This location is now closed. They have a sister location in the Pembroke Gardens mall. From what I’ve heard, all of those prepaid wine cards will NOT be honored at the other location… same owners… you decide what does that say about their customer service!!!

This is a nice cozy spot, every once in a while they have good live music as well. However, they’ve shrunk their section of self-serve wine machine, which was the main attraction. Come on Libation, bring back the machines!

Wow !! Where do I start. Firstly, how does this place stay in business? Thoughts are it will follow«East City Grill«into the ground. As a wine lover and collector this is NOT the place to BUY. Uneducated staff. Incredible turnover. Must say, selection is not too bad and has even improved. That is not the problem. The prices are. Mark up is staggering. Many of his wines can be purchased locally elsewhere from 30 to 50% less. Here’s one example: Belle Glos Pinot Noir retails everywhere for $ 39.99. Libations, $ 49.99. It gets worse from there. Great place if you are not concerned about your wallet. Thoughts are he gets one time customers needing to find a quick bottle locally. Np promotions to speak of. Do yourself a favor. Forego libations for other local establishments such as Primo wines and liquors in Davie, Wine Watch in Ft. lauderdale, and Hollywood Vine. Even ABC and Total excel !’

If you’ve never been to a pour-your-own wine bar, you should do yourself a favor and check one out, soon. Service was a little disjointed, the atmosphere inside is a little to sterile, but if you’re waiting for a table at the Cheese place around the corner… this is well worth stopping in. I think the concept is great; at Libation, the selection is limited and they have ½ of their selection seemingly dedicated to $ 50+ bottles, which makes even 1.5oz samples add up quickly. Their small plates here are one hell of a deal however, and surprisingly delicious and generous, given the relative cost of many of their wines. If you check in online via Unilocal, you can get a free glass of house wine… but as you would expect, at a wine place even the house wine is surprisingly good! I want this place to have a few swanky couches, some cool lighting, and good music. As it was, it’s kind of like a wine store that also has food & tastings. I wouldn’t drive out of the way to come here, but worth a stop if you’re stuck deep in the ‘burbs like we were..

Very unique experience and original concept. The only problem is the choice of music; they should consider jazz or something that suits better the place(instead of alternative rock). I would also reconsider the lighting, maybe dim the lights? Looks more like a museum than a wine lounge. Overall, it’s a great place but it would be more enjoyable if the mood was better suited to the concept.

Awesome concept and the cheese plate I ordered with my girlfriend was more than enough food to fill us up but light enough to keep the buzz going. Cool spot.

Overall: Libation is an incredible place to relax and unwind. With a great menu(both wine and food) you are sure to find something tasty to drink or eat. The Wine: So obviously they have a great variety of wine(duh they are a wine bar), but they really do have a large selection, and best of all is each bottle is fitted into an electronic dispenser. This makes it really easy to serve yourself wine in any of three sizes — taste, half, and full. The Food: They have incredible cheese platters with several options to choose from(I love cheese so this makes me happy!)… If you’re looking for something a little more like a meal but not too heavy then I recommend the Salmon Carpaccio, it has just enough to satisfy your hunger and will definitely taste great with some wine(I like the sweet bubbly kind so that kind of goes with anything haha) The Service: Turns out I like sweet bubbly wine and not the dry stuff. I can also drink some Rieslings… After a lot of help and assistance from the staff I was able to learn this. They were more than willing to help me out, which is something I really appreciated. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Libation and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.

Really good wine selection and the food is pretty good too when they have life music is really nice specially the guy. The concept is good and kind of fun. Negatives too pricey and even if you choose full glass in the wine vending machines they barely fill half of the glass … ahh and if you forget your card you have to pay for it again

Okay, I just want to start off by saying that this place isn’t bad in and of itself. It’s a small place in a small town without a lot going on inside of it, and it’s great for people who just want to enjoy some wine outside of their house(but not more than 10 minutes away from it!). It’s not the nicest place you’ll ever go to, but it’s nice enough. Getting your own wine is also very easy, and good for those of us who are impatient. HOWEVER, it boggles the mind that they would put on a $ 20 minimum before you can buy a card for reasons I am not sure of(on the off-chance people forget they have credits, lose their card, and just have to go through it over again?). The other night when my girlfriend and I went out with friends, some of the people in our group decided to buy NO wine instead of the one or two glasses they would have enjoyed since they didn’t want to spend $ 20 on a card for a place we were planning on stopping in for less than an hour. So instead of selling 3 – 6 glasses of wine, they just sat their awkwardly because they(understandably) didn’t want to spend $ 20 when all they wanted were a couple of glasses. «But Adam, couldn’t they just pool their money together and split a card?!» Why yes, they could have and they eventually did! But why force people to do that? If you could just pay as you go, it’d be so much easier, and I expect they’d actually sell more since now the people who want a few glasses could make better choices. Until then, I can’t really support this business model.

