Valvoline Instant Oil Change

My experience at Valvoline was nothing but enjoyable. I was in and out in about 15 min. Generally I dread going to car mechanics since they always, let’s face it, try to talk you into services you don’t need. I liked that they ran a quick diagnostics and gave me a printout. The things they found I already knew about (like my battery is getting low). Overall, everyone was very professional, I didn’t feel pressured and they did exactly what I had asked them to do. So I will certainly be back for the next oil change.

We’ve been going to Valvolines in southern California for oil changes on my wife’s car for some time now. They’re always über-​riendly and accommodating. While traveling through Colorado we happened to stop at this one along our route. Granted the 15° degree weather, snow and ice we were looking to be greeted with the same warm friendliness and customer service as usual but we weren’t. Half smiles, minimal direction/​conversation, straight to business minus pleasantries sum up our experience. On top of it all they didn’t accept our «corporate» $ 10 off coupon for a standard oil change in our Honda Civic. The oil change was fast and easy which is why I gave 3 stars. But if you’re looking for great customer service, I’d suggest you put-​put past that reminder sticker on your windshield and find the next lube spot.

Avoid! Wife went twice and both times we had to power wash the oil off the driveway. First time filter didn’t seal. Second time, the tech claimed whoever changed the oil, let the oil drain into the skid plate. Not very great service and only apology was a $ 10 coupon on our next $ 90 oil change.
Only reason we were going there is the Valvoline synthetic, in which they poorly represent Valvoline.
Edit: Wait there is more to the story, I didn’t mention that on the same morning after the oil change, our front tire was completely flat. Well after the trip to Valvoline, we went next door to Discount to get our tire patched. No need for a patch, when Valvoline checked our air pressure, somehow they broke the valve stem core.
I figured I would give the manager an FYI because during our earlier visit, he laughed and said at least that wasn’t us. And after I told him, he was very defensive, took no ownership of it and claimed Discount threw him under the bus! I guess the valve stem core broke on it’s own after we left.

I’m always skeptical to go to one of these places. Having come from NJ, they were always out to sell you something you didn’t need — a forced sell which often made you feel uncomfortable and pressured. That’s not the case here. The staff was incredibly attentive, coming to me to show the oil level, air filter quality and more. They made suggestions, which I appreciated, organized on a printed page I could take with me and use to plan for the future. At NO TIME did they pressure me to upgrade to better oil, repair things that didn’t need repair or make me feel as though I was burdening them. My experience was quick (really quick) and the service was truly top notch! I would recommend this place to anyone for oil changes and minor repairs and can assure you I’m now a regular customer. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that their prices are a little high for an oil change, but they certainly made up for that in customer service — something you can’t really put a value on.

We moved to Arvada in 8÷01… I have been coming to this VIOC since then and have seen employees there that are still there after 8 years I found out last night. Jason the manager runs a tight ship there. I have gotten to know him by first name, and he, along with Mike and Pat know me by first name as well. These guys are VERY thorough, quick and very attentive to the needs of your vehicle when it comes to manufactured suggestions. I feel that people that work in these kinds of environments, meaning dealing with oil all day, AND to be doing it for up to EIGHT years, deserves a pretty good raise. These guys provide VERY good customer service which makes me have a good state of mind that my vehicle is taken care of when I drive away.
I highly recommend this place to get your oil changed and if you have ANY questions, they will do their best to answer your question. Big time thumbs up from this customer!

I come here for a few reasons. First, they are very quick. Mostly I appreciate the employees’ friendliness and professionalism. They show you everything they do-​the oil levels, the clean air filter you buy before it goes in your car, etc. They also don’t push products. They show you the data such as fluid levels and battery test results, and they don’t make you feel pressured to make any purchases. As a young female I appreciate car places like this that are honest and friendly!

We needed a quick oil change while passing through the area on vacation. We always use Valvoline at home, so we went a bit out of our way to find one. They got us in and out very quickly. The guys were all very polite and friendly, and they gave us some good suggestions for family friendly activities in Denver area when we asked.

The customer service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. The manager is surely losing this establishment business. I had never been to a Valvoline before and I’ll never ever go back.

