This is the story of a little blue car. A car that came into my life through no need of mine. .. but of family members who had this old car and didn’t want to get rid of it as it was a «classic», or so they say. And given the softie that I am, I agreed to keep this car, at least for awhile to determine if it could be sold as it is in mint condition. Given I have a two car garage and two cars already, this little blue car was without a home during the Winter months. The first year I stored it in a garage in Wisconsin that I own, however, in the Spring, it turned out that a family of chipmunks had been storing their food supply in the air intake area which made driving the little blue car impossible until it was corrected. The next Winter, I stored the little blue car in a friend’s garage way up in West Dundee. No nuts that year, but the battery was dead as I didn’t go up to start the darn thing the entire Winter(out of sight, out of mind) So with this Winter fast approaching, and the little blue car woefully staring at me from the driveway, I knew I had to come up with another solution. Enter CubeSmart Self Storage. I called and they couldn’t have been nicer, telling me that they had the perfect spot for the little blue car, and that I could access it with my pass code any day between 10am and 6pm. When I made the short drive over to check out the space– I found it was perfect! A clean, dry garage with a locking door, a large fence around the entire complex and friendly workers who really wanted my business. The location is a bit unexpected as it really sits in a neighborhood. .. . I was expecting it to be off of a main road. But the monthly rent was reasonable($ 150) and they gave me a 10% discount and a couple of months free. I even was able to go month to month where several other places I checked out wanted an annual lease. So there the little blue car sits, awaiting my next visit so that it can roar into life and speed around the neighborhood stretching it’s wheels before it goes back to spend the Winter in a dry, secure environment. And that is the story of the little blue car.

I just moved, and I have too much crap for my new place, so I got a storage unit. This place made it really easy. I made a reservation online and someone called me very quickly to confirm and explain exactly how things work. The workers I talked to on the phone and then met at the place were all very helpful. At the place it took about 15 minutes total to get everything filled out, I got a first month free deal and the cost of the unit is very reasonable. This location has drive up access to all the units so there are no stairs when you’re moving in and out(awesome). And renters can access their units between 6am and 10pm everyday(including holidays) using an individualized security code for the fence. Everything about it is really convenient. I’m really happy with my experience.
