Safeway

Every time I go into this store I am very disappointed. The store itself is clean and shelves are nicely organized, but when you go to check out there’s never more than one person checking out and the line is always 5+ deep.
The last time I went, the person in front of me was using food stamps to buy an insane amount of soda. In order to get all the sales she had to do multiple transactions. The checkout lady assumed I was with this woman and started chewing me out for trying to pull one over on them. I was horrified by this woman’s tone she was taking with me. I simply said I have nothing to do with that woman and YOU assumed a did so drop the attitude or I will walk away from my very full cart.
Today when I got in the crazy long line the cashier finally calls for help. He immediately gets back on the intercom that self checkout is completely open. That man starts yelling from self checkout to have people come there. No one moved everyone had very full carts or children and guess what a cashiers salary is built into the prices of what I’m buying and you don’t give me a discount for self checkout it’s just more work for me while I’m juggling a baby. So no I’m not going to use that. Maybe you should have enough staff on shift that can back up the cashiers in the event this happened. Not yell across the room to do self checkout. I will never go back to this Safeway. I’m done being treated like they could care less about the customer.
