at the cash register was giving the excuse that at other places they would charge you for a certain portion and give you something different. What did that have to do with my situation? Nothing. This place reinforces the nickel-and-dime mentality of some businesses. I will stick to Lien Hoa BBQ and pay for EXACTLY what is I receive.

Love their roasted pig ! That crunchy skin, and the flavor! yum! And i was really suprised with their honesty too, i was buying banh hoi, but when i was grabbing one of the two brands, the guy stopped me and tell me to get the other brand instead because it is better, and my mom also told me once she was buying banh hoi at late afternoon, they wouldnt let her buy it, saying because its old, they only sell it in one day, and they are gonna toss it out at the end of the day wich is now, i think thats really honest and nice of them, most of the other«vietnamese business» would be more than glad if you buy stuff from them right before closing time so they wont have to toss it out and made $ 0, well you know what i mean: P Or was I tricked by that man into buying old stuff so he wouldn’t waste it? :O Nah, i doubt it: D

Another one of those non descript hole in the wall places my dad frequents. As Anita L says, if you go early your get the good stuff. However the other secret is declare what you want ahead of time and put down a small deposit. That way you’re guaranteed what you want. get the roast pork rib and belly meat is the way to go. 4.3 stars

There are quite a few BBQ places in Little Saigon, but we always opt to get ours at Hao Vi. We like getting roasted duck and roasted pork. So good. If you have a certain cut of the pork that you prefer, call in, and let them know you like the«pork belly» cut or whatever. And they will hold it for you. (Hint: the roasted pork sells really fast, especially on the weekends) If you are adventurous and gutsy(no pun intended), you can order the pork intestines, pork blood, and the other fun items. Oh, and the pig’s head… that’s for sale too! I like sticking with the pork belly cut. The best!

The early bird catches the worm, or in this case, the early glutton catches the yummy cha siu. This place has all sorts of BBQ items — duck, roast pork, cha siu, that is, if you are able to grab some before it’s all sold out. There are a bunch of other stuff which I don’t know the names to – innards which is sitting in some marinated liquid and more. They are very friendly even if you don’t speak Vietnamese. A bit of pointing and waving of your hand is all you need. They pretty much understand what you’re saying and what you want. Just make sure you go early!