I went here with my boyfriend last thursday because both of our oil was due to be changed. This place was close to where we live so we stopped by after work. The guys were friendly and professional. We sat in our cars while they changed our oil and checked our fluids ect. It went by super quick. They showed me what my oil looked like before and after and what the level was, the topped off all my fluids, and even showed me my air filter and let me know it was still good for a while. The service was great and decent price. I willo be back.

Avoid this place. I was greeted by an extremely rude customer service rep who turns out to be the manager as I found out when I requested to complain (I verified he was indeed the manager when I called the 800 number to complain to the corporate office). I confronted the manager about his rude behavior and was told he was sorry, but he was a bold rude person and he can’t help it (good qualities for customer service!). They broke my air filter housing and didn’t tell me, they just made a small note on the invoice and never bothered telling me (which later I had to take in to the dealer to have fixed properly). Also, the dealership is a lower cost option than this place anyway. No point in giving rude poorly managed companies any money when there are good places out there (just have to look a bit).

These folks prove that honesty, integrity and good service still pay! They always give me heads up on issues and enough info for me to make informed choices. They NEVER try to sell me something I don’t need. Work and attitude are first class.

I was told to get the $ 30+ oil change only if i didn’t care about my car or want it to last a long time. First of all, no one should sell an oil change that would damage your car. Second, no oil change should cost more than $ 40. Unless you have an Austin Martin or something. I will not be returning! they told me the oil change would be $ 60 something and charged me $ 82!!! $ 82 for an oil change? You have got to be kidding me! I will be going back to the dealership at $ 34 and they will give me a complete and true update of what my car needs. Valvoline tried to tell me twice that my wipers were worn out and needed to be replaced. If he had taken the time to lube my doors like he’s supposed to, he would’ve seen the empty packages from when I changed them 10 minutes before going for the oil change! IDIOT! Also, after charging me $ 82 the guy asked me if I knew how to turn off the check engine light myself and then made me feel stupid for not knowing. «I just bought the car» I told him and then asked «Shouldn’t that be included in the $ 82!»

Really bad service; I had my oil change done here as it’s close to work. The next morning I started my car to go to work and I had a low oil warning. Turns out the oil filter was installed wrong and all the oil leaked out. I called the owner, he appeased my worries about engine damage and promised to refund the oil change and offered a free of charge oil change. He never issued a refund and refuses to honor a free oil change. He does not care for anyone’s business.

I hadn’t been to Valvoline in a long time but stopped in there today since my first choice was too long of wait for an oil change on my lunch break. I lucked out with no wait and drove right in the bay. They explained the pricing options to me and also notified me of the features on my vehicle which would add a few bucks to my overall charge. They offer standard, mid, premium, and synthetic oil options and ask which you prefer up front. My car was finished up within 15 minutes and I was on my way.
I know this location is hopping on the weekends so if you’re in a hurry you might try mid week afternoons.

I completely agree with Dorian. I’ve never felt like the victim of an overzealous salesman (which sadly I cannot say about Grease Monkey & Walmart). I drive right in (never had to wait) and actually just sit in my car while they do the oil change. As they notice service options, they bring them to my attention and let me know «when» I should be concerned or should get things fixed/​changed.
They only loose one star for being pricier than Grease Monkey, etc. This is not a $ 20 oil change kinda place. I pay a pretty standard $ 50+ for my high mileage oil change. But, in all honesty, I’ve never got out of a Grease Monkey paying less than $ 50 with all the crap they sell me or tell me my car is going to breakdown if I don’t do (total BS by the way).
Honestly, the extra money is worth a) not waiting in line and b) no sales hassles. Like Dorian, I go out of my way to get my oil changed here. It’s worth the trip.

I have moved out of the area where this specific location is, but I purposefully go out of my way to revisit this one when I need an oil change. The servicemen are polite, helpful and informative. What I love is that they never push any extra services on me. When they feel that services are needed, they explain options and pricing very clearly and allow me to make the decision. Besides the more in depth services, I’ve never had to wait more than 15 — 20 mins for an oil change to be completed.