You haven’t lived until you’ve had all the wine you that you can drink from a vending machine. How it works: Pay for and load a vending card at the counter for $ 20 or more, grab a wine glass, position it under the wine that you would like to taste, put your card into the machine, and select the wine and size. Taste a little. Taste a lot. 40+ wines. Rinse. Repeat. Added bonus: Tapas served, a lounge are, and a wine store located beyond the counter. Double bonus: Jose and Laura taking care of your every need and answering your every question about the wines the sell and sample. I think they have wine flowing through their veins. If they’re there when you visit, you’re in for an extra treat.

Interesting wine tasting set-up. You buy a $ card and insert it in the wine you wish to taste. You buy either a «taste» ½ glass or full glass. Very expensive. Some full glasses are $ 20+.

This is an awesome concept. You can sample wines by three different pours for 3 different prices; 1 ½ oz, 3 oz, or the full 6 oz. My advice is to try the 1 ½ oz pours for the hyper-expensive wines. It’s the cheapest way to get the rights to say, «Hey, Bradford, have you tried the Chilean Petit Verdots?» or something like that. The tapas were excellent also. The manager and staff were very attentive and the store has some great wine accessories, beer, and wine to go.

I would’ve given it a five but they took out some of the dispensers. It’s just fun that you can try just an ounce for a taste so you are not stuck with a wine you don’t really feel like finishing. I love their promo on Wednesday and Thursday night. They double your load in the card and you can use it any night. My $ 75 which had $ 150 value lasted me a year to use for occasional variety of wine in a night.

Went there for the first time last weekend. Place was very clean. There was a guy playing oldies on his acoustic guitar was nice. The place has nice selection of couches and tables inside, or they have tables outside where one can sit. There was a good crowd that night. Did not try the tapas but they looked pretty good. They have a good selection of wines, one should be able to find a couple of wines that he or she likes. I stuck with this one bottle of wine after trying out a few, I might have been better off just buying a bottle of it, i dunno… I will defintely go there again, it was a nice night

Nice place for wine, the tapas are not that great… they’re a little overpriced. The employees are wonderful and can suggest a great wine based on what you’re in the mood for. The décor is very strange… it doesn’t really make the place come together at all. The music is hit or miss, they have different people performing on different nights.

I was there Friday… probably around 9’ish… They had a guy singing which was very nice. He came around asking us what we wanted him to sing… etc. The place is comfortable, had some couches or tables, you pick… It was kinda empty, which could be good or bad; I felt it was like almost time to close it was sooo empty… I’ve been there b4 and ithere were more people. Price? Not bad I guess, if you like a certain wine you like, just buy the bottle and it end up being better… There is an $ 11 bottle fee. I am not a wine expert so do not know if that is the norm, high or low… Overall really nice atmostphere, polite and helpful staff. Also tried a cheese platter which was reasonable and good for the price. I will be back.

The selection of wines to sample is fantastic and the tapas plates are better than I anticipated, very good. There are two things keeping this from getting five stars. One it is overpriced(bottles). Two it is missing the welcoming atmosphere of the wine bars I’m used to. What they need to do, in my opinion is take that welcoming little corner in the back with the two overstuffed chairs, sofa and coffee table and apply that to the rest of the room. The rest of the room is far to sterile and uninviting.

I came here to meet up with a South African. I drank some wine from New Zealand and ate some Tapas– Hummus and Smoked Salmon. It was like a date at the UN. This place is a wine bar(but not cozy like a wine bar should be,) and a wine store(but too pricey, like the wine store in my town shouldn’t be.) It’s one of those places where you can purchase a card and taste a bunch of wines from automated dispensers before buying a full glass or bottle. Like a grown up arcade. The selection had great variety. I tried some very nice wines from Argentina and New Zealand, using my friend’s magical card.(price of a taste and pour vary. You can also buy bottles/glasses at the bar. They host tastings most weeknights.) Can’t go wrong with New Zealands, or so I’m told, so we got a bottle and moved from the cold — too much granite and chrome inside– to a little bistro table outside — much nicer. The place was empty on a Sunday — and I’ve never seen it full, but it’s new and Weston Town Center is not exactly a happening scene, except for the Starbucks. The smoked salmon topped some great crusty bread and came with lots of capers and red onion. The hummus was excellent — just perfect, actually — in texture and flavor — just enough garlic — served with a delicious olive mix and warm pita. I dove right into the pool of olive oil in the middle. Surprisingly very good food, I must say; and generous portions. I wish I could love this place, but it just doesn’t «feel» inviting. It lacks character and charm. But after a bottle of New Zealand loveliness, melt in your mouth smooth-salmon and chick pea heaven on a pita, I was beginning to fall in– like. I hope to return with a larger group — perhaps host an international wine and tapas summit. But, I’ll need to borrow some money from China. (OMG –gotta drop this in — Boutras Boutras Ghali interviewed by Ali G. A classic. Funny, funny — even without a bottle of New Zealand. Respect!)
